Missing our Hotelier

"Jung-Nan, I let you have that girl in this house because you always wanted a daughter but it would not mean that I will make her my real daughter. A person on a low level remains on a low level, they cannot get up to Shim's level easily." Min-Hoon had that so-called pride in his voice.

"Don't you dare talk to me after this." Jung-Nan said and ran out of the room.

Dong-Hoon and Ji-Hoon wanted to go behind their mother to console her heart but Min-Hoon stopped them. "She will be fine in some time but you remember what I said Dong-Hoon, I don't like to repeat my words and it would be more satisfactory for me if you manage to be with Eun-Bi." his father warned him yet again.

"Rest assured dad." he gulped down the saliva with nervousness.

"You can go now." and he rushed out the room to his mother.

...

Jung-Nan was sitting on the sofa in the lounge without any expressions. "Mom." Dong-Hoon called her to get her attention.

She sighed looking at him. "What now?" and asked him.

"Don't feel burdened by dad's words. I know he did not mean any words and he just said so that I would not go near her. Don't worry I will not give you guys any more trouble. I will not fight with her anymore so dad will not say these words again, hmmm." he caressed her back, knowing her heart would be hurting badly right now.

"Then what about you, I know you like her." she said to him as the corner of her lips withered down.

"I think you and father have some kind of misunderstanding here. I don't like her and I will never like her." he pursed his lips.

"You might not have realized it but I have seen in your eyes, sometimes you look at her and forget about your surroundings. The attraction you guys have is hidden under all the quarrels. Once you stop you will realize it." Dong-Hoon sighed shaking his head.

"I am your mother Dong, I know you better. I know that you hate the fact that she is a chef." Dong-Hoon looked away hearing that, it was the truth. If she was not a chef maybe then things might have been different between them.

"But do you ever think that how can she manage it, she has asthma and cannot risk herself with the flour, it can trigger her system instantly but she still chooses to become a pâtissier because she loves baking, life is not a bed of roses Dong-Hoon, everyone has their problems, she cannot do her main work without a mask." Jung-Nan stood up from there, walking away with a hurtful expression.

Dong-Hoon ruffled his hair in frustration, why he was feeling bad now he could not understand it.

...

Since Dong-Hoon was always the one starting the fight and now that he was ignoring Se-Young, there was no quarreling in the house, not only Dong-Hoon but Se-Young sometimes felt weird.

Whenever their eyes would meet, he will just turn his gaze away normally and would not even roll his eyes at her and would not even complain when she made the food and that kept happing for the whole week.

"You seem off, what is on your mind." Yoon-Hwa came running towards her friends for some gossips.

"Please, can't you spend one day without gossips and besides, I have nothing to tell you. Go do your work." Se-Young said slowly and sighed, she was not even in the mood to talk to her friend.

"You are no fun, I guess you are missing our Hotelier?" she wriggled her eyebrows and Se-Young widened her eyes and jerked her head towards her friend. "Can you not be so delusional." Se-Young was getting annoyed.

"Don't at me. I say what I see. He has not been here to mess with you yet and you seem to miss him." she made a proud face while Se-Young just sighed, shaking her head.

...

Min-Hoon threw his files in anger. "What do they think of us. We are not small pathetic industry owners." he was shouting, his whole body was trembling with anger.

Ji-Hoon rushed into his father's office, when his PA informed him about all the commotion. "Dad, relax. I know that the situation is difficult but please don't get worked up. You are going to have high blood pressure. Please, calm down." Ji-Hoon made him sit down on his chair, giving him a glass of water.

Min-Hoon chugged the whole glass down in a swift, breathing heavily. "I am going to kill them." he said in a whisper.

"You are not doing anything. Please transfer this project to me as well. I will handle them. I don't want your health to be unwell." Ji-Hoon pated his back to stable his breathing.

"I cannot pressure you with all this stuff. You already have a lot on your plate. I can't burden you with more..." Ji-Hoon cut off his father’s words. "No dad, it is no burden, I can handle this. You just go home and relax for today, hmmm." Ji-Hoon persuaded him and sent him back to home.

Dong-Hoon was going through some papers when he heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." he saw Se-Young entering his office and his eyes widened in shock. "Good morning, Sir." Dong-Hoon knitted his eyebrows that why would she go to his office and more than anything, she called him sir, that too politely.

"What are you doing here?" his tone came out annoyed unwillingly.

"Sir, you asked me to." she said getting confused.

"What? are you imagining things now Ms. Lee?" he exhaled a deep breath, trying not to get annoyed by her.

"It is Ms. Kwon, sir." the girl in front of him said and it made him realized that the one who entered his office was not Se-Young but his PA, he widened his eyes and cleared his throat. "Yes... Ms. Kwon, I wanted you to arrange an appointment for the meeting with the landowners in the south district."
