173. 'Slip of tongue'

''Charles, her name is Serenity.'' Daniel said after poking Charles for a long time.

''I know. She just said she is called Serenity. I heard it loud and clear.''

''What's her name?''

''The heck Daniel. Her name is Serenity. Suh. Reh. Nuh. tee.'' Charles said enunciating each syllable of her Li Zhilan's name clearly.

''Exactly.''

As if a light bulb went off, Charles went silent. His eyes widened and he looked shocked, disbelief clearly written on his face.

''No way. That's impossible right?'' Charles said shaking Daniel's shoulder.

''Ask her. Ask her.'' Daniel urged Charles after saving himself from Charles shaking.

''You... you can't be her right?'' Charles asked in a voce full of disbelief.

''Charles, atleast be clear. Who?'' Li Zhilan said clearly not understanding what he meant.

''Charles, why are you acting like a small kitten. Ask bravely and clearly.''

''Exactly. You aren't trying to propose to her you know. It's just a question.''

''Man up dude.''

After Daniel had stepped forward to tell Charles, everyone had come closer, circling around them to hear Li Zhilan's answere clearly.

''Alright alright. Let me ask the straight.'' Charles took a deep breath but he was still unable to ask directly so he added one more thing and asked in a slightly curved manner. ''I know two people called Serenity. By 'know', I don't mean mutually know. Just one sided know.'' Charles started to ramble again earning another round of 'get straight to the point' from this crew mates who were also desperately waiting for the answer to their question.

''So as I was saying, I know two 'Serenity's. One is the only female racer in the Golden Racers and the other is the mysterious actress who played the female lead in Christopher's movie The Abyss. Are you, perhaps, one if these?'' Though Charles gave two identity options, the doubt he had about her was as the actress Serenity who played in The Abyss.

As for the racer Serenity, though she rarely races, whenever she does, the first position is always taken by her. But she never comes to collect her prize. Instead, it's the owner of Golden Racers who comes to collect the prize everytime. She is the ultimate goddess of every racer out there. It's said that there are few who has actually seen her face and knows her identity but they are to keep it a secret or would be sued. Because Serenity is the club's strongest weapon making her their biggest secret. And the secret of a trade is always very important.

The reason Charles and his crew mates are so excited for the Li Zhilan's answer is because Charles had been trying to contact the actress Serenity to shoot a movie with her. But no matter how much he begged or coerced those around Director Christopher, no one would reveal the detail of her. So he had been on his wits end these few months. It's not that he didn't want to cast someone else but he had seen her acting clips once. It was a scene in the dark. Her face was shadowed. However, even though her face wasn't clearly shown, the parts that was shown were so expressive that he had become obsessed with it. At that moment, only one thought truck him. 'She is perfect.' Since then, he had been trying to get into contact with her so that they can work on the script he had been saving for years because he never got the perfect person to play it.

''Let me ask a question first. How do you know that the actress who acted in Christopher's movie is called Serenity? Afterall, as far as I know, she has never revealed her name right?'' Li Zhilan asked the question that posed in her mind as soon as she heard Charles mention 'the actress who acted in Christopher's The Abyss'.

''Oh that, everyone in Country M knows her name by now. It isn't a secret anymore. Afterall, Christopher had a 'slip of tongue' at an interview, live.''

''Little Yang, You are so dead.'' Li Zhilan said as soon as she heard that he made a 'slip of tongue' that too live. Even if she was killed, she wouldn't beleive that it was just a 'slip of tongue.'
