Minan was unable to move as he stared at the pearl gray creature that was rising in ghastly silence from the water. The smooth motion appeared as something otherwordly and wierd and the water around it was so still it served as a perfect mirror, so that rather than an object complimented by a reflection, it appeared as two huge white figures sprouting from a midpoint and growing in opposite directions, while floating in pitch black darkness.
As the creature rose, beautiful white wings unfolded from around its body, like the petals of the a flower, and spread into the air.
Everything was still, the birds quiet, the roots of the trees quivered with anticipation, as the figure finally emerged fully and sat on the line of the water. It crooked its long neck to look at the child as it floated towards him.
