Kira's POV

The last bell will go off in 3 minutes. As much as I love it, I can't stay in here forever. I gather my things stand to unlock the door. When I step out, Cara's standing by the sink facing the mirror. I could just walk away, but as soon as I turn to leave, she gives me a snarl look.

"Kian was looking for you," she says casually as she wets the loose strand from her ponytail. I turn to face her as I push my phone in my pocket.

"Yeah?" I lock eyes with her in the mirror. "Why?"

"I honestly don't know either," she shrugs before turning to me. "But he got tired," she says, looking me up and down before adding, "like he always does." She smirks before taking her bag and walking past me.

"Is that why he dumped you?" I find myself asking. She stops in her tracks and turns to me, eyes as cold as she can master.

"He did not dump me," she spits as her voice cracks.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry, my bad." I walk towards the door where she's standing. "He got tired, like he always does," I imitate her before mock-saluting her and closing the door behind me. That felt good. I really thought Cara was someone nice.

I go to the office and notice the secretary is making coffee at the other side of the office so I drop the pass there on her desk quickly before she sees me. I walk down to the Ancient History class and see Ryan heading into it.

"Asshole," I mutter under my breath. I decide to stall because he was walking slowly to get into the class and I didn't want him to notice me. I entered through the large brown doors and saw a few heads turn to me. I realised that I allowed light to enter into the room. I also realised it wasn't like the other classes I had; this one was in the form of an amphitheatre.

I looked around for an empty chair with the help of the light coming from the large screen in the far front of the classroom. Why is a history class this full anyway? Isn't history one of those classes where nobody wants to be in?

"Psst," a voice whispers. I turn my head to look for where the sound is coming from.

"Psssst!" it calls again and I turn to my left and squint my eyes. I see a hand waving in my direction and I walk towards it. I mutter a few "sorry"s and "excuse me"s until I reach the person. I bent down a little more and see its face. It's a she.

"Do you always have an empty seat beside you?" I ask teasingly as I take the seat assigned to me by her.

"I like my space, brown head," she answers me as she playfully shoves my shoulder. The previous Laura that I encountered before IT was nowhere to be seen. Sat next to me was the same easy-going Laura I sat next to in home room. And I am so glad I have her back.

"I'm really sorry for what I said earlier," I whispered to her and she turned her attention from the lesson to me, her smile visibly broadening.

"That alone won't do," she shakes her head slowly.

"What else do I have to do?" I ask her as I take notes from the screen.

"I never thought you'd ask," she chuckles lightly. "I want you to come to the mall with me." Oh no, I do not like the mall. You always go with one main objective and one shop in mind. By the time you leave, you have bags from a dozen shops. And who suffers the greatest? The credit cards. Then again, I guess I could use some window shopping and target some items.

"Okay, cool," I smile at her and she blushes. "What are you going to do at the mall anyway?"

"Meeting a few friends," she avoids looking in my eyes. Something tells me this "friends" comes with a boy.

I'm finally in the last class I have for the day. I'm quite relieved actually. Laura agreed to give me a ride home after her adventures, as she liked to call it. The class was so quiet with the teacher just marking some papers and most learner already packed up because there is just a minute left before-

"C'mon, let's get outta here," Laura drags me behind her as soon as the bell rings. I force myself to get into the same rhythm as her; right foot first, left foot second.

"Hey, chill desperado," I remove her nails from making marks in my skin.

"I'm sorry," she says as she unlocks her car and we get in. "It's just it's been so long since I've seen him," her voice does not miss one bit of enthusiasm as she pulls out of the parking lot.

"Why? Is he your boyfriend?"

"Yepp," she bites her lip. "Two years and going strong," she giggles and I laugh at her childish ways.

"Where does he stay?"

"He lived in Manhattan before moving to Lebanon. He travelled around Europe for a while and now he's back."

"So basically, I'm gonna be third-wheeling?" She snaps her head at me and stares at me unbelievably.

"I'd never do that to you," she shakes her head. "His sister is coming with him."

"Ahah!" I laugh sarcastically, "I'm babysitting. How nice-"

"She isn't a baby," she feigns offence. "If anything, she's older than him."

"The babysitter is getting babysat," I murmur and she hits my arm.

"Get out," she pulls the car to a stop and I raise my eyebrow.

"What?" She is so not planning of abandoning me in the open, is she?

"Oh you poor soul," she chuckles, "we're at the mall. Get out," she says as she unbuckles and steps out. I inwardly sigh. I still have a ride home. I'm not being abandoned in the open. I take my bag and close the door. She looks at me and sighs dramatically before snatching my bag and tossing it in the car.

"Someone's impatient," I tease her as I pull my phone from my front pocket. Three missed calls from an unknown number. Before I can return the calls, Laura drags me by my forearm into the mall's main entrance. A few guys catcall us but she just shakes her head at them.

"He says he's on the fourth floor," she lets go of my arm as we stand and wait for the elevator. It comes after a few seconds and open, letting some people out. We get in and a few guys run towards it, waving for us to keep it open for them. I put my hand and the doors slide back, allowing them to step in.

"Thanks," a dirty blonde guy breathlessly says as he and his friend get in.

"You could have waited for the next one," Laura says, not even glancing at them because she's typing on her phone.

"Yeah, we could," red-haired says, "but we wanted to get in with you two." It's moments like this I wish I had my pepper spray with me.

"Hey," the dirty blond guy touches my shoulder and I turn to him, raising an eyebrow. "Are you by any chance Kira? I heard Kian's lo-"

"Let's go," Laura takes my hand and pulls me outside into the opposite direction from the guys. I could have sworn I saw those two around at school. Maybe.

We approach a coffee table and Laura wraps her arms around a guy that has his back towards us. Imagine how awkward it would be if it wasn't her boyfriend. The guy turns around and wraps his arms around her waist as he stands up.

"O to the M to the G!" the girl he sat with screams and I turn to face her, but before I have the chance to, she attacks me with a bear hug, causing us to fall back over.

"Ouch," I rub my elbow and get my hair out of my face. She stands up and pulls me to my feet as she chuckles. I look at her and an automatic smile spreads across my lips.

"You left me hanging," she slaps my shoulder as she whines.

"I did?"

"Yes," she tugs a lose strand behind her ear, "on Sunday when you said you had an argument with some guy."

"I'm sorry," I giggle.

"Move aside," the guy Laura hugged shoves Lyha aside and I look up at him and meet a pair of blue eyes. Those are the bluest of all blue eyes.

"If it isn't Dylan," I pull him into a hug and he hugs me back.

"How do you guys know each other?" Laura asks directing the question to all 3 of us.

"We umm-" Laura starts awkwardly.

"Met on a-" Dylan continues awkwardly.

"Plane!" I finish, snapping my fingers.

"Plane huh?" Laura asks me. "And why didn't you tell me you knew my boyfriend?"

"Because I didn't know he was your boyfriend," I tilt my head at her and she rolls her eyes, trying to bite her smile down.

"Don't tell me you're jealous," Dylan cups her chin in his hand as he kisses her forehead.

"Well, Kira and I have a lot to catch up with," Lyha pokes my side. "We'll leave you two alone." She gushes as she pulls me with her into Macy's.

"I'm so glad I saw you again," she says as she looks at some dresses and I trail behind her.

"Me too," I frown. "A lot has happened and I am trying to keep up." She turns to me and folds her arms across her chest.

"You wanna talk about it?"

"Yes please," I look down as the emotions I've been covering up overwhelm me.
