Chapter Six

"Wakey! Wakey!" someone exclaimed and Zara swore under her pillow that she heard Jade's voice. She then thought it might be a dream and kept on sleeping. The duvet on her body removed from her body and the cool air from the air condition graces her body.

"Um, please I want to sleep, turn the air condition." Zara pleads in her sleep.

"OMG, Zee! It nine o'clock already for God's sake!" Jade screamed.

Now it was not a dream it was truly Jade's voice she had heard but the sleep in her eyes still made her feel it was a dream.

"Good God, Jade, even in my dream you won't let me rest?" Zara said dreamily.

"Yes, in your dream but this is reality. Please get up or we will be late for our appointment at Tiara's Empire." Jade said feeling pissed already.

Zara's eyes flipped open into reality she never thought it was morning already. After her battle with her nightmares last night, she was not able to sleep she was awake keeping vigil for nothing she only fell asleep again when it was six o'clock and then, she did not know it was morning already.

"Oh my!" She exclaimed while Jade watch her in dismay and could not control her mouth from asking.

"Are you on drugs?" Zara was so shocked.

"No! I'm not just could not sleep throughout the night, I think it was already morning before I slept again."

"I'm sorry about that question. I was just worried, you do not sleep like this before and recently you sleep like someone under the influence of sedatives." Jade said worriedly.

"I'm not on sedative and to be sincere I don't even sleep a lot but when I do it'll be because of tiredness and fatigue."

"Say no more, I can't relate to that and do not understand your plight, just go and take your bath and get dressed so we will not miss our appointment." Jade said with an intuitive smile. Zara returned her smile and walked to her bath room.

"I wanted to go for a road walk but woke up a bit late too." Jade said.

"So, I'm not alone in this we are both together in this game." Zara said from the bathroom. "You are not serious, yours is worse." Jade replied back.

Zara took her bath as fast as she could. She came out of the bathroom with her bathrobe on, her hair was dripping water. She took a towel and raps her hair in it.

"Have you had your breakfast yet?" Zara asked as her stomach grumbles and the thought of food coming to her mind.

"No I haven't, mommy left early and it is possible the maids will count me out when making breakfast so, I did not mind I just took my bath and left the house." Jade said. "You should not talk like that may be the maids made something for you but you never did ask them for it."

"Are you going to start telling me what I know?" Jade asked for the fun of it.

"No, I won't." Zara said as she started creaming her body.

"What about your parent? I did not see them when I came."

"Dad should probably be at the office or probably went on a business trip and mom, you know her always going out to hang out with friends and chat about the latest fashion in vogue." Zara said in an unconcern tone. "That mother of yours when will she know that she is no longer a model."

"I'll appreciate it if you tell her that by yourself cos, anything I say is nothing to her." Zara said warmly.

She finished creaming her body and went to her in built wardrobe in her boudoir to find something to wear. Seeing what Jade was putting on, it quickly gave her an idea of what to wear. Jade was wearing a calf length blue satin gown and glassy silver shoe. Zara took her calf length teal silk gown, a red heeled shoe and red Moschino hand bag to match. After dressing herself and did a simple make-up, she then put on the recent silver clip-on earrings her father gifted her and her favourite locket which holds hers and Jade's picture.

"Wow my bestie is looking great and spectacular." Jade commended as Zara walked out of her boudoir.

"You can say that again girlfriend and I actually borrowed your looks."

"You know me well and I really do not mind. So, keep it up. Are we set to go?" Jade asks.

"Yes, I'm set but don't you think we should have breakfast at home first?"

"Have the maids prepared breakfast?" Jade asks.

"Well I don't know but if they haven't then I shall make noodles for the both of us." Zara said. "You? Make noodles, can you even light the cooker?" Jade teases she knew unlike her, Jade can carry herself well in the kitchen. "Well tease me as much as you want but I'm going to surprise you today." Zara said and they both walk out of her room.

Zara went straight to the kitchen and wore an apron over her dress while Jade watches her dramatically as she lit the cooker and simultaneous started cooking. Jade could not get her eyes off Zara. She knew of Zara love for cooking and had watched before cook noodles but today, as if she had improved and the aroma of the noodles was inviting even before she finished cooking.

Zara takes her time and within twenty minutes the noodles was ready. It took longer time than usual because of the dressings. Zara served the noodles for both her and Jade.

Jade tastes the noodles and nod her head in approval.

"This taste better than the others. It's like an improved version."

"Yes, it is. I've been watching some online videos and I've been doing some experimenting and trying to manipulate mine, to get my own unique taste." Zara explains proudly and Jade gave a thumb up as she continues.

After they both finished eating their meals, they went out and Zara asked her driver to give her the keys to her car and he should go home and rest with his family. "Your lucky day go home and have some fun with your family I will drive myself today."

The chauffer would have loved to drive her but he knows Zara and she would not give him the chance to do so. He gave her the keys and left. Zara takes the wheel and ignite the car. She made a reverse before Jade hop in. Jade had brought her car too but she packed it in the Coker's garage.

Zara is a careful driver compared to Jade and she drives at a certain speed and always maintains her speed while driving unlike Jade who cares less and drive at a very high speed.

"You better hurry up with your driving because I also need to shop for new suits." Jade said after being tired of Jade careful and slow driving.

"You also want to shop for suits?" Zara asked. "Yes, as soon as we are through with our appointment with Tiara I will love to stop by a boutique and shop for some designer suits." "Designer suits, what for?" Zara asked still driving.

"I will be in court for the first time, for my very own first case and girlfriend I do not want to take chances with my appearance."

"If I may ask, why are you so engrossed with how you will be looking in court? After all it is all just white and black in court."

"You do not understand, you see, most lawyers want to make a name for themselves in the bar and if you look at it in my own perspective, all the styles a lawyer uses in court is how he or will be addressed by the public. If you look and act fiercely then you will be addressed as a 'fierce barrister' like my mommy. So, I want to look beautiful so that even if I'm fierce I'll still be addressed as 'beautiful barrister'." Jade explains.

"Oh my, girlfriend you never stop to amaze me, so those are your plans for Monday?" Zara asks shaking her head in wonder as she took a turn.

"Yes, you are right, there is no time for me and I have promise myself that, that case will end in my favour."

"What? You don't mean it how are you planning to do that?" Zara asked enthusiastically.

"Well it won't be easy but that's my plan so, I won't be known only as the beautiful barrister but as the barrister that made a complex case simple." Jade said and Zara made another turn and packed at a shopping complex.

"Here we are." Zara said and turn off the engine.

They both take their bags from the back seat and gets out of the car. Zara locked the car automatically with the car remote and walked to Jade. They both walk towards the complex side by side.

Jade had book the appointment with their fashion designer Tiara. Tiara rarely attends to customer herself but premium customers like the Comers and Golds she don't mind waiting for them. She had come early since Jade called and had been waiting for them since ten o'clock and was already tired and wanted to leave the contour when they called to tell her they were on their way coming.

"You girls are going to pay double for wasting my time." Tiara said jokingly as they stepped into the couture.

"Money will definitely not be a problem." Jade assured. They both walked into Tiara's office and sat on a sofa in the office while Tiara stood beside her table.

Tiara is a fashion designer over thirty years but have more grace to her elbow. She is married with two beautiful children. She had work with so many fashion agencies and supplied designers to many fashion houses and companies.

"You look stunning as always Tiara." Zara commended.

"You can say that again, I won't stop slaying even being married with children many people will want me to dull but no, I will slay for my husband and kids." Tiara said as she turn around for the girls to admire her more.

"Oh, enough of my drama, your mom called and she made me understand that the dresses are for Mr Best's welcome party." Tiara said to Zara.

"Yes, that's right but Jade and I don't want something much, we just need something very simple to stand out among others." Zara explained.

Tiara looked at the both of them critically before she saying "You and your mother thinks so unlike daughter and mother. When she called she said she wants something elegant to define you, you on the other hand want to settle for something simple."

"Elegant or simple, I don't care because anything we wear defines our status and elegance." Jade said with pride and Zara smile in acceptance.

"Tiara, you have been designing all our dresses and you should know what we want, the reason for us wanting to look simple is because we want to stand out among others while they try to impress, we express." Zara explains and Tiara quickly understood. She then gave them some couple of fashion magazines to make their choices and after being satisfied with their choices.

After checking out the fashion magazines and both having an agreement, Zara then made simple sketches of what they want for Tiara to see and Tiara was wowed. What Zara ha sketched was simple but unique in its own way. Tiara then signalled one of her workers to come take the measurement of both Zara and Jade.

"Your choice is really simple but elegant in a surprising way. " Tiara said.

"Thank you but please remember, we are to use them this weekend please do not fail us." Zara pleaded.

"Do not worry you're your heart about it, I promise you it will be ready by Friday. You know me well and I don't go back on my promises." Tiara assured.

After Zara and Jade picked the materials they need for the dresses they both hugged Tiara and bid their goodbyes to her.

As they both left, Tiara watched as they walked to their car chatting and laughing she then wondered why God had not let them be born as twin of the same parent.
