SMUGGLING

“Fortunately, we have Mr. Seo and Mr. Choi with us today as well.” Yoo-Na’s attorney said and Yoo-Na turned behind finding a very mad Kang-Joon glaring at her. She smiled sarcastically and winked at him.

The bailiff asked Choi Sung-Guk to the witness box on the magistrate's order.

Choi Sung-Guk gave all the detailed information about how he was also tricked by Kang-Joon’s father and they have been doing the same. In the past, he faced great trouble and they were not even able to hire an attorney due to their vulnerable state.

Seo Kang-Joon was sweating, rubbing his palms together.

After Choi Sung-Guk, Bailiff asked Kang-Joon to the witness box. He did not want to, but he had no power against the magistrate's words. He stood up and walked towards the witness box. “You are involved in smuggling and defaming others. All shreds of evidence are against you, would you like to say something?” Yoo-Na’s attorney asked.

He just glared at her. “I would prefer my lawyer talking for me.” he said simply indicating that he was vulnerable at this point and he needed someone to defend himself.

After the chaotic day magistrate adjourned the court and set the date for the next trial.

~Flashback~

~The day of Hwang’s business event~

Ji-Hoon and Yoo-Na were sneaking out for the forced date that Yoo-Na had pleaded for.

Yoo-Na abruptly came to halt and Ji-Hoon frowned looking at her as she was glaring in a particular direction. He too moved his gaze from her into that direction.

There was a man maybe two to three years older than him, talking to some old man. “This type of bastard is also invited to respected places.” she commented rolling her eyes.

“Why?” was the only word left Ji-Hoon's mouth.

“Well, you see that guy. He is Seo Kang-Joon.” Ji-Hoon nodded as he became aware of who that person was with his name.

“He is the CEO of our ex-consumers and my... ex-boyfriend.” she cleared her throat looking at him nervously and pouted when Ji-Hoon did not have any particular expressions on his face that she wanted to see.

Kang-Joon’s cell phone ringed and he excused himself from the old man to attend the call.

Yoo-Na widened her eyes as he was coming in their direction. She pulled Ji-Hoon’s hand and hid behind the wall. “Why are we hiding?” Ji-Hoon whispered.

“I don’t want to face him. Let him go in then we will go out.” Ji-Hoon thought it was childish but did not say anything.

“I saw her today with Shim Ji-Hoon. She looks too happy. I will not let this happiness survive...” and then he was listening to what the other person was saying on the call.

Meanwhile, Yoo-Na was about to go and grab his hair and smash his head into the wall to crack it open, but Ji-Hoon held her upper arms tightly. “Are you insane, we should listen properly.” he made her quiet and they put their focus on him again.

“Don’t worry father, none of them will ever know. Our people have done their work very skillfully. In just a few days Shim Ji-Hoon will break their contract and we will get the Parks back in our fist. Huh, they thought they can escape me easily... Ok, I will talk to you later.” Kang-Joon ended the call and walked back inside the hall.

“This bastard. I will kill him.” Yoo-Na was again about to lose control of her sanity but Ji-Hoon held her back again.

“We should not cause a scene here. We will investigate it thoroughly and it is better to not give hints to your enemy in advance. For now, let’s go.” the situation was reversed as Ji-Hoon was dragging her out towards the escalator.

“So, he tried to secretly meddle into the supplied material and you guys had to pay the compensation.” Ji-Hoon was interrogating Yoo-Na and she was looking at him with a pissed-off face.

She hissed. “Why are you using the word tried. He made us face such a big loss. Fortunately, we were able to find what was actually happening because of some plot holes in his plan, or else I don’t even want to imagine.” she rolled her eyes leaning more into the seat of the car.

“But I remember Yoo-Jin saying you just came back from Indonesia at Tae-Hoon's wedding.” Ji-Hoon said remembering the day of Tae-Hoon’s marriage.

“Oh, you remember that. I left Korea to clear my mind. Thank goodness I was not deeply attached to him or else....” she looked at Ji-Hoon who was just nodding his head.

She cleared her throat and changed the topic. “Why can’t you drive?” ...

~When Yoo-Na called Ji-Hoon for a movie date~

(Continuing from chapter number 83...)

“I will pick you up in my car by five. I don’t want a third person between us.” she said and he agreed.

“Okay, Listen. I have found some disturbance with the supplies and I am sure your ex is involved with them.” Ji-Hoon said.

“Hey, don’t call him my ex. He is a bastard.” she rolled her eyes at the other side of the call and Ji-Hoon smiled hearing that. “Umm.... I will give you all the details after the movie date. I have arranged a team to research on this matter secretly.”

“I can’t thank you enough.” Yoo-Na was grateful for his help.

~The day of the movie date~

(Continuing from chapter number 86)

Ji-Hoon felt like crying. The girl in front of him had a great many fantasies, he cleared his throat. “About that thing...” he stopped talking in the mid-sentence and picked up his cell phone placed on the table.

He put in the password and slide it across the table towards Yoo-Na.

Frowning her eyebrows, she picked the cell phone and started to swipe across different pictures and word files. “All the information regarding his smuggling is in there.” Yoo-Na widened her eyes and the cell phone was about to slip from her hand but she grabbed it getting her composer.
