Chapter 4

"… you never told me your name." Liu Fei asked him while looking away from him. This was so embarrassing that she can't even put it into words. Thankfully they were walking instead of some intimate position!

They have been doing naughty things for a few days and only now she remembered that she doesn't know his name!

She wants to find a corner and hide there!

"...Oh, right you never asked me. It's Chen Long." He introduced himself to her.

"Good to know… you already know mine. Regardless, it's Liu Fei. So we going to hunt, anything specific?" She asked him curiously as they had been walking towards where the wild forest starts

Liu Fei was in First of the Ling Qi Layer and Chen Long was in the Second Ling Qi Layer. Their fighting strength is considerable.

"Nothing of that sort we are here to increase my cultivation."

"Increase your cultivation? By fighting?" She asked with a confused look.

"No. My Martial Spirit allows me to drain cultivation."

"...You… you are truly an Demonic Cultivator!"

"My Martial Spirit comes with perks to Death, Life, Dark and Spirit-based arts. The Qi draining is nothing difficult once you grasp the basics."

"...even so people will hunt you down when they notice what you can do!" Liu Fei said with some anxiety.

"This is why I am prepared." He put on his hood on. That moment his face completely disappeared.

"I will be hard to be noticed." He spoke with a distorted voice.

He pulled out a mask for her.

"The mask will change your hair and eye colours. As long as you don't use recklessly your bow and arrow martial Spirit we are in the clear." As he said that he handed over the mask, Liu Fei put it on. That moment her hair turned black and her eyes turned yellow.

The girl inspected herself while looking at an arrowhead. She saw her reflection in it. Her hair was black now. Lush black like midnight.

'Impressive… but how does he get these though? Same with his house… all that furniture.'

As she thought about it they entered the forest and started to look for some prey!

As the pair progressed into the forest they got face-to-face with their first beasts.

This was the first time Chen Long saw a beast of Cultivation world in a person.

It was a group of apes.

"...It appears luck is not on our side!" Liu Fei said with a frown on her face.

"Those are Rank Eight Ferocious beasts, Brutal Apes."

'Oh… equivalent to Eight Qi Layer.' Chen Long thought to himself.

"This is fine, take your shooting positions. While I use my Death Qi."

The beauty could only nod at him as she jumped on a tree and pulled out her bow and arrow ready to shoot.

Same time Chen Long summoned his Lich King Martial Spirit and released a torrent of blackish-grey wave of energy.

The effects were instantaneous as the Apes started to struggle with the effects of this energy. They started to shake their heads and started to age and rot right in front of their eyes!

'Gods… what kind of power is this! He is only Second of Ling Qi Layer!'

Regardless some of the apes started to rush towards him but Chen Long gathered the energy in his hand before releasing several spheres of concentrated Death Qi.

Upon the impact, the beast's furs turned white and collapsed on the ground… dead… from old age…

Others died as if life was sucked out of them. This was because Chen Long's control over his Death Qi was still very basic. So it's either life drain or rapid ageing. One of those will bring that death.

Sure enough, the whole group of over 10 apes were killed in just under 30 seconds. Then the teen walked over to the closest ape and pointed his hand at the corpse. Black energy rushed into the corpse and one could see how he started to draw some sort of white energy from the recently deceased ape.

He did all that to the whole group of 10 Brutal Apes.

"... let's go. I am close to reaching the Third of Ling Qi Layer."

Liu Fei internally gulped down seeing this. There wasn't much left of these beasts…

"Their cores or furs?"

"Not worth it. I drained their cultivation and the furs are damaged from rapid ageing."

"...Then we only here to improve your cultivation base…"

"That's what I said."

"...Then what's the point of me being here in the first place?" She said with a small pout.

"I was pretty sure I already said the reasons…"

She sighed hearing that. Yes, she knows already but it feels like a waste of time for her!

"Me already giving you Ling Qi pills already makes it up. So do behave."

The disguised pink-haired girl sighed. And decided to just follow him around and look around just in case she notices anything.

'So this is how it feels like being something akin to married to someone. It can get annoying.' Off handily she compared this to a marriage.

The pair walked directly deeper into the mountainside. Encountering beasts which were at Ling Qi Layer. Those were harder to deal with and Liu Fei was even giving Chen Long ranged support.

Regardless this only lasted for a short while until Chen Long broke through Third, and then Fourth of Ling Qi Layer.

By the time it was morning. Since they left at night time, the Teen was quite powerful. Fourth Ling Qi Layer is not a joke in this sect. Only the Protectors and Grand Elder are at Xuan Qi Layer everyone else is later Stages of Ling Qi Layer.

This makes him already a core disciple by this point.

"Should we continue the hunt? Or you want to gather some loot yourself?" Chen Long asked her. He was feeling quite generous for reaching the realm he was in.

"...Oh? Well… I would… but your fighting style is quire brutal…" she remembered seeing how Ling Qi Layer beasts having their flesh rot and fall off their bones… it was simply horrifying. This makes her realise that she does not want to fight him… ever…

"I have other techniques, not just Death Qi." He said that with an eye roll as he showed his Green Fire which was burning on top of his palm.

"...Does it only burn?"

"...it decays instead of burning."

"So it's the same as your Death Qi." She said with a deadpan tone.

*Sigh*

"I can support you with barriers you know." Here he wants to help her but she gets picky on him. Maybe he should just bring her back home and start spanking training session?

"Oh… those." She had realising look as she remember how he stopped her arrow.

"Besides…" He now grabbed her chin and pulled her closer. She was forced to look to void mist which was his face now thanks to the runes on his hood.

"I was being considered if you wanted to train while fighting those beasts in proper combat instead of support but appears you like spitting at the support I am offering."

She had nervous look now that she realised that. She quickly bowed her head at him.

"N-No! I mean your attacks waste the resources we are collecting! Um… I am just not that good at explaining things! Okay!?" His words started to get under her skin which made Chen Long smirk internally.

It's part of the grand plan to tame this bitchy girl. First to show that he can be cruel and then show bits of kindness and consideration in his case.

The thing about any sort of female is that they like the kindness shown towards them. Some girls are blind to it. Regardless, they will seek it. And since he is now pointing it out it makes her conscious.

"Now you explaining? We going to work on how to express yourself otherwise I will end up spanking you for your shortcomings."

"...S-Spanking?" She exclaimed with disbelief. She is not a small child! That is just humiliating!

"Well, you need to remember. The best way to make someone remember things is to make sure it's done through certain actions. A mental trauma is too much so instead one is done through humiliation." He explained his short-term plan to her. Which only made her gulp down.

"...as expected from Demonic Cultivator. You know how to play mental games!" She was impressed and terrified at the same time!

"Please. That's basic, true expert could make people play on top of their palm." He snorted, remembering one of the Princes of Xue Yue. That dude is not a bad schemer. Though, at the moment the necromancer teen is still under the radar, that prince will only notice Chen Long once he gets into the Capital. Until then he should be okay.

"...if you say so, why don't we continue? You can support me with your barriers?" She asked him this time with a much nicer tone. It appears his training starting to show itself. Though he will continue to watch her closely, wait for her to slip and then he will might as well do that spanking he was thinking of doing.

Sounds of shattering trees spread through the forest side as a group of five people stopped in their tracks as they heard that!

"This… this sounds like a battle of some sort?" A tall and robust guy dressed in Yun Hai Sect's ordinary disciple uniform said with quite a serious tone.

"It sounds like trees were blasted out. That's some serious power. Probably a Ling Qi Layer cultivator." Another guy with a sword in hand said with some distress. This was way above their power!

"Should we turn around?" The only girl in the group said with some worry.

"So? We can always just observe from distance. Not like we trying to do anything." The one who said that was dressed in white clothes if standing out from the rest of the Yun Hai Sect members. He looked arrogant. As if he owns the place.

He was quite annoying to the other four people. Though they all accept him because of his Eight Qi Layer cultivation.

The one who didn't comment was a teen with a sword over his shoulder. This was Lin Feng. He was curious but same time weary. Ling Qi Layer was still something he can't fight.

In the end, curiosity won as they walked closer to the source of the explosions.

Sure enough, they saw a Ling Qi beast running away from a girl who had a bow in her hands. She had a white layer of energy around her. Showing that she was a Ling Qi Layer expert but her robes were that of Ordinary Disciple…

This was strange, but not unheard of. There are several disciples at that layer at this moment who are not Elite disciples.

However, this means that this girl will be attending Elite Disciple exams which will happen in another four or so months.

All five of them with shock looked at the sky, they saw a man dressed in black and green STANDING on air! His voice was distorted but they can tell that this guy was powerful! None of them have seen anything like this before! Is he a Xuan Qi Layer cultivator!?

"Senior our apologies for disturbing you like this!" The tall and burly man cupped his hands the rest four followed after him. They quickly left after doing that.

Though the one who looked back was the teenager with a sword on his back. He was marvelled by whatever technique he was using just to stand in the air.

However… the fox who was a cunning beast by nature saw the five weaklings walking away swiftly and started to run towards them.

"Oh no, you don't!" The girl with a bow shouted as she released several arrows at the fox. The nibble creature answered back with agile movement which made it dodge all the shoots.

This meant that the fox has a clear way to attack the five ordinary disciples!

But that moment a translucent wall appeared right in front of the fox which eyes widened with shock!

The Ling Qi beast had no chance to dodge that! It slammed into the newly erected wall.

That moment the archer girl quickly shot a powerful arrow with her bow which shattered the skull of the fox.

This made the beat collapse… instantaneous death.

'What power… I could not even follow the arrow!' The teenager with sword thought with a frown. He still needs more training!

While the rest of his companions were a little bit terrified of this close encounter with death!
