the pain of time

Rachael bit her lip to stop the tears threatening to come down her cheeks as she stared at the heart breaking scene in front of her. She clutched her chest and turned away. Her back to the glass window and one hand smothering her sobs. Soon an old friend appeared in front of her and gathered her into his warm arms. He consoled her and whisked them away to the safety of her office where she could cry and no soul could hear her.

Carl waited patiently for his student to calm down her sobs to sniffles then he passed her tissues. She took them gratefully and let all the blockage blow out until the need to cry disappeared completely.
