Chapter 4

Julis looked at the paper with Alex stats, gears in her mind were spinning quickly, she realised that this 'growth type magic', has an incredible amount of potential!

"Technically, it has an unlimited amount of potential." Alex snapped her out from her thoughts he could see what she was thinking.

"The only limits there is the person itself."

"Each level one achieves is a massive increase in one's power, but it only can be achieved through 'heroic deeds'."

"You have heard of Greek legends?" Alex question made the Pink Princess frown at him.

"Of course I did! Like Heracles and his labours…" that moments she realised what that means, she connected the dots.

"Wait! So, you telling me to get these so-called 'levels' you will need to fight beings like the Hydra or Nemean Lion?" She asked with a slightly fearful voice.

She read about these creatures which possess absurd powers, like invulnerability or the ability to regrowth sliced of heads almost immediately!

"Yes…"

When he nodded at her, Julis paled, Such power is great and all, but to get the power one needs to be suicidal!

"It's not that bad, Julis." Alex noticed how the princess paled, he decided to ease her worries somewhat.

"First of all, this power operates like a video game, one gathers experience which increases one stats." He pointed at the start sheet.

"They operate separately from the levels, which means it's recommended to increase stats before the level because it acts like a layer."

"Because, once you level up you can't return to the previous level to increase the stats." He explained to her, but the girl started to weird out for a second because the way it sounds is like she will have the power as well!

"Wait! Why are you explaining in such detail? Not that I mind!" She quickly shook her head not to sound rude or anything like that.

"Because I can give the same power to you." He said with a very obvious voice.

"There are beings here who are pure manifestations of certain aspects, like infinity, dream, destruction, death, and so forth."

Her eyes bulged out hearing that, having gods is one thing but pure manifestation of certain things like that is even worse!

"And we just moved into a town which will become the centre of major events." He said that with a deadpan look.

It's like living in New York, not any New York but the one in Marvel…

If the shit hits the fans it's in that city, same here, because of the Sacred Gears holders and powerful beings in general.

It's the only Devil controlled 'outpost' on Earth or at least he thinks it is he doesn't remember another city like Kuoh mentioned in canon.

Julis eyebrow twitched for a second before taking a deep breath, she wanted to complain but there is no point…

And, now they live in that specific city.

*Deep Breath*

"Alright! So what do I have to do to get this…" She motioned with her hand at the paper.

"...Falna."

She nodded, making sure to remember that name.

"Right, before you start complaining…" He quickly got up from the couch and started to remove his t-shirt.

Julis eyes widened seeing that.

"W-What…" She didn't finished saying when she saw a tattoo throughout his whole back.

"This is the Falna…" He said while showing his back.

"Now… can you take the picture of it?" He asked her while handing over his phone.

Julis was in quite a shock seeing that tattoo it had a bunch of unknown hieroglyphs on it.

She didn't even realise that she had his phone in her hands and had a chance to delete the stuff with her pictures!

But, instead, she just followed what he asked and ended up just taking the picture and handing over the phone.

Once Julis took the picture and gave the phone back, the tattoo simply disappeared.

Alex knows this function is known as the 'locking', meaning that no one, but the one who gave the Falna can unlock it.

Nice way to hide massive tattoo through the whole back...

Once that was done Alex put his t-shirt back on, and checked the phone.

Julis snapped out from that small shock, she did not expected falna to be a physical thing!

A Tattoo of all things!

She then realised that she had his phone in his hands!

The princess nearly facepalmed.

"As you can see it's on my back," Alex said that on purpose, getting Julis attention back.

It took a few moments for the girl to connect dots… A blush returned to her face.

"D-Do you need my... bareback?" She asked with a shutter.

Alex internally smiled, if he would have asked bluntly he would have ended up listening to her tsun-tsun mode.

"Yes, my blood creates it, and it has to be on skin."

Julis sighed hearing that, for a few moments she had an internal battle.

"Fine… But…" before she can say anything.

"Yes, Yes, I know, you will turn me into cinders." He rolled his eyes at her.

She huffed at him, and Alex turned away.

Seeing that she started to undress her top.

He waited for her to give him all clear.

"...you can turn around." She said that with a shy voice.

Alex turned around and saw Julis naked back, he slightly gulped down seeing that.

The girl in question skin started to turn reddish around her neck and cheeks, going all the way to her ears.

It was the first time she showed that much skin to anyone!

"Well!? What are you waiting for!? it's embarrassing!" Julis angrily snapped at him.

He snapped out from that, grabbing a needle he prepared beforehand.

"It going to sting." He said to her as he poked his finger, he then used a specific spell, which he learned when he acquired the power of Falna.

This spell made the blood look thicker and it turned into a drop of blood.

The moment it landed on Julis back, her whole body experienced a cold shiver.

The drop of blood sunk into her back, very next second a tattoo started to manifest.

A thin almost mocking smile appeared on Alex's face when he saw how the tattoo looks like.

The Byzantine Empire's Crest, the double-headed eagle with a crown on its head.

The same symbol which is now used by the Russian Federation as its crest, the so-called 'Spiritual' successor of the Byzantine Empire.

It pretty much tells how Alex feels about the whole situation.

Can't...really get over it…

Once the falna formed on her back, Alex took an empty sheet of paper, his finger glowed and pressed on the paper.

Soon enough letters started to appear on the paper, Alex can see Julis stats.

Alex looked at the only skill Julis posses right now, he thought that her fire powers will be considered magic.

But, the falna recognised it as a skill. A skill that can be trained, right now it's at 'I', considering how she used her fire abilities in Asterisk…

She should be advancing it soon.

"I am done here," Alex said that while turning away, allowing her to fix herself up.

Few moments later the princess was done and Alex could sit and face her again.

He handed over her stats sheet.

She quickly looked them over, for a second she frowned.

"As you said, I am not a genestella anymore," Julis said with a sigh, she was happy and disappointed at the same time.

"Yes… it seems so. But Falna is a very powerful thing, it can dig deep into one's genes and give similar abilities, a level 1 with stats in hundreds can be considered superhuman already."

Julis eyes widened, level 1 already can be that strong!?

"How does it that you know that much about this!?" She asked with a very interested look.

"This power originated from a light novel, which is not out yet, I read it and watched the anime, and more so, I got even more information when I activated the card." He explained to her.

The pink Princess could only sigh again hearing that, it sounds absurd, but she already died once, met a God, learned the truth about the multiverse, got send to a different reality and then once again she crossed somewhere else.

Once again, she sighed…

But, then she quickly realised something! If she just received power from some light novel, does this mean...

"Does this mean we are in another light novel or anime !?"

She asked seriously.

Alex just nodded at her.

But, Julis seriously looked at him and waited.

"Well!? Let's hear it!"

That only lasted a few moments before she got impatient.

"Are you sure?" He serious asked back, his lip slightly twitched.

"Of course! With such beings existing we need all advantage we can get!" Julis said with a very obvious voice, she can't believe she was even saying that to him.

While Alex can see where this was coming from, but she doesn't know what he knows…

*Sigh*

"Fine, I will tell you." He said that while closing his eyes for a second.

"Listen, we are in what is considered an Etchi/ Harem novel, where the main character is an extreme pervert, who is not hiding his obsession with boobs," Alex said with a super serious and straight face.

It took several moments for the Princess sitting next to him to realise what he just said.

"...You serious… are you?" She asked after several moments of waiting, she was looking at his facial expression.

Thinking that it was a joke, but how serious he looked, she had to start believing that...

"Yes I am, worst of all, he powers up by touching them…" He said that with an even louder sigh.

"P-Pervert! What is this place!?" She said that with a red face, powering up by touching breasts! what is this place!?

"Yes, but that's the original protagonist." Once again Alex was serious.

"The biggest part is that this place has many, many different types of energies, his power the 'Sacred Gear' has sealed dragon inside, dragons are beings of pure power, that power can be influenced by emotions." He explained to her about the absurd powers DxD has...

Julis instantly realised that there is more to this place than just being all Etchi...

"While the light novel is shown from his point of view, the world is not that simple." He continued with his serious tone.

"Another thing is that our existence… especially the app which brought us here could already messed up the whole plot." He pointed that out.

Her eyes slightly widened, she quickly started to think what he means by that.

"The… 'butterfly effect'?" She said that with realisation.

"Correct. if the main character can powerup from simple fondling, I believe we can power up even better." Alex said with a slightly disgusted look.

People like Issei should die as early as possible in the story with such powers, the way he degrades females, even if he doesn't realise that, is disgusting…

His plot armour, Ddraig, is wasted on such a pervert. It might be funny when Alex read the whole story, especially the part where the dragon got his mental breakdown, but now it's not funny anymore, it's his reality...

Issei's perversion has reached such a point that both dragons got mental breakdown, it even affected Vali and his dragon, he even received a new title from that!

In other words, he achieved that with nothing but his lust for boobs…

Julis looked at him with disbelieve, she still trying to understand how in world such a thing even exist!

"Can you tell me more about this 'Sacred Gear'? You said it has a dragon inside of it." While the whole reality she arrived sounds extremely weird! Still, it's an extremely dangerous place with Gods and Devils and all sorts of mythical creatures roaming around.

"Sure thing… let me starting with the Biblical faction first, since the city where we live right now is controlled by devils from that faction."

Alex started to explain about the biblical faction, the Great war, the Devil civil war, the Heavenly Dragons, the Sacred Gears.

They spend the rest of the day talking and getting to know each other.
