Chapter Fifty-One 

In Tai Ping, there is a love story passed down from the previous fallen dynasty. The previous fallen dynasty span for seven hundred years which the first three hundred years, the citizens were living a life of peace and prosperity. It was said that the founder of the previous fallen dynasty was actually a poor scholar who fallen in love with the daughter of a high-ranking official. The daughter was willing to live the life of poverty with this poor scholar and was the greatest support of this poor scholar who later founded the previous fallen dynasty. But the daughter did not survive until the founding of the previous fallen dynasty.

It was said the founder of the previous fallen dynasty to commemorate their love order for his empress to be pray to as a goddess. And as time passed, the story become that of the empress was in fact the daughter of the empress of the heavens and the founder become that of a lowly heavenly soldier. It was said that the emperor of the heavens loves his daughter, so he allows them to go down to earth to be a normal human couple for one lifetime.

After this lifetime when the human emperor and empress went back to the heavens, they will be forever apart. But it was said that one day, a village in the mountains dream of a female deity appearing in the dreams of the whole village and begged the village couples to on a special day to release lanterns on the river or into the sky and to carve a lock with the couple's name and placed it on a bridge. The female deity gives the reason as if enough of human couples do as what she begged for, her mother will allow her to meet the founding emperor on a bridge in heaven for the special day that she mentioned.

The founder of the previous fallen dynasty was a highly respected emperor so thus this day become the white valentine day where couples will do as the female deity wishes. This day could pass on to Tai Ping as it was said that couples who did as what the female deity wishes would have a high rate of a happy marriage. When Ying Zetian and Tang Wudi heard of this story, they both sneer at this story. Ying Zetian and Tang Wudi knew that the existence of this story came from the people of this country wishes for a peace and prosperous life. And why this story is so popular is because of the fact that the country government could not achieve what its people wishes for.

And as people fear the authority, this story is the people of this country another way of sneering at the government. But Tang Wudi wanted to believe in the love that the story represented instead of its political side after he fallen into the love river with Ying Zetian. So, Tang Wudi on the spot decided to celebrate the festival with Ying Zetian today. Although Tang Wudi is a firm believer in human strength more than believing in the gods, but for the sake of his happy marriage with Ying Zetian one day, he decided to try his luck at believing the gods for one day.

By the time Tang Wudi had think finished, Ying Zetian is already in front of the candy store and watching the stall holder clearly making the shapes of her and Tang Wudi. When Tang Wudi saw the expression of childish excitement on Ying Zetian face, he knew that Ying Zetian had already forgotten her anger at him. Tang Wudi grinned as he walks towards Ying Zetian and held her hand, it was just too easy to let Ying Zetian forgot anything when she come to face with something that she was interested in.

Tang Wudi knew that one of Ying Zetian list of things that she really cannot learn is cooking so when she came to face with such masters, she will forgotten everything that was previously in her mind. Ying Zetian highly respected skilled masters who could with their skilled hands cook out dishes of fabulous food. And this candy maker who used melted malt candy liquid to make shapes of Ying Zetian and Tang Wudi fallen into Ying Zetian list of people to respect.
