CHAPTER 11: COOPERATION

When the contest end. I followed Jazlyn, she's talking with the emcee. Then, she followed the emcee, so I follow her too. The difference is I follow her without her knowledge while she follows the man but the man knows. I saw them enter an alley so I entered as well. Where is this guys going? They just keep turning around until they stopped. Sh*t! I didn't memorize the way back.

"What do you want?!," Jazlyn shouted.

"I don't need anything from you but my boss is," said the emcee.

"Is it Vince?," Jazlyn said. Who is Vince?

"HAHAHAHA!, You're really smart! That's why Boss is interested in you but I know you're thinking. You think I'll take you to the boss, that won't happen," the emcee laughed insanely and pulled out the gun before pointing it at Jazlyn. "The boss ordered me to finish you, after all, he didn't manage to kill you back then so he ordered me to kill you now,"

JAZLYN LAUREL POV

When the contest was over I immediately pulled the emcee and talked to him. "You think I don't know who you are?" I said.

"It's not good to talk here, come with me," he said.

I just followed him until we entered an alley. It looks like he's planning something so I memorized the way back. This guy can't fool me. He suddenly stopped so I stopped too.

"What do you want?!," I shouted to him. I don't know why I screamed. All I knew was that he was planning something. I didn't carry any weapon so I had no choice but to fight physically.

"I don't need anything from you but my boss is," he said. I already know who had planned this. He was finally acting up too.

"Is it Vince ?," I asked. Only Vince knew that I was called Lucky when I was young.

"HAHAHAHA !, You're really smart! That's why Boss is interested in you but I know what you're thinking. You think I'll take you to the boss, that won't happen," he laughed.

What is he? A prophet and he is guessing what am I thinking. He's just guessing but it's still wrong. He pulled out a gun and pointed it at me. It looks like the fight is not fair. "The boss ordered me to finish you, after all, he didn't manage to kill you back then so he ordered me to kill you,"

"You think you can kill me! You going to die first!" I shouted and bowed and when I looked at him, his arm is bleeding. Damn it, Allaine, you are just going to throw a knife but still a miss. "Nice one, Allaine but bad luck you just hit his arm,"

I ran closer to Allaine and pulled h away. "How do you know I'm following you ?" he asked.

"I saw you looking at me while I was looking at that emcee. So I knew you would follow us," I said.

"And you didn't bring anything? Where is the knife you always carry?" he asked.

"Allaine, I just finished the contest earlier. Do you think I will bring a knife there?" I said. I was shocked when the emcee suddenly fired and Allaine was hit in the waist because he was just behind me. "Are you okay ?"

"I'm fine, this is the first time you're worried about me," he said. Tsk. Of course, you're my friend. If you only knew I was Athena.

"He's coming, are you carrying anything with you?" I said when I saw the emcee approaching. He handed me a small knife.

"Hahaha! You can't escape anymore hahaha!," he laughed hysterically.

I stood up and threw the knife. It hit his forehead. So he fell and died. I took a handkerchief and handed it to Allaine. He put it on his wound to stop the bleeding a little. I helped him get up and leave.

"Where are you taking me ?" he asked.

"To Lethal," I replied.

"What? Jazlyn, I have a serious wound and then you will treat me to anyone who is a murderer," he said in shock.

"He's a doctor,"

"I-i'm sorry,"

We arrived at Jarren's house in just a few minutes. While we are outside there's a loud noise inside maybe the Guardians are here. Bad luck, but Allaine comes first. When Allaine and I entered, they fell silent.

"Pretty sis, who's that?," Royster asked.

"Where's Lethal?" I wasn't answering him.

"I'm here, why are you here?" Jarren said.

"Heal him first," I said and Jarren supported Allaine and took him to a room.

"Who is he, Jazlyn?," Nyx asked.

"Allaine, the leader of the Shadows," I said.

"WHAT?!," They all shouted.

"Jazlyn, why did you bring him here?" Katelyn asked worriedly

"Because I was worried about him," I said.

"Why would you worry about a gang leader?" Allen said.

"Because he's Alli," I said. They were all surprised by what I said.

"What? Is what you're saying is true?" Katelyn asked.

"Yeah, he just became the leader of Shadows to fulfill my dream to study in the Imperial Academy and to protect it," I said.

"So that's his reason. Then, why does he want to kill you?" Royster asked.

"Because someone disguised as Consort Slayer that's why he wants to kill me," I said.

"We need to find who this imposter is," Nyx said.

"I know that but we have a more important mission and that is to bring down Monster Association. After all, they are already taking action, they know I am still alive," I said.

"So you're also targeting Monster Association," we turned to the speaker in the back.

"Allaine, why did you get up right away?" I asked worriedly.

"Aren't you gonna stop them?" Jarren asked.

"The moment I heard you guys from outside, I already knew what going to happen next. Besides, he needs to know it. He has already done enough," I answered.

"Wait, wait. It's unfair. It's me who introduce him to you guys before and then you're the only one talking to him," Royster growled.

"Introduced me? So that means you're Royster," Allaine said. They seem to have forgotten our mission because of Allaine. "Bro, how are you ?"

"I'm okay, how about you? You just left suddenly and disappeared,"

"I'm okay, my dad send me to the state to study there and my grandfather was sick so I need to take care of him. He also doesn't allow me to have any distractions so he confiscated my things,"

"Should we say it?" Allen asked

In a few moments, he spoke. "Wait, why do you and Athena have the same thing as what happened in the past? You guys also have so many in common. Don't say that ...,"

"Whatever you think you're wrong. She and I experienced the same thing that's why I helped her. Go get a rest," I said and left.

"Yes, boss," I smiled a little at what he said.

"Wait, we're still talking about what are going to do about those guys, why you're leaving so soon?" Jarren said.

I stopped walking and went back to my seat. "It will be fast, we just have to be ready for them to attack," I said.

"But we can't beat them all," Katelyn said.

"Then, we'll help you," I look at Allaine when he said that.

"Why are you going to help us ?," I asked.

"We, Shadows will help you, so you don't have a problem anymore, after all, he's also to blame for what happened to you guys," he said.
