Battle of words

Se-Young wanted to take a bath but laid down on the bed for few minutes to clear her mind.

“Why did Dong-Hoon come into my mind when Jae-In made his move.” she had been asking that question to herself for the past one hour but could not point her finger at the answer, she could not understand why she felt bad for Dong-Hoon at the moment Jae-In was getting closed to her and feeling frustrated she exhaled deeply.

“Ughhhhh, whatever.” she groaned, stuffing her face into the pillow. There was no use to find out why she felt like this because she had promised herself that she was never going to be in a relationship and end up like her mother.

Dong-Hoon and Ji-Hoon came back as Ji-Hoon left for his room to freshen up while Dong-Hoon thinking that Se-Young might be making dinner, went towards the kitchen.

He was about to spit his fiery battle of words but saw Jung-Nan instead of Se-Young. “Oh Dong-Hoon, you came back. Go fresh up, Dinner in five minutes.” she said wiping her hands with the apron. “And yeah, call Se-Young as well.” she winked at him giving chances for them to be together even for a mere minute.

Sighing, he left from there. ‘Now what happened to this brat?’ she asked herself.

Contemplating whether to go or not to go to Se-Young's room Dong-Hoon decided to get fresh first.

After getting a shower he was drying his hair in his thought when he heard a knock on the door. Frowning his eyebrows, he went towards the door and opened it.

Se-Young was standing outside his door and she was wearing a loose white tee which was up to her mid-thighs and her denim shorts were barely visible from the length of it, clearly presenting her milky white skin, the neckline of her tee was bigger than usual letting her beautiful collar bone on a show, her hair was slightly wet indicating they have not been completely dried yet from the shower.

“Mr. Shim, Mr. Shim.” she kept calling him but he was just admiring her visuals, forgetting that he was angry a moment ago.

She waved her hand in front of his face. “Aunt is calling you for dinner.” she said as he got back into reality.

Getting his senses back from heaven he looked at her with an irked face. “Where did you go?” he asked ignoring her words with that cold face.

“Huh, what?” she asked not getting why was he asking that question.

“Whom did you go with?” and instead of asking the same question again, Dong-Hoon changed his question.

Se-Young was just ascending up as nothing was going into her mind and on the other hand, his wet t-shirt was sticking to his abdomen, exposing his eight-packs, distracting her as she was trying to just focus on his face.

“Why did you go?” he again changed his question not getting the answer of any. “Miss Lee, I am asking all these questions to you.” he reminded her that she had to answer his question and not just look at him weirdly.

“I... I... why are you asking this to me?” she stuttered looking away from his darkening gaze.

“Why am I asking? Yeah right. Who am I? Your boss or a random person you are just living with under the same roof. Of course, Jae-In is your friend and I am nothing, you can hug him and he can ruffle your hair, and going to the movie is completely fine like it is just so casual for two friends of the opposite gender to watch the movie alone in a corner seat. And yes, most importantly friends can kiss each other, right...?”

He was talking so fast, not giving her any chance to speak while she was really confused about what was going in his head at first, everything was good until this morning and now suddenly he was acting like a sullen child but when he mentioned Jae-In and about the movie and kiss her eyes widened. “SHUT UP.” so she loudly said to stop him from blabbering and he really did.

“Who told this to you?” she asked with an angry face remembering about the moment and the silence was for a mere second and Dong-Hoon again started his word battle yet again.

“It does not matter who told me, what matters now is that you went on a date with someone else even though I was giving you indirect signals these days. Did you even think about me even the slightest bit while going with that guy who looks like a sly fox or is it only me being a fool having these feelings for you? Gosh, I never knew that I am going to be in one-sided love. I feel so bad for myself now. I really tried to ignore the fact that you are a chef and wanted to get the two of us to get closer but now everything is in vain. You like that sly fox and I will be left alone. What did I even do to deserve this? Am I not a good guy, does he have something I don’t? I am handsome, can cook, am good with children, respect elders. What else would you need in a guy...”

He was fighting a battle with his words, spitting out whatever came into his mouth, while Se-Young was just shocked looking at him. When he said that he likes her, her heart fluttered, unlike that time when Jae-In confessed and there she was doing that again, she was comparing both of them, and every time she did, she happened to find Dong-Hoon more attractive, she placed her right hand on her chest feeling her increasing heartbeat and this heartbeat was different, different than usual and different than her asthma.

He was still not done with his words when she placed her left hand on his mouth shutting him up.

“Shhhh...” she shushed him. “I did not kiss him.” she did not know why she was explaining herself to him but her heart was telling her to do so for sure and Dong-Hoon widened his eyes at the information and blinked thrice. So, was his lecture for nothing but she still went on a date with Jae-In.
