It was a bright morning and it was currently around eight o’clock. I went to move but was met with a little resistance and as I looked down I saw Amida’s head on my chest. I started to get flustered which unfortunately, was when she woke up before I could move her. “Hey Jack, why are you red?” she asked before she looked down and saw where she was. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to!” she said panicking but I assured her that it was okay and we both calmed down. Then we both got up and got ready, separately of course, before we went to get breakfast. On the way there she started asking me more questions, “So, how long do you think killing the Queen will take?” she asked as we walked. “Well, it could be weeks, months, hell even years,” I said back to her with my usual expression. “However, we’ve already killed two of her council members so it may not take super long if it’s as easy to kill the rest as it was to them,” I said right after. “It’s gonna be nice watching her head roll from her body,” when I said that I could hear Amida tense up. “Sorry, I shouldn’t talk like that,” as I apologized to her. “No, it’s alright, I mean I understand why you want to kill her,” she said as we were near the diner we were gonna get breakfast at. “But maybe we shouldn’t talk about that out in the open, you know because people are always listening,” I turned around to see if anyone was listening but I couldn’t see anybody.
We went inside and took a seat away from all the other patrons that way we wouldn’t be heard, as well as making sure there were no cameras and ordered our food. “So, what’s our next move, Jack?” she asked me. “It’s to continue onward to the other half of the island,” I told her and she looked a little lost. “You know, so we can get to the others, remember?” she had a “Oh, yeah” look on her face. “There’s a river that goes from this town to one on the other side of the island alright, so it shouldn’t take long,” I said quietly. “Well where in the town is the river?” she asked me with a curious look on her face. As I was getting ready to answer her I hear the door slam open, a group of Bandit-esque individuals walked into the restaurant, looking to start trouble. There seems to be only a small group, around five or six of them but there could be more either outside or doing something else. “Alright, everyone who doesn’t want to die today, hand over all of your valuables,” the biggest one said menacingly, probably scaring the patrons other than us of course.
The people towards the front started to hand over jewels, necklaces, rings, and money. Which for a small town like this, I’m kind of surprised by how much they had. Then one of the bandits noticed us sitting in the back just watching them steal from the others. “You two, give us what you have or die,” the fat bandit said. “No you pig, now go back to your trough,” I said to him which made him angry. I stood up as he came at me with a medium sized sword only for me to step aside, catch his wrist, and stab him with his own blade. When I did that the other five bandit’s looked at me with anger and that’s when Amida stood up to join me in the fight which was about to occur. The biggest of the five that were left commanded the other four to attack us, “So, I assume you’re their leader, correct?” I asked as I took a knife from the table closest to me and stabbed one of the bandits in the neck. “You’re going to regret crossing us!” he yelled as I snapped the neck of the last bandit that had come after me. “Amida, did you deal with your two?” I asked. “Yeah, they weren’t really tough,” she said as she killed the last one. The Bandit leader probably realized he was now alone because he tried to book it out of the place, only to be stopped by my foot connecting with his face.
The look on his face as I moved my foot away from his face was pure terror but I couldn’t blame him for being scared seeing as I killed all of his friends and was about to exterminate him. “Please don’t kill me, please!” he begged, only for his words to fall upon deaf ears. I pulled out the dagger he kept on his side and slit his throat, I did it quick and effortlessly. I stood up and looked at Amida and she threw me a rag, “You got a little something here,” she said as she pointed to the blood on my face. “Thank you Amida,” I said and I wiped off my face. I felt eyes staring into the back of my head, so I turned around and saw the entire restaurant looking at us. “Thank you both for dealing with those ruffians,” said the restaurant owner. “They’ve been plaguing us for weeks,” he finished. “Look, it’s no problem,” I said and Amida finished, “Yeah, we’re happy to help,” she said. “Your meal is on the house as thanks for killing the bandits,” the owner said. “As I said before, no problem,” as I finished wiping all of the blood off of my face and hands.
We ended up leaving and we were walking in the direction of the river. “You know, it felt good helping those people,” Amida said. “Yep, and we’ll be helping even more by killing off the Queen and putting an end to her chapter in this world's history book,” I said back. We finally reached the river, although the walk felt unbearable we finally made it to our destination. “So, onto the other half of the island right?” she asked. “Yep, and onto our next move,” I said.
