Saviour

"Kiheehee!"

The child jumped up and down on Sou's lap after being consoled whole-heartedly, but Sou's expression was still stoic. It was obvious that he was worrying, worrying to the point that he forgot to let out his usual worried sighs. He silently watched the overly-excited child who still didn't know anything about the world she was in. In other words, Sou was her world at the moment.

"Haa…"

Finally, a sigh came out of his mouth and he picked up the child.

"Uu?"

(I don't think she can speak.)

She quietly attempted to place the child on his shoulders but the child only refused to be on his shoulder and pushed his head to show her refusal.

"What is it?"

Sou asked in a tired and annoyed voice.

As if to react to that voice, the child puffed her cheeks and started to pull his pony-tailed silver hair.

"O-Oi! What are you doing?!"

He tried his best to get the child's hands off his hair but the child was on another level when it came to such things… How do I know? Because I experienced it myself.

"S-Stop!" Sou shouted in agony but the child still hung onto his hair like glue, not letting it go for even a second.

"Uu! Ah!"

On the other hand, the child also tried her best to cling to Sou's hair, and obviously, she was on the winning side.

"Ugh! Fine! I am sorry for whatever I did!"

Sou finally gave in and right after he said sorry, he could feel the tight grip on his hairs loosen. He hurriedly scurried through his hairs in the search of any casualties. Having found no loss, he sighed in relief and silently glanced at the child who was still pouting.

"Haa... "

Another deep sigh came out of his mouth as he approached the child with cautious steps, taking measures not to scare the child.

Did his body move by the sudden surge of memories of his sisters he was experiencing when he saw the pouting child? Or was this his own will? This remained a mystery for him. At the moment, he was solely focused on embracing the child's delicate body.

(It's small…)

It was so small and fragile that it seemed to Sou that if he applied any more strength, then the body might break into pieces, which was highly likely considering his monstrous strength.

Boom!

Explosion- not once, several times- rang out and shook the whole dungeon fiercely.

Soon, hundreds of string-like connections stuck to his brain cells like needles

"Urk!"

(My connections with the summons... it has been revived!)

"Uu…"

The child looked at Sou with sadness and dropped her head in guilt.

(It seems like she thinks it's her fault…)

Sou patted the drooped head of the child and said in the softest voice he could muster.

"It's not your fault. So cheer up."

The child looked at Sou with puppy eyes and then soon let out a cheered cry, which in return, Sou smirked. But that smirk didn't last long. Sou's face stiffened and he turned his head towards the explosion.

(Time to stop that mad Dragon.)

Sou's legs got engulfed in pure lightning and his eyes lit up in extreme flames.

"Sorry, I've got no choice."

Saying that he quickly pulled the child's hand and lifted her on his shoulders, but the child didn't resist this time and quietly sat tight.

"Full Speed ahead!"

Fwoosh!

Within a single second, the scenery around Sou distorted and a sonic boom waved past Sou's starting point.

Sou was not there anymore. If looked from where Sou was before, only the lightning trail from his legs and a disappearing silhouette could be seen.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The explosions continued to heavily occur, still shaking the dungeon to the extreme.

"What the hell?!"

Sou was still running when his eyes caught something above him and seeing the thing, he quickly attempted to avoid it and he did it successfully.

"Really?!"

The shaking caused by the explosions seemed to have weakened the SSS-Grade dungeon walls. Now, just think how powerful the explosions must have been.

(What the hell's going on there?)

Sou maintained his speed and headed towards the source of the explosions like a flash.

"Uuuu!"

And the child was enjoying the intense ride to her fullest.

"Ah get the fuck out of my way!"

This was a dungeon and as everyone knows, dungeons and mazes go hand in hand. As such, many walls were blockingSou's way, urging him to turn to some other direction. But as common sense dictates, curves and turns only make one delay. And Sou knew that very well. And to not delay his movements, he destroyed every wall that stood in his way with his transcendent level of strength.

But walls were not the only thing that blocked his path. As mentioned before, Sou was in a dungeon, which means there were a whole lot of monsters.

"Get! Out! Of! My! Way!"

Sou yelled as the monsters approached Sou's flash-like figure.

Fwoosh!

The monsters scattered like ants in front of the Sou's immeasurable speed.

"Guahh!"

"Urgh!"

They groaned and screamed as Sou's lightning figure shot past them and burned most of their bodies with the Lightning element.

Boom! Boom!

The explosions continued but they were getting weaker by the second.

(Hang tight guys!)

Bam!

Sou bammed into the last wall separating him and his summons and what he saw was not, by a long shot, a pleasant thing. His face twitched fiercely and the gritting of his teeth hardened.

May was firing flame arrows at Drago but she was weak, very weak on magic power at the moment. He speculated this thing the moment he felt the explosions getting weaker, but still, a part of his heart wished otherwise. He expected this scene in his mind, but seeing it with his own eyes was a different thing. He would not have worried too much if it was someone other than May, but because it was May whose magic power was rapidly disappearing, Sou could not help but be angry.

May was a special kind of summon in Sou's arsenal whose lifeline was her magical power, which could be replenished, practically making her immortal. But that immortality meant nothing if her magic power reached the bottom… and at the moment she would die.

Sou knew this too, even though May went to great lengths to hide this fact.

"You... !"

Sou's iris suffered miniature earthquakes and his eyes, which were already flaming fiercely, burned even more frighteningly.

He raised his right hand in an imposing manner, like a monarch about to send his army to a full-blown war that is guaranteed to win by him.

Then suddenly, the barrage stopped. Everyone still had their guards for the unexpected.

Fwoosh!

A figure flashed from where Drago was before. It didn't take a genius to figure out the identity of the figure.

Drago was heading towards May at a high speed who was now at her last breath, trying her best to not use any more of her magic power.

A ball of flaming lava layered by thick lightning formed above his head as he watched fierce Drago head towards May with terrifying killing intent, starting from a small lump to an extremely imposing to an unbelievably sharp, gigantic lance. His eyes showed clear contempt which had not been present the first the rampaged Drago and Sou fought, but now, that was the only thing Sou's eyes could reflect.

"Master…"

The pleading words of his beloved summon May entered his ears and the flames in his eyes shot up.

"Die

***

"Master…"

Boom!

"Huh?"

May's eyes flickered at the sudden occurrence of the event.

"U… Ah…"

She was scared, very scared.

She looked around in hurry to see if what was happening was real or not. There was no one in front of her. The claws and the choking pressure which was just an inch away from her face was no more in her sight.

Her astonished and scared eyes fell on Mary, her sister, who was looking at something with teary eyes. But May's head was not right at the moment. She then glanced at Junko, who was the same as Mary but a relieved smirk could also be seen on her face. And finally, her eyes stuck towards the fallen Kakund whose breathing was much more stable and his face was relaxed.

At that moment, in the corner of her eyes, a figure who was growling and panting heavily and was covering a grave wound was also looking in the same direction as the others. If I were to describe the figure's face then I'd say- a face so terrifying and fierce that could make the hearts of the bravest shudder and tremble, was now shaking a bit and a tinge of fear was present in its eyes.

"Grr…"

"!"

Suddenly May remembered something. What was the thing everyone was looking at?

She tilted her head towards the direction everyone was looking.

"Haa… Aa…"

Her throat became clogged and her eyes became misty at the sight of a figure.

All she could do was mutter in utter relief.

"Master…"
