154. You didn't bring a partner?

Outside the venue of The Jade among Diamonds award show venue, there were hundreds of cameramens and reporters, live streamers as well as fans cheering and clicking pictures of all the stars walking down the red carpet.

Though it was already past 6 p.m the lighting made it seem like it was still noon.

Under the thousand streaks of light, celebrities walked down the red carpet, onto the platform, signed their names, posed and left. This routine continued for quite a number of times before it was finally Li Zhilan's turn.

Among the hundreds and thousands of lights, Li Zhilan stepped down and faced those lights head on.

Her eyes reflected those lights with its little twinkles.

The gown she had on was an off shoulder, ash colored gown which looked like it had tens of translucent layers making it a non see through dress. It had a wonderful cross running across her chest towards the off shoulder having it connected. Covering the exposed area were translucent layers just not thick enough to completely cover. This made people think that they can see her waist but was actually unable to see it clearly. Her hair was pulled back loosely and from behind, one could clearly see a bunch if flowers made by the top layer of her hair. The rest was just let down in soft waves.

Coupled with a perl necklace which had white perls as the petals with a pink one in the middle, making a round around her neck like flowers, and a similar earing, she looked ethereal.

After posing a little there, Li Zhilan walked towards the platform. When reporter showed asking to look over, she would with a smile until she was confused where to look. At the end, when everyone shouted together, she just ignored them and walked ahead.

There were countless cheers, some even calling out her name to which she frequently mailed and looked over to the source of the sound making the entire venue burst in excitement.

When she walked off, the host interviewed her.

''Miss Li Zhilan, you didn't bring a partner?'' There were two hosts, a male and a female. They are both renowned hosts being at the peak of their career. The one who asked was the male host and their was also a hint of mischief in his voice.

''Was a partner necessary? I thought I pulled it off well myself.'' Li Zhilan's words made the host speechless but because she had a smile plastered, he couldn't find a word of refute. Well, it is true that she pulled it off perfectly. Everyone had their eyes on her. How cool is that!

On the other hand, the female host felt proud of Li Zhilan's reply. She is a girl too. And not all girls need boys to rely on. This thpical stereotype was there since ages ago and it was quite tough for them to break through it. Though now, there is gender equity, the stereotype still remains, just not as strongly as before. But it does remain.

''Girls would be perfectly fine without boys except if they wants to reproduce and that too, because of the advancements, might not be necessarily true.'' Li Zhilan continued making the male host feel more awkward while the femal prouder.

''Exactly. She pulled it off perfectly even without a partner. What do you think, we girls are always week? Well sorry, we are strong when needed.'' The female host said to the male host in a 'You want to see' attitude.

''Forget about him Zhilan, let's talk about you. Why didn't you participate in any other work other then Imortality. Any specific reason?''

''No. I'm just waiting for the next script that would make me want to do my best.''

''Woah... I hope you get your script soon.''

''I hope so too.''
