Chapter Thirty-six

It was the first time Tang Wudi and Ying Zetian really did give a solid blow to the Shuang Guan and Yang family so this was why both of them was anxious despite their surface calm. Ying Zetian knew the four gentry families power well. And Ying Zetian knew that even with Tang Wudi built up power added to her empire, she could not bring down even the weakest gentry family. At the moment, Ying Zetian knew that her built up empire could only be sufficient enough to protect herself and her loved ones.

So, all along Ying Zetian had a bigger plan in mind to at one go take down all the five gentry families including the royal family. Ying Zetian knew Tang Wudi trusted that his elder brother will also take revenge for both of them so that is why he did not go on his own revenge path. So that is why previously all the small actions Ying Zetian and Tang Wudi taken against the four gentry families were just to scratch their itch at not wanting to see the four gentry families living too peacefully. But Ying Zetian is an opportunist and if chances came her way, she would definitely take it to give a solid blow to any of the gentry families.

Seemingly as if Shuang Guan Ying had come to her senses, she starts to yell that Ying Zetian is the one who had caused her to be in such an awkward position. Ying Zetian then stopped hiding and came to the front of the crowd.

"It is well known that I am the adopted son of the Qing brothel owner. Thus, I also wonder why Miss Shuang Guan Ying said that I am the troublemaker. Who am I to have power to deal with the members of the two most powerful families in Tai Ping?" Ying Zetian said.

Shuang Guan Ying still try her best to fight to stick the troublemaker tag to Ying Zetian as she knew if it was known that she was the cause of the trouble today. Both the Shuang Guan and Yang families will not let her off.

Next day

Due to the accident last night, the hunting season could not be continued and all the people that came to the hunting grounds proceed on their way back to Changan. The journey back to Changan was halfway done when Ying Zetian notices on how quiet the forest around them had become.

Suddenly at least four dozen black robed killers come out from the forest beside them. Extremely fast in the fight, the people notice that the killers aim were in fact Tang Wudi and Ying Zetian and they rush away from them with the speed of light leaving an empty space around Tang Wudi and Ying Zetian. Tang Zhong saw that the killers were also after his favorite sons, so he orders for the imperial guards to go into the battle.
