Chapter 3

After several hours of training, Raynold brough Kiana back to her bed.

"Poor girl, you didn't need to put her through such a grinder." His mother said from behind him.

"As if I did anything. She is as stubborn as I am. Maybe even more." He said with quite a proud tone. He was very satisfied with her drive to be strong.

"I see…however, do remember that she is just a girl."

"I know, this is why I expect my parents to pamper her." He said with an eye roll.

"That doesn't need to be even mentioned." His mother said with a huff.

He simply nodded at her before a wormhole appeared in front of him.

"I will be going away for a couple of hours. Need to do a few rounds around Siberia." He said while walking into the wormhole.

His mother just sighed seeing him pulling crazy things regularly like that. She got quite numb by this point.

Though she never gets over how perfect his control over such power is.

~~~
On the other side a gust of cold wind blew in his face, for a second the boy used his hand to cover his eyes from the wind.
He looked at the current situation. It was a blizzard with heavy snowfall.
'Well, well isn't this just perfect?'
The boy thought happily before proceeding to start training.
After reaching Golden Core Stage Raynold finally was able to feel the difference when he was practising his Taoist meditation technique, the Meditation of Heaven and Earth.
The discipline behind it is that there is balance in all things and one who is to cultivate it would be able to understand it and transcend reaching the point of observing the balance instead of being part of it.
Basically, their version of Godhood. Similar to Buddhism but different nonetheless.
But back to the meditation he started to use his Gravity while taking the stance of Heaven and Earth meditation.
Since he could not feel the influence of Gravity, like how normal people do, he would put gravity activation for later.
It's like a delayed activation. The purpose of this is that he could cast it while in his transformed form and then undo the transformation to receive the benefits.
The gravity would kick in later which would allow him to train.
This took him a while but the Honkai energy inside of him started to react after some time. He understood that this energy is very flexible and gives him what he wants.
It's almost…too easy.
After two years of this training, his gravity understands reached unparalleled levels. He grasped that gravity in the end is just a wave.
Through that, he could employ it to a borderline subconscious level.
He is nearing the point where he can employ it without transformation!
After finishing his regular gravity training he proceeded to meditate.
Not to get interrupted he would cast a pure gravity field around him, it was like a domain. But much more basic.
It's enough for him to enjoy the peace as even a blizzard can't touch him.
Though around an hour later he sensed…Honkai Beast…beasts.
The way his senses work is through Gravity. He can sense weight, moving weight. The majority of the beasts are heavy and big. The small ones people can deal with. But big ones? Those he takes care of.
His range is spread through East Europe and Siberia. Raynold keeps this place as his personal domain and hunting grounds. Few nations know that and they don't say a thing about it. The only ones who don't know are the so-called cultists Schicksal.
Though it's only a matter of time before someone slips and tells about him or they find out themselves.
For now, he is planning to enjoy his anonymity as long as possible.
"Let's see what these pests are doing."
As he said that to himself he got up his feet and the wormhole opened behind him.
He took a step back and he was transported a few thousand kilometres to the west of his location. Quite close to the Ural mountains.
What he sensed in this location made him confused for a second.
Now that he was this close his Ki senses were in range. He could sense humans? But there were not that many and there were no towns hundreds of kilometres around this location.
'Cultists are back?'
He frowned internally. The last time these morons were here they nuked the tundra. He is even certain that they are at fault for unleashing the second wild golden core cultivator which went crazy and caused all that destruction.
Their stupidity knows no bounds when they do experiments instead of trying to understand properly.
~~~

Cocolia looked at the three Honkai Beasts which were far too close to her Orphanage.

The timing was quite bad. It was just dumb bad luck that these things noticed her home.

Two chariot class beasts and one Templar class were far too much; she even needed to employ her squad. If they get far too close they will need to hide in the depths of her bunker.

"Annoying pests… get lost."

A boy's voice got her attention and her eyes widened for a second. What a child is doing here!?

Before she could tell him to run away, she witnessed three beams of light incinerating all three Honkai beasts!!!

'W-What was that!?'

The next moment all three of these things just dropped to the ground and disappeared as portions of their bodies were gone they fully dissolved into nothingness.

All she could see was a boy standing there. Dressed in simple clothes. His left hand was in his pocket while his other was out. He looked quite bored.

"W-What are you boy?"

"Same question back at you? What are you doing in the middle of nowhere? And why do I sense more lifeforms in the house behind you?" He asked her while pointing at the house with his chin.

'Sense lifeforms? What is he? How can he do that!?'

"It's my orphanage."

Her answer made him for a second be blown away.

"Oh…I see… in that case… I Might as well keep my eye on this place from time to time." He said with a sigh.

"...What are you truly?"

"Golden core stage cultivator Raynold Westwood. Anyway, I have to go. My mother will be pissed if I miss dinner. And she is more terrifying than any Honkai pest."

As he said that a portal or more like a wormhole opened behind him he then turned around and walked through it.

Leaving the stupefied woman behind!

Once he was gone she tried to process what he just said!

A few moments later several of her followers came out from their hidden locations. They were about to use military tactics to deal with these things.

But it was not necessary as this kid just popped up.

"What is a Golden Core Cultivator?" The woman asked her followers.

"Umm…"

"No idea ma'am."

"...I think… I think he is a chunni?" one of the males said while scratching the back of his head.

"A what?"

"He thinks that he is cultivating energy like those ancient stories from myths in the far east? I read some novels in my free time. I heard a similar description to what he said."

"..."

"I think…he is a Herrscher…" The guy added on the top.

"...You don't say… we've been struggling to make a Herrscher which would be under our control! Yet, there is a small kid who achieved that through his delusions!?" The woman snapped angrily! What the hell is wrong with this world!?

~~~
Kiana grinned from ear to ear as she saw how Raynold was covering in front of his mother. It appears the almighty is not that invincible!
"What time is it?"
"...Umm… just past 19:00?" He answered while looking at the clock on the wall.
"And what time should you be home?"
"...18:00 sharp?" He said with a resigned tone.
"Indeed, what is your explanation?"
"...I saved an orphanage from Honkai beasts?" He said this with the hope that it would pass. He was hopeful about that.
"That's so kind of you—"
For a second he was very hopeful!
"But how many were of these Honkai beasts?"
This time Raynold felt like someone pulled earth from under him.
'Crap, crap, crap! Balance in everything! Balance in everything! Balance in everything!' Internally he repeated the mantra of Wu-Dang Taoists. This was for him to face his fears as he can't lie. Not that he cannot but he did stupid things and made a promise before.
And he lives by his promises to keep his emotional level steady and not get carried away.
"...Three…"
"And how fast does someone at…Golden Core could defeat three?" Now the older woman grinned from ear to ear as she caught him trying to escape from his punishment.
"...Less than a minute?"
"So…why were you late, mister?"
"...I got carried away by making a lake with my powers in Easter Siberia? It was snowing hard so I was collecting snowflakes individually…. With my gravity in small fields…"
His mother's face palmed…when she heard that.
"...At least this time you were not doing push-ups on a peak of a huge mountain."
"Hey! Ural mountains are NOT that big."
"You used gravity to make it harder!" She pointed out that small detail.
"Yes…well…that too." He said that while looking away and staring at the kitchen wall.
"Anyway as punishment for missing your deadlines you will be spending time with Kiana and training just her. Not yourself. Do we have it clear?"
"...Yes…mother…" He said with a sigh before starting to mumble something to himself.
"I should get a clock that is gravity resistant." He said with another sigh as he took his seat.
"...Umm…how is that a punishment?" Kiana could not control herself and asked them. She was new to this whole family dynamic stuff…
"Because it is the best punishment. For one he will watch how you train and second I can't give him any sort of work because he will train while doing it. Over the years my punishments had to evolve to learn ways to control my son.
Isn't it right, sweety?" As she said that she looked at him who grumped at her for a bit.
"Yes, that…"
"...But… isn't he like the saviour of this place?" Kiana said with a questioning look.
"How is it related to family dynamics? If it gets to your head you would inflate for no reason." His mother said with a frown.
She is trying to make sure that her son aint mistreated just because he is a Herrscher. And that helped, now he is like the hero of a portion of Europe and Siberia from the looks of it.
"...I see… Sorry for asking." Kiana apologised out of the blue which only made his mother pull her into a hug with one hand.
Which made the white-haired girl smile for a second smile. She didn't expect the hug but it was appreciated.
~~~

After learning the dynamics of this family a few hours later Raynold's father returned and had a serious look on his face.

"...Ray…"

"Yes?"

"Ex-Soviet union military officer used her old contacts to search for 'Raynold Westwood'."

This made the boy's eyes widen for a second as he recalled a certain blonde woman he met today.

"...How specific is that?" Kiana said that from the side as she was sitting next to the boy and was using him as a heat source.

"Quite specific as my cabinet does counter-search when my son's name pops up on the net."

"Oh…I see…"

"I think I know who it is…I did save an orphanage in Siberia."

Raynold said with a shrug.

"I see…I will keep watch just in case."

The boy hummed with a nod.

"Just tell me if you pick up something questionable I will transport you there and you can speak to her." He said with not that caring shrug he doesn't see as any sort of threat.
