Feeling Warm

'I am done with all your nonsense. I told you I have something important to tell you. I am leaving these divorce papers behind. Make sure to sign them. I sincerely feel sorry for you and Se-Young but I can’t wait anymore. If I don’t go now then the one that I have been waiting for would stop waiting for me, I wanted to tell this to you face to face but I don’t have enough time. I hope that you will move on and carry on with your life. Again, I am sorry but I can’t continue being with you when my heart does not belong here.

Lee Se-Jung'

After writing that letter he placed it along with the divorce papers on the coffee table so Se-Young’s mother would be able to easily see it.

He packed all his stuff and Se-Young came to him. “Where are you going?” she asked pouting not wanting to stay alone. “Nowhere, I am just picking clothes to give them to those poor people we saw yesterday.” he said caressing her hair, feeling guilty to lie to the poor soul.

“I think it is time for my princess to have a sleep in her chamber.” he said in a funny way, making Se-Young giggled and his heart wavered for a mere moment but shaking that thought off his head, he picked Se-Young up and took her to her room and tuck her in the bed. He kept patting her head until she fell asleep.

“My princess, my love, my darling. This bad guy really loves you. I hope that one day you will be able to forgive me.” he said to her sleeping self.

After that, he left the house not making a single noise.

Suddenly the whole neighborhood's electricity was gone due to some short circuit and Se-Young woke up as it was getting hot but the only thing she could see was darkness and, in a panic, she started to scream but no one was there to hear her.

Her breathing got heavier and her condition got worsen as her father forgot to give her medicine.

Wheezing profusely, she tried to get out of the bed but in the process, she fell down on the floor and although she could not see anything right then but her father’s face came in front of her. “Dad...” and only one word left her mouth and she fainted.

~End of Flashback~

“I can’t imagine what would have happened to me if my mother did not get back in time and after that, I never saw him. I just know that they had a proper divorce after that.” Se-Young was telling all this to Dong-Hoon as both of them were still in the car which was now parked outside the Shim Mansion, this time properly on their respective sides of the seat.

Dong-Hoon was not sure what to feel, the girl in front of him seemed like the strongest and weakest at the same time. “I understand everything but what if mom finds this thing out from somewhere else and you know that both of us will be doomed.” he warned her.

She swallowed with nervousness. “She has done too much for me until now, I don’t want her to worry over someone whose existence does not even matter.” she nodded in determination.

He just sighed. “I will do my best so that he will not approach you.” he gave her an assuring smile but she did not smile back at him instead, she had a contented look.

“Thank you... for saving me today and... that day as well and although we started off on the wrong page but I can see that you are a very warm person.” she took his hands in hers and squeezed them in gratefulness.

Her gaze, her looks and her gesture, everything was making it hard for him to breathe. “No need for thank you. Take it as repayment for my foolishness.” he slightly laughed to distract himself from feeling attracted towards her at the moment and Se-Young just smiled warmly.

...

Tae-Hoon heard crying noises from the other side of the curtain.

Frowning his eyebrows, he leaned his body towards the curtain stand and slid the curtain aside and found Hani crying while watching something on her laptop. He thought that she was maybe watching a sad movie or drama but still he asked as a courtesy.

“Everything fine.” Hani started to cry louder at his question making Tae-Hoon widened his eyes in panic.

“Are you fine? or are you hurt somewhere?” he stood up and went to her.

“Ur... Ursula took Ariel’s voice.” she barely said and started to cry again. Tae-Hoon was shocked and confused at the same time and he turned his gaze towards the laptop, discovering that she was watching ‘The Little Mermaid’.

“Hani, it is just a cartoon. Why are you crying?” he could not think of anything to say to her.

“Poor Ariel, it is sadddd.” she whined through her cries. “Ok, ok, it is sad but she will get her voice back. Right?” he said giving her a forced smile anticipating she will stop crying.

But she did not. “But she will sacrifice herself for the prince.” Tae-Hoon felt like hitting his head on the wall, were these those so-called mood swings? he thought.

“You know, you should not watch sad movies. Let’s watch a comedy film.” he hopped on the bed beside her and literally snatched the laptop from her.

Hani stopped crying and looked at him dumbfounded as he put a comedy film and got comfortable in the bed beside her. "I don’t want to watch comedy right now.’ she mumbled while pouting.

“You said something.” he looked at her. “No... no, give it to me. I can’t see from there.” she took the laptop from his lap and placed it on her lap very close to her belly.

“You have short-sightedness, don’t watch it without your glasses.” he picked her glasses from the side table and made her wear them and she was just looking at him with astonishment. Even though she realized that she was being silly for no reason but he still paid attention to her and her heart started to feel warm with his presence.

“What are you looking at, you cannot miss the scene.” Tae-Hoon said getting her back to reality as she smiled and looked back at the laptop which Tae-Hoon had now taken back from her into his lap.
