Chapter Twenty-two

Tang Wudi softly placed Ying Zetian on his bed and seemingly as if he is in a spell, he slowly caressed Ying Zetian's face while mumbling to himself "you are mine and nobody could touch you". Ying Zetian suddenly spasmed shocking Tang Wudi out of his spell. Tang Wudi wanted to start release the lash on Ying Zetian outer clothing when a sudden crash of the door pulls his attention towards the disturbance.

It was Ying one and Ying two that came in and they are the doctors of Ying Zetian's dark guards. Tang Wudi do not wanted Ying Zetian to be angry, so he reluctantly left the room. Ying Zetian has a strange habit of not wanting anyone to be in the room if she is sick expect for her dark guards, Ying one and Ying two. Ying one and Ying two look at each another in relief when they saw that Ying Zetian is still wearing her inner wear. Ying one and Ying two do not know that their master female identity is already known and thought that they have reached Hanlin in time to cover for their master. Ying one and Ying two then hurried to attend to their master's injuries.

Ying one and Ying two sigh to themselves while attending to their master injuries. Out of the ten dark guards of Ying Zetian, Ying one and Ying two had been with Ying Zetian the longest and they are the only one beside Tang Ying who knew that their master is actually a female. Each time they told themselves that at least one of them should be with Ying Zetian at all times. But when they see the freezing cold expression of Ying Zetian that makes her seem to be as if she is a devil from hell, they automatically could not think anymore and will obey any of their master's orders.

But Ying one and Ying two love and respect their master because of this. Ying one and Ying two knew that Ying Zetian is actually just a big softie at heart to those who are really close or loyal to her. It could be seen from the fact that despite her dark guards is supposed to even died for her.

But Ying Zetian will still always be in the forefront and take the large brunt of any attacks they go through just to ensure each of her subordinates will go home with her safely. This attack by the Song family is also the same. Ying Zetian had enforced orders to let Ying one and Ying two to deal with the rest of the dark guards' injuries before coming back to Hanlin to deal with her injuries.

Tang Wudi placed his hands on Ying Zetian's bed and cupped his face while just quietly staring at him with a besotted look on his face. When Tang Wudi was young, he never thinks twice on why he sleeps that well on the rare opportunities that Ying Zetian allows him to sleep with him. But after five years of royal palace living, Tang Wudi finally realized why he sleep so well when he was with Ying Zetian. To Tang Wudi, Ying Zetian had become an irreplaceable part of his life. Maybe it was because Ying Zetian had once saved Tang Wudi and through the years of teaching and caring had carved a permanent place in his heart.

Ying Zetian jumped when she blurrily opens her eyes and saw an enlarged face of Tang Wudi staring at her. That sudden jump pulled at Ying Zetian injuries, and it was so painful that she almost wanted to swear. But looking at the puppy dog like eyes of Tang Wudi, as usual out of the times when she was teaching him, Ying Zetian was reluctant to scold him.
