Chapter 9

After the victory meal… well more like snacks tasting it was time for Marcus to… reveal himself to his new subjects.

That moment every single human from Earth has been pulled into a straight and flat plane. This was one of those moments where one could see how many people there are on Earth. As they can see them just standing there on a flat surface.

The huge figure of Marcus appeared, he looked like a cosmic being of humongous size.

[People of Earth. My name is Marcus Goldman, your new Ruler, God, Overlord, Lord, King, Emperor, Saviour or Devi! It doesn't truly matter which one. But, you can call by one of those.

This is for those who have no clue what has happened in the past half an hour or so—]

While the Planewalker was explaining the people could only stand there and listen. Their bodies didn't respond, their minds could not muster fear, they were simply made to listen. And that just terrified their very being!

Rin Tohsaka who was summoned alongside the Japanese people was simply staring at him with dead eyes. One could say that she has given up and now she is a toy to this being. Thankfully she is just one… of billions of humans.

And she hopes… that this being has not noticed her before! This was the only fear she had at this moment. Not to get his attention…

[Many of your things will be the same and some of them will be different. As you noticed there are multiple moons around Earth.

These are worlds given to the Gods of Earth. You have Greek—] As he said that a planet…literally appeared not far from them as they can see it.

[Celtic, Norse, Shinto, Hindu…]

[They are all here. If you wish to travel to those worlds there are portals which will transfer you there.

Another thing is that you all can use magic now. I have made the whole of humanity capable of magic.

Let's just say that life will be much more interesting from now on for all of you.]

After finishing his speech all of them have returned to where they were originally were…

~~~
Rin looked around she saw that she was at the hillside towards the Ryuudou Temple.
For a second she just stood there. Processing what she just saw. She wanted to panic! to scream! to do something!
'What's the point? We have lost. There is no point in complaining…' As she thought about that she looked at the sky.
There was the proof… the night sky… it looked exotic and beautiful… if not for the fact that she was part of Outer God's domain she would awe at this.
Multitude of moons, blue and green star with huge ocean blue and green nebulae in distance… this was like they were not on Earth anymore.
After looking at this for a bit she started to walk home. realising there is no point going to the temple.
When she returned home, the first thing she did was get to her bed and sleep. A small part of her hoped that this was just a bad dream and the only thing she needs to worry about is the Grail War…
Next Morning, Rin woke up around midday and with a sleepy face went to get her shower.
After the short shower which woke her up properly, spending some time dressing up, she finally went downstairs to her breakfast and some coffee. Then she saw that there was some post for her…
She saw… that there was one from school and another one… related to… her guardian?
A frown appeared on her face. First, she checked the school one.
When ahe read the content her eyes slightly widened. It said that the school is out for a week because they need to readjust the curriculum because of recent developments…
'It said recent developments…not as singular…'
This was the time that she realised that no… this is not a dream! All that stuff indeed happened!
However… nothing has changed!!!
Rin started to think deeply about what this meant. Outer Gods suppose to be creatures which are beyond any set of norms with their actions! They suppose to be horrible beings who break people's minds just by trying to look at one!
If they get conquered that world is gone… yet…here she is… continuing to live like nothing has happened!
After checking the letter from school she checked another one which was related to her guardian.
'That fake priest is found dead? What in…'
Rin sighed… there was a request to visit the police…because of this.
'Well, I suppose I should visit them and see how the city has changed…'
It's still strange how…nothing majorly happened to Earth!
After finishing her coffee and food the Tohsaka Heiress left her home and started to walk towards the closest bus station.
As she was walking towards there her eyes scanned for the surroundings. It was quite a beautiful day. It wasn't too cold or warm. The temperature was simply good for this time of the year.
Everything was the same, there was no sign of any sort of destruction. There was an invasion just yesterday evening. There is nothing about that… the only indication that anything of interest happened was that people know…
'Or do they? They can simply think this is too much and simply deny it…' As she thought about that she eventually arrived at the bus station and looked at the map and the destinations…
'Hmm? Victory square? First time hearing about this…' Rin thought about this for a few moments before she realised that this might as well be something related to yesterday's battle.
Sure enough, she decided to see this…Victory Square…
~~~

The Tohsaka Heiress looked at quite a wide square crafted from some sort of material unfamiliar to her. It had statues made from some sort of blue material.

This place was that dead park! Now, however, it is a City Square.

The statues were neither, regular metal nor some organic thing. It's more like… luxury material?... Sapphire!?

Rin quickly walked over and inspected the thing up close and personal.

There was a statue of a huge serpentine dragon-like being. On top of its head, there was a man, as if riding this thing. While facing him were two… distinctive looking…Heroes…

'[Battle for Earth]

Marcus Goldman on top of his mount, John the Leviathan facing against Gilgamesh, King of Heroes and Enkidu the Chain of Heavens.'

The black-haired girl read what was written on the carved plate.

"John…who names a Leviathan… a god-like creature… like that!" Rin said to herself with disbelief. There was quite a bit of silliness in her tone.

This was hilarious and… honestly, terrifying… this was an Outer God they were conquered by! And yet…

The girl looked around and saw people treating this place as another tourist destination.

However… she could see at least a few Police constables patrolling this place.

Now she wonders… how did government has changed? How did magic reveal change this? What is the direction this world is going now?

Now she knows it's going where he wants it to go, but the thing is… how much freedom do these people have?

She knows very well that this being can strip them of all movement AND even affect thought process. Most likely rewire the entire population as he sees fit.

As Rin was thinking about this she was walking towards the Police Department. But then she saw quite a bit of people crowding around something.

The girl slowly walked over there, wanting to see what this is.

Eventually, her eyes landed on where they were watching.

And that TV screens at an electronics store. They can see the news being directly broadcasted there.

The Heiress started to read the headlines and the subtitles.

'God-Emperor Marcus ordered the Diet to come up with the curriculum for all the learning institutions regarding magic, they will be working alongside the Clock Tower, it has to be finished by the end of this week…'

As Rin read the headlines she was utterly gobsmacked by this.

Why would an Outer God give freedom to do such a thing!? Why is he doing this!?

'He is behaving like an Absolute Ruler… an Active role? Like a God?

Actively participating, by allowing them to believe that they have some sort of choice they would listen to him more openly? No need to rewire their minds? This honestly… doesn't make any sense to me… its a Foreigner… a being from a completely different plane of existence… '

The Tohsaka Heiress was more confused than ever before. She can't understand the actions of this being at all…

Though these were not the only headlines… other ones are that humanity was ordered to begin merger into economical blocks and eventually into a singular super nation, Earth Federation under United Nations.

Then, this was not the end either! The next thing is the new Moons, the domains of Gods. Now… when people die they know where they will go. They can end up in the underworld related to their beliefs. Those who don't believe in any specific lesser God and prefer Marcus himself. They will end up in the main underworld.

What Rin noticed that… there are no discussions about… if they don't believe in anything?

Well, they can't simply not believe in someone who invaded and took over entire reality…

Regardless this was quite informative to the Tohsaka Heiress for the simple reason that they know where they end up if they die.

There is an actual cycle of life and death. Which is… interesting in a sense.

'Does Marcus Goldman about people who don't wish for eternal lifespan? Why would Outer God care about ants?

Is he treating humanity like how a person cares about his pet?' Rin was getting more and more confused about this. This doesn't make any sort of sense! Nothing she read about Outer God's explain this! It's like… this is not Outer God at all!

'Maybe he is not? He has a Westerner name… maybe a human who ascended to realms of godhood?'

The more she thought about this the more it made sense that he cares about humanity… why he is giving the illusion of autonomy.

Rin continued to watch this little bit more. She learned that the weather from now on is stable, no more natural disasters…

Pollution has been removed, forests regrown.

However, not everything was 'paradise-like', law-breaking of any kind, punishments for those are cruel in all lands inhabited by humans.

The way the newscaster said it sounded weird to Rin sure enough she learned about the… gateways. Archway portals allow people to travel to different planets.

For now, it's nothing more than… holiday destinations, and ways to check out some crazy things. At least what the reporter said as there are videos of worlds purely of water and where huge monsters live.

Rin was wondering…when did these people find time to go there? Didn't the conquest happen yesterday?

Well, it didn't matter…

The Heiress decided she needs to process this first, and then maybe think about what to do next.

'Right… the police station visit…' For a second she facepalmed and started walking there.

~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
The black-haired girl looked with awe at how her Magecraft was working this smoothly!
'I can barely feel any mana consumption! This is incredible!'
Not only magecraft was super cheap now to make mana-wise, but elements were easy to manipulate as well! especially water! It's like… she is part of it!
'Hmm, maybe I am… Marcus Goldman used water monsters to invade and his Servant… which I think was called Morgan le Fay… if it's true according to several legends she is related to Fairy of the Lake. Again, water element.' Rin thought to herself.
Now that she has somewhat calmed down, she was able to think somewhat more reasonably without utter fear for her life.
So far her observation resulted in her believing that Marcus Goldman. Again, a very human name, is a being similar to Outer God and is not one of those freaky space gods.
If this is true, then… Rin is going to try to enrol into a possible army of his. Raise through ranks and hopefully end up one of his assistants of some sorts. This way she will have the greatest access to improve her Magecraft!
This is… however, if he is truly a reasonable being. If he is…then… this is going to be the greatest opportunity in her life so far! Something she can't possibly miss this!
And just like that… Rin's fear got replaced by hope and the possibility for something grand!
