Some Don't Heal

Thursday evening came faster than they hoped and Karri was dreading the thought of going back to her place. Sure she loved being in her room more than anything, but she was starting to love Zeke's company more. And that worried her. 


After their afternoon talk slash tease, they ordered pizza and watched a movie in bed, fighting over who has the shorter side of the blankets and who chews louder and who can have the last slice in each box. Of course, Zeke fell asleep before her because he had had a long day with school and then his dad. 


Karri cleaned up after the movie ended, threw the junk away and was about to grab her bag when he groaned and turned in his sleep. She watched as his hands felt the bed for her body before freezing when he realised she wasn't there and his eyes snapped open, looking around for her. She couldn't help but smile.
