Unexpected

Nora was a very caring person when it comes to her family, her three kids and her husband. She made it clear to her children that she was not always from a middle class home but that of a low class and she had to work her ass off just to get to this stage of her life where she could live a comfortable life with her family.

So now she expects her kids to do even better than both her and her husband, aiming for the First class.

With the argument that had just transpired between her and her son she then decide to let Gabriel to go rest.

"Alright, now go up to your room and have your bath... Dinner is gonna be ready in a few and also, try and take out the garbage tomorrow, you know your dad and your elder sister would be back tomorrow and it wouldn't be nice if they had to see all that mess" Nora said.

(Wait, did she just covertly say my room was a mess just like the garbage?) Gabriel wondered as he glanced at Nora through the corners of his eyes to see the grin she had on it as she went back to continue the kitchen work, leaving him to his devices (So she did mean it)

...And just like that the whole night went by with Half of the family having dinner and going to bed.

Gabriel went back to school the next day. School was pretty much normal even in this particular year of 2500. It's was the everyday boring chores to mass produce workers for different industries.

(Another boring day in a boring place) Gabriel thought to himself as he walks down the hall of his high school which was flooded with other students who were doing there own thing, some were standing and talking with friends while some were walking to class too.

"Gabriel!!!"

Gabriel held his name being called from behind upon turning his head he noticed it was his friend John running towards him.

"Hey slow down would you, you're running like someone who's chasing ass"...

Gabriel said to John who was already close to him

"Hey ya fool if I was chasing ass i definitely won't be chasing yours. oh my god! Don't tell me you've been into me ever since? Don't tell me you like me? I mean is my ass safe!"... John back fires while gesturing as if he sees himself as gold.

" Okay okay okay it's enough you win don't irritate me this morning "... Gabriel then retort back at John wanting him to end the joke.

" hahahaha sorry bro but you're not my type" John replied while laughing

John was a 16 year old average height kid a year older than Gabriel. He had short blonde hair with a regular body physique.

Gabriel had been best friends with John since third grade, although John was the oldest he always behave like the youngest due to his playful personality.

" So you really did skip school yesterday bro I have to commend you, you're one bad ass given the fact you got strict parents"....John said

" Actually my mom caught me"... Gabriel said to John

"Oh shit. How are you still alive?"...John looking surprised replied at Gabriel

"1 week Grounded bro no Television and no going out"

"Oh Wow such cheap punishment your mom must have been in a really good mood" John replied to Gabriel

"Hey forget about the punishment an incident occurred yesterday" Gabriel retorted back to John taking his attention from the topic of the punishment.

"Okay what happened?"...John asked in a serious tone feelings curious to hear about this incident.

" I met Machia Ontario yesterday at Makos bar" Gabriel answered John, he then continued and explained the whole incident with Machia Ontario.

" Oh shit you really did punch Machia Ontario? Man now I'm beginning to think you're f*cked up. what the hell were you thinking?" John exclaimed upon hearing the whole story.

" You should have already given up accepted you're a regular human by now besides your sister is the only one who's gonna be having powers in your household so accept it"

"Come on bro there are other households with more than one powered kid even if it's rare and beside I'm not yet 16 yet" Gabriel said arguing with John

"Bro you're gonna be 16 in the next 4 days what makes you think your power is gonna miraculously show up before then?"....John Retorted at Gabriel

"As you just said John 4 days from now, a lot can happen in 4 days! I might even die within this remaining 4 days so don't give me that shit!"... Gabriel said with the volume of his voice slightly raised with him noticing himself to calm himself down.

"Okay enough I have 4 days to get my powers and that's it, let's just change the topic I don't need another Naysayer right now" Gabriel reacted in a more serious tone.

" Okay okay chill bro you got 4 days "...John then agreed with him to end the argument

"Well, you're one bad ass man and besides... Wait! Your sister is gonna be back today right?" John asked

"Yeah I'm expecting to see her and my dad already home after school " Gabriel replied to John trying to look very relaxed manner as if he didn't care but his body's expression just say that he did because he got along really well with his sister because he loved the path she had taken to enter the Demons Battle. Not many boys his age could say they admired their older sisters the way he can.

"Well you know what, I'm escorting you home today and I'm gonna have dinner at your place. Besides, I think I'm gonna confess my love to your sister today" John replied trying to act confident but looking to the ceiling and blushing at the thought of what he just said he was going to do.

Gabriel on the other hand wasn't having any of this and gave his friend a very tiring look with a fast reply which came off as a murmur rather than a honest advice to the boy he was talking to.

"Dude, firsth thing; my sister is wayy older than you are and two; you have been saying that for the past 5 years now which makes you kind of a creep."

"Well this time is different dude you'll see." John retorted but very confidently this time.

Gabriel wanted to throw in a come back at his friend but instead he was to tired and creeped out of this conversation that he just closed his eyes trying to get control of himself and replied. "You know what John, do what you want but just stop talking okay?"

"But dude!! I'm in love with your sister so you're supposed to be happy" John continued talking.

Again, and Just like that the day went by fast until the school came to an end and John did eventually follow Gabriel back home and with the help of the Light train, within minutes of when they left the school and got to the train station they were home. Around the corner to it anyway.

Gabriel and John arrived at Gabriel's house.

Gabriel was trying a little bit to conceal his excitement of getting to see his sister but the excited look was written all over his face.

The two teenagers arrived at the door step of the house.

Upon opening the door little Paris came crashing on Gabriel body...Big bro!!!

How's my little warrior doing? Gabriel playfully asked his sister with his hand rubbing all over her head...

Getting ready to kick big brother John ass for sure...She answered with her gentle voice with so much confidence in her answer.

Getting ready to kick who's ass? Little lady you're beginning to grow big wings hahaha...John retorted at the little girls statement with a laugh...

And from no where came a slap landing straight at Gabriel right cheek making him lose his balance for a bit... upon getting his balance back he looked at the person who gave him the slap. It was a blonde haired girl with a beautiful face. She had her hair tied then the remaining hair behind her hair band was weaved down almost like a ponytail while wearing a gym outfit which was fitted and showing her female curves.

It was Leah his elder sister who he admired to be like.

"Oh wow you're really beginning to slack off maybe I might need to straighten your ass little bro"..Leah Said right after her little attack on Gabriel.

"Or maybe you should face your opponent head on rather than sneak up on them"...Gabriel replied to Leah with a smile with his hands on that part of his cheek that got slapped.

"Or maybe you should keep your guard up at all times" she replied while giving Gabriel a wink...

(Oh my god so hot and beautiful not just beautiful but strong. At her age of 18 she's already in a dojo practicing on improving her ability to get into the demons battle, a brutal and challenging game. Wow as expected by the woman who caught my heart. Oh so hot!!!)

This was the thought that was going on in johns head with a perverted look on his face.

Before John could notice he got this hard kick to his butt from behind making him move forward a little bit from his initial position.

"Hahahaha...You just got ass kicked Paris" said while laughing and running towards Leah.

Now that's my girl... Leah showed Paris her palm thereby getting a high five from the little girl.

"Girl power sure rocks...!!! Why don't we go for a little drill in the backyard today..? Girl power versus weak ass men...?"

Leah asked

With Leah chasing for a profession into the demons battle sport she comes home and shows her little siblings some moves she learnt back at dojo...this what she calls a drill..beating her new techniques into her little siblings in a playful way of course.

" Well I don't mind beating you...but I don't want little Paris to get hurt..so how abou.."

"Oh Paris can take good care of herself I can guarantee you that, you are supposed to be concerned for your little friend John."

Leah interrupted Gabriel before he could finish his statement...

"Oh it's on! Gabriel why don't we show all these ladies that they are not the only ones good at kicking ass"...John exclaimed looking all fired up for the play match..although it was a play match but for him it was way more than that.

He wanted to show Leah he's strong and not little as she thinks.

"Now that's what I'm talking about, let's do this besides I have been waiting for you to ask big sis"...Gabriel said with a grin on his face showing the expression he can't wait.

"Oh damn I hope your bite is as big as your bark"...the elder sister said..

"How about we go find out now"..the young brother fired back..

"Alright let's go."... Gabriel Feeling all fired up

"Wait up y'all!!!"

A voice commanding control stopped them and this voice belonged to a tall man with blonde hair slightly long. He was wearing green shirt. This was Dr Daniel Lee, Gabriel's Dad.

"Dad! Welcome back"..

"Welcome back Dr Lee"

Gabriel and John both greeted Dr Lee

"Oh thanks John how are you doing? How's the family"....The said

"They are all fine sir"

"That's good by the way Dinner is almost ready your little game is gonna have to till after dinner"...Dr Lee said

"Okay Leah and Paris go help your mother set up the table and Gabriel and John please go get your some butter and soda from the nearby grocery store"....Dr Lee said go get the money from your mom in the kitchen.

"Alright Dad"...Gabriel answered obeying his father instructions

Gabriel and John went to the Grocery store which was just a 10 minute walk from their house. They got the stuffs from the store and started heading back home.

They had already gotten close to the house when Gabriel noticed something was wrong. It was already night when Gabriel and John got back and normally the house power should be turned on but the house was without power which made it strange. None of the lights were on most especially the security lights

"What's going on? Your house is awfully dark like it's hunted or something" John commented but as a joke

"Stop messing around, but to be honest I'm as shocked as you bro... Maybe there's something wrong with the power. Anyways, let's check what's going on" Gabriel said while approaching the door.

He reached forward for the knob but before he could make a good enough contact with it and grab it he noticed that the door was already opened which again was strange and the slight touch he made with the knob was enough to push the door backwards even more.

""That's strange!!"" Gabriel and John both echoed themselves.

"Wonder who would forget to close the door properly" Gabriel mumbled.

"Paris maybe? You know she's just a kid" John replied as both he and Gabriel got inside, slowly.

"Nah, my baby sis is a very smart kid and she always knows to lock the door. Besides, if there's anyone more likely to forget about locking the door then it's me because that has actually happened a few times but the keyword here is 'only a few'."

"Then maybe you're the one who forgot to lock it then" John responded as he got in last and stepped out of the way for Gabriel to close the door back again.

"Maybe the lock is faulty" Gabriel checked on the lock a couple of times and they were working fine.

"Seems fine to me" John remarked accompanied with a shrug while the two boys were taking everything very causally.

"I can see that smart guy" Gabriel left the door locked and took the lead again in walking deeper into the house before he spoke out "Mom, what's going on with the power and the lights?" but there wasn't an immediate reply from his mother which was also strange. She usually responded quickly when someone enters the house like what happened the day before.

"Dad!"...Gabriel called out again but there was still no reply.

Their house had a little corridor that welcomes you when you get in which leads to the living room by the right side and by the left was the stairs leading upstairs. Gabriel and John passed the stairs and went straight right into the living room which they had to go through first just to get to his mother who most likely was in the kitchen by this time.

However, right now the house was very dark as it was night time but the moon was shining so bright enough that beams of light were leaking into the house through the open window in the living room and that meant that they could see a little bit clearly through the darkness.

Everything still felt strange for them as they haven't gotten a response from anybody yet in the dark house.

Both boys walked to the living room and Gabriel getting ready to call out to his mother again shouted "Mom where's Pari—"

Before Gabriel could complete what he was about to say he stepped on what felt like a puddle of liquid and because he didn't have his shoes on as they usually take it off at the door before walking deeper into the house he knew his feet was in something as opposed to if he had been wearing his shoes.

"What's this?" he looked downwards to see the puddle but since the room was mostly dark and visually obscure except for areas the beam of moonlight was hitting Gabriel simply thought that what he was stepping on was water. However, John who had been whispering annoyingly behind his ears had now gone very silent and the only noise coming from him were shaky breaths

"Who poured water all over the floor?" Gabriel wondered, pulling his foot upwards and using both his left index and middle fingers pressed together to slide across the liquid on his foot.

He pulled the pressed fingers closer to his face and checked on the consistency by rubbing the two pressed fingers with his thumb in a circular motion but he then came to the realization that what he was checking wasn't water because the texture was slightly more viscous.

"Hmm, I don't think this is water... What is this?" he took a whiff of the liquid on his fingers and it had an iron scent to it.

At first he was confused as to what the liquid could be but there was only a few number of fluids which could match the characteristics he had been able to discern but his mind drifted to the most likely one for a second

"Is this blood?" Gabriel's eyes became skeptical for a moment and his forehead were scrunched. He no longer was sure of what was happening and decided to check for sure the only way he could while in the darkness other than using his smartphone to put on the inbuilt flashlight.

His heart began to beat faster the more he thought about tasting the fluid on his fingers "What if this really is blood?" he thought before slightly finding it hard to breathe.

"Am I really going to have a taste of this or—" he remembered that even if his own phone was seized by his mother for skipping school to watch the Demons Battle John still had his with him. That quick thought stopped Gabriel from going through with his plan of having a lick of whatever the iron scenting liquid smere on his fingers were

"John, help me with your phone for a minute lemme check something" he said but was left without a reply except for terrified sounding breaths from his friend

"Hey, didn't you hear what I said? I said help me with your—"

"G-Gabriel-l"

Gabriel got tapped on the shoulder by John whose hands were trembling while the other extended from behind Gabriel, over his shoulder and pointed at one direction of the house. It was at the end of the directing that Gabriel saw his mother Nora lying down against the wall with her head all smashed up to the point that he could barely even recognize her in her pool of her own blood.

Her body was just slightly off the focus of the beam of moonlight entering through the window which was why the two boys missed the sight when they first walked in and it was John's wondering eyes that managed to catch it

After that, the next thing Gabriel saw was his little sister Paris, wrapped in Nora's arms not making any form of motion herself while the both of them were covered in a lot of blood.

Shocked by what he had seen Gabriel couldn't say anything. It was as if his whole body was paralyzed, still in disbelief of what he was seeing while his knees trembled alongside John who had goosebumps all over his body.

"Jesus!" John was finally able to get a word out since he stumbled on the gruesome scene without stammering any of the syllables. However, this time his shock was no longer being caused by seeing Nora and Paris together on the floor but was now because of something else. Something even more shocking.

John was looking at a completely different angle in the room now. He held Gabriel who was still lost in his own thoughts and was yet to believe that he actually was in reality right now and not in a messed up nightmare to get his attention to turn around.

"Huh?" THe other young teenager then turned his head slightly to towards the other side of the room where John was now pointing in the direction to and upon turning his head what he saw was...

His elder sister Leah was unconscious and being restrained up against the wall with someone holding her by the neck with just one hand as if she was nothing with the beam of moonlight reflecting off of the assailants huge back and upon looking with even more focus on John's part because Gabriel was still having tunnel vision from all that was happening.

Regardless, clear imagery or not with the what both boys saw the figure to be was; Red kimono, athletic build and it was no mistake that this figure was a familiar one..

Both boys completely shocked out their minds were now stuck with nothing to do but to watch at the moonlight reflecting back of this assailant and during that only one word came out of John's mouths. With fear in the tone of voice and in reaction to the figure dominating a now slowy waking Leah.

"KI...LLER JOE" John mumbled

Gabriel could no longer take it and so his legs gave in when he fell to the floor with a thudding noise and then came the scream...

"AHHHHHHH!!!!!"
