The steps were hard for Rosa, but she forced herself to stay straight. The sweat drops increased on her face, making drops fall to the ground from her chin. The pain from the hurt parts is straining her to make her walk slower than usual.
‘just a little.... just one more step…’ the sentence played in her mind.
‘I will collapse after I cross over to the other side.’ She soothed her crying brain, which wanted to rest.
Her feet stepped over the threshold. Two more steps on the other side were all the strength she had. Her head started to get dizzy. Her body wobbled. She struggled to maintain her body posture, but her body decided not to listen to her anymore. It let go of the balance.
As Rosa braced herself for the impact with the ground, a hand grabbed her from the waist, pulling her to lean on his side. “Lean on me. Sir Rosa.”
His hand was firm, steading her to walk by his side.
Rosa relaxed a bit, “Thank you, your highness.”
