Chapter 11

The trio were walking through the streets of London. The blondes were looking at everything with a huge amount of interest.

"This is Londinium… it's huge… so many people…" The Blonde Fae said that as she saw how many people are moving in both directions. They were in the very city centre not far from the Parliament House and Big Ben.

"...If you not going to eat and I can take care of it." The Saber version of Artoria said with a serious look on her face.

"Eh? No! I can finish it myself!" The Caster pulled her ice cream away and quickly started to eat it.

As she was doing that Saber was quite disappointed. However, she quickly forgot about that and instead, her gaze went to the city they were right in.

The amount of people, the feeling of being busy life, this didn't feel like Conquered reality, this doesn't feel like a world under the control of a ruthless being!

"You know the best part?" Marcus leaned towards her and whispered into her ear.

"What is it?"

"None of the natural disasters will ever affect these people's lives."

Her eyes for a second widened.

"...You won't allow any of that to happen?" She asked him with a curious tone. The blonde never expected he will do something like this.

"No. None of those. I am moving this society towards complete unification. This will serve me well in future conquests. By the time it's done, I will have a huge army of magic soldiers with powerful concepts and mysteries."

She got quite serious when she heard him, the King of Knights want some clarification for these people. She is feeling responsible that they got conquered like this because of her.

"You going to weaponise the whole race?"

"Not at all. I will give them a focus. Humanity is all about progress and innovation. Without a clear goal, they will aimlessly wander and eventually destroy themselves.

This is why I am not directly intervening, instead, I am simply giving orders and reasonable deadlines for them to work with."

As the blonde Saber heard that she relaxed quite a bit. This doesn't sound too bad.

"Why don't we explore more of the capital of Britain?" As he said that he offered his hand to her.

Artoria slightly looked at the outstretched hand. There was some nervousness there. Eventually, she did accept it.

Of course, he didn't leave the Caster version out as the blonde was enjoying her ice cream, so he called her and told her to follow him.

It was time to check out other places in the city centre.

~~~
Marcus has shown the pair all the iconic buildings of the city. From the London Eye to the Massive St.Paul Cathedral.
Not only that but he explained about the buildings, their history, and iconic events which happened in these places.
As they were walking around the Planewalker even explained the time gap between Artoria's time to modern days and what kind of events happened.
In a sense. He was giving her closure.
To top it up… he decided to take the pair where her ancient castle was supposed to be.
The journey is quite long and he decided to let them enjoy it fully. After all the trains and buses are quite comfortable to travel in.
"...Shouldn't you take Morgan with us? Isn't… she, your wife?" After some time as Artoria was looking through the window of the rapidly moving train. She asked him.
This was getting strange for her, and she was getting uncomfortable with him pampering her like this instead the dark witch he is treating like his wife.
"...You don't understand Morgan. Her spending time like this would be torture. As Fae Queen who hates humans spending time around them is torture. She would turn trigger-happy and would enjoy blowing up everything she sees.
Someone like her, she enjoys different kinds of 'dates'." He said to her as he looked through the window as well.
"I see… though you shouldn't waste your time like this." While Artoria didn't understand what is 'date' she was more concerned about him wasting his time like this!
"Oh? You don't like this?"
"!?"
"No. I am saying there is no need for things like that?"
"You didn't answer my question."
"...I like this. And appreciate it." Saber said that with small embarrassed blush. It's always embarrassing when someone asks her what she likes!
"Well, then it was worth it. You needed your closure so we doing it."
"What do you mean?" Artoria asked curiously as she looked at him.
"I know your story. I know the fourth war, I know that you almost won it, and I know how would the fifth one end as well."
Her eyes went big when she heard that. Her whole body shivered as she had flashbacks of Lancelot being a Berserker, Rider's and Archer's words.
And then the betrayal of her Master at the very last moment!
"..."
"The reason Kiritsugu used those command seals to destroy the grail was because it was cursed. And the fifth war would have ended the same way, you would have used your sword to purge the grail as otherwise the curses from the cup would have burned the world."
She gulped down hearing that. Honestly, if this was coming out from someone more… human in some way she would have questioned him. But… this was a being who conquered the whole plane and can force her and the rest of humanity to do whatever he wants. There is no reason for him to lie to her…
Well, that is what she is thinking, anyway.
Thankfully he told her in detail everything about the grail wars after! Which mind-boggling her how these Magus people were laying about the whole thing so that they could just get their access to the Root.
'Well, this doesn't matter anymore… this world is under Marcus' control. There are no more Grail wars…' Artoria thought to herself as she decided to let that thing go.
"What about the Magus people? What did you decide to do to them?"
After her question, he explained to her how the world is changing. Again… she was impressed how he decided to use and abuse these Magus bastards. In a sense, she felt gleeful that he is making them work to the bone to spread the foundation of magic to the rest.
It was satisfaction to her for all that laying they did! And that traumatic battle Royale she had to go through for nothing!
He continued to explain what he is going to do with the world. Perfectly honest… she was satisfied. No more food shortages, no more wars between themselves, no more natural disasters. Not only that… he even gave them bigger purpose… while selfish… they still belong to him. After all, he conquered the plane.
Once the explanations were over… he started to talk about something which made Artoria drool. And that was all the food the British have acquire through their conquests.
Now…she was giddy to visit the restaurants!
The best part in all of this was that Marcus owned everything… she can eat as much as she wants!!!
~~~

Artoria looked at the remains of her castle. She slowly walked around what has remained of this place.

"...This… now… I truly…. It like a slap to tell me that I was in future." As she said that she looked at a brownish wall full of moss. She knows this is her castle but… which part of it? This was ridiculous in a sense.

Her gaze swept everything. She used her memories to see and compare what has left of it.

The same was with the Caster version of Artoria who looked at this very curiously.

'This is remains of Camelot…'

She thought internally with a gulp. Even in Fairy Britain, she heard about this castle. Now, it doesn't look so majestic… all that is left of the majestic citadel is nothing more than a few walls grown up with moss and ready to crumble completely soon.

"These are the walls of the main keep. Outer walls used to go through there—" The blonde King of Knights started to tell how this place used to be.

From where the walls used to be to the buildings in the inner castle, where the stables, blacksmith and other buildings, where the towers used to be which were used by Merlin and Morgan before she left the place.

Everything. The Fae version of Artoria listened to her explanation with bated breath while Marcus tried to imagine it without using his powers.

He allows for Artoria to be in her element this will help her to open up to him. He did notice throughout the day that she is less stiff and more natural.

After telling everything he brough the blonde to another special place.

"This is…"

"Your supposed grave."

Artoria Pendragon, The King of Knights turned completely stiff. As she looked at her supposed grave. Her counterpart looked at this with a somewhat weird look. This… was truly strange.

Truthfully they were not alone. Other tourists were checking the place out as well.

"Do you believe Supreme Lord will bring King Arthur back?" One of the tourist girls said with a hopeful tone.

"Why? Dont you think a King like him should rest? Why brought him back?" A guy asked her curiously. Both Artorias listened in curiously. While Marcus simply smirked. He loves the fact that no one can see who he truly is. It's a unique version of something similar to the 'Notice-me-not' charm of the Harry Potter universe.

They all simply think that he is a lucky guy going out with pair of beautiful twins.

"Because heroes are real! I think…mages called them… Servants? So! I do not doubt that Supreme Lord back bring the greatest King of England!?" The girl who looked no older than 16 said with a giddy tone. Excited with all the magic stuff happening around her! Sure couple of days ago it was a little bit scary, but! Now it's all curiosity and giddiness for some magical stuff!

The guy simply snorted while Artoria shook her head in amusement.

She doesn't even know what is England, and this girl says that King Arthur was the greatest King of England!

However, it was great to hear that after her castle has turned into barely recognisable ruins, her name is still remembered by people and they still come to check this place out.

"Amusing isn't it?" Marcus said whispered into the Artoria's ear.

"That's the true legacy you know. Kingdoms, empires, and even civilisations fall but people keep on living on and they pass down stories from before. Just like yours."

She slowly nodded in understanding. This made sense.

"True. However, it gets… blurred out." She said with a small frown. She has no understanding of what this 'England' is! Yet, they called her one of the greatest Kings of England.

"It is. Many things get blurred out. However, the key of the myth remains."

"I suppose… but… you are here. Can't you… straighten them out?" She asked him with…almost borderline cute pout.

"...what for?"

"... It's strange! I have no understanding of what is this England! I was King of Britain, not this…whatever it is!" She said that nearly stomping on the ground.

Marcus simply chuckled before grabbing her by the waist and pulling her towards the bus station.

"We can talk about this over the food."

The moment he mentioned 'Food' she was much more understanding and controllable. Instead, she started asking about the food her homeland has now. What they have developed and what kind of dishes they created from lands they have conquered.

Simply put… she sounded now like a gourmet tester.

That moment Marcus imagined her as a food tester in Hell Kitchen, it would be hilariously serious stuff. King Arthur himself is testing your food!

"Master…why are you smirking?" Artoria Avalon asked from the side as she saw him smirk.

"I imagined your faces when you taste some Mexican stuff." He said the very first thing which came to his mind. Hell Kitchen can wait. They first need to understand the human world properly.

"Hmm? What is this 'Mexican'?"

"Is it a Kingdom?"

The pair started asking him curiously about the country on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

You could say Saber was baffled to hear there are two more continents on the other side of this huge Ocean!
