193. Not leaving alone

These last two days, only those who were waiting for her to wake up would know how it felt. The hallway that was mostly empty except for the few nurses and doctors going on their rounds were filled with people who looked haggard. The big shots and young masters who were said to be prim and proper with their attitude up in the sky were all standing there with their hair messed up and clothes disheveled. No one would have been able to associate these group of people to be those whom they usually saw in magazines and news papers for being the top of their kinds and making huge changes as well as contributions for the nation and the world as whole.

They were too worried to even have a sip of water. Everyone had flown in the country as quickly as possible that the airports had to change their usual routine to accommodate them.

When they found out that it was planned, they wanted to kill the person right then and there but they thought that Li Zhilan would have her own thoughts in it so they didn't drag the matter at that moment. But what did she do. She just named it as an accident and didn't even plan to take care of the perpetrator.

That just doesn't make sense.

They did act like it wasn't serious and they weren't very worried because they didn't want her to feel bad for making such troubles. After years of experience, they know her ability of self blame.

But now, she wanted to let the perpetrator go. This isn't acceptable.

On the other hand, Li Zhilan knew what those people went through. No one knows her body like she does. On top of that, she is a doctor so she had an idea as to how difficult it had been these two days.

''Let's just let it go this once. There won't be a next time. I promise.''

''What if there is.''

''Then I'll take care of it myself.''

''But what if it's... it's...''

''Idiot. I'm not leaving alone.''

Li Zhilan hugged Xavier as he broke down mid sentence. She could feel hot tears on her shoulder where Xavier hid his face.

''You... better... not.''

The hug became a group hug as everyone joined in on it.

Outside the ward, Qi Longwei stood with his eyes red with tears. He had never left. He was planning to take her back to her place but now, he could only give her and her friends some space. Afterall, he knew that at a moment like this, she would like some close ones near her.
