The Green Ambassadors:The Chibok Girls Are Back!

CHAPTER THREE

A New Home

Night had fallen over the community by the time The Green Ambassadors had found their way into the village. The roosters were finding their way into their homes, while the villagers were just preparing their dinner.

Spending a longtime outside in an effort to unwind sometimes follows the dinner, which usually is heavy.

This made the task of The Green Ambassadors somewhat difficult. But They were not bothered with these facts. They had successfully learned the art of stealth and espionage.

There were old mud houses here and there, with several storage facilities making the largest of structures.

There were also trees in front of almost every house. These structures provided the necessary cover needed by this band of crime fighting heroes.

"Keep to the dark," urged Taribo. "The first task on hand is to find the home of the old hypnotizer, he knows enough to keep us on the right track", said El-Kanemi.

"You are right, and it looks like you will have to undertake the job of finding the old hypnotizer's home.

Kelechi will give you all the cover you need. And for you girls, it looks like the two of you and I will wait here. Any question?" Silence followed, indicating there was no question.

"OK guys, let's do it".

El-Kanemi, the-rubber-boy slithered away quietly. Kelechi counted thirty before moving after him from a distance of fifty meters.

The search for the hypnotizer's home was on for about thirty minutes. He had covered the village and was about going past a small building when he stopped.

All his training in tracking down suspects was fully handy now. And as if on cue, the door to the hut creaked open and a ray of lantern light shone out.

El-Kanemi, the-rubber-boy could just make out a figure of an old man. But it was clear enough; it was the old hypnotizer.

El-Kanemi walked forward, taking every step with a convincing stride. He wouldn't want the old man to be suspicious of him. He walked, like a visitor, on course who had finally located his destination.

The old man screwed up his eyes and peered hard trying to place the identity of the visitor.

"Ina a unni baba" El-Kanemi greeted the old man in the local Hausa dialect.

The old man relaxed as soon as he noticed the owner of the voice.

"A young boy, eh Well I don't see as good as I do when I was much younger," the old man said in the same dialect.

"You want to see me eh? It's better You come in".

"There are six of us, we are orphans and have been informed you help young orphans, replied El-Kanemi, the-rubber-boy.

"Where are the others?" the old hypnotizer asked. Kelechi had got in touch with others while El-Kanemi was engaged in discussion with the old man in front of his house.

In the world of crime fighting, speed is a very vital tool. And in less than six minutes, the group of the six The Green Ambassadors was seated with the old man attending to their needs.

"Well", said the old man. "You just sit down comfortably while I prepare some food for you; you boys sure looked very hungry and tired". As the old man started making some dinner, The Green Ambassadors began to plan their next line of action.

Soon, the meal was ready and the old man and The Green Ambassadors settled down for the dinner. They all ate their supper in silence for a while.

"So, which of the Orphanage home will you like to go? As you know, I m a care practitioner. I act, in my capacity as a volunteer, in helping orphanage agencies and centers to rehabilitate young orphans and motherless", said the old man between mouthfuls.

"We do not have idea of any orphanage home," said Taribo. "We do not know anybody," added Amina the northern Amazon.

The hypnotizer looked at The Green Ambassadors for a while, thanking his star for bringing such strong and healthy boys and girls his way. They would make a lot of profit for me, he thought to himself.

After the meal, on the pretense of helping with the plates and other house chores, The Green Ambassadors were able to spy out the layout of the old hypnotizer's home.

Fortunately for them, there were enough storage structures and trees to provide them plenty of choice for cover. If Khalid and his gang of terrorists came unannounced to give them a surprise, he would be in for a surprise himself, Taribo thought to himself.

"Remember, speed and accuracy are the best form of defense", Taribo told the others as they went about their work. As they round off the work and returned into the house, fresh fruits of different kind were ready and waiting for them.

Wuraola, the-wild-west-thunder-bolt, who seems to be uncontrollable in her appetite, is beginning to like it in the village.

Wao! "This is the freshest juice I'm having in years," she sputtered.

And taking a cue from her, the rest of The Green Ambassadors began to pass complementary comments over the old hypnotizer's hospitality. This made his face glowed with satisfaction.

But his satisfaction came from the fact that the groups of young people are already building their trust in him. He concluded that by tomorrow, they would have further swelled his purse from Shekau's generosity.

The highly trained minds of The Green Ambassadors were fully active with plans on how information could be retrieved from the old man. With every activity of the day done and over, it was time to relax before bedtime, as it is been observed in a traditional village lifestyle.

It was Amina the northern Amazon who started the conversation.

"With this kind gesture coming from you, I wonder whether we would desire to move to any orphanage home." She asked as her eyes went over the room in a manner, which depicts regret.

"You don't have to bother about that at all, because by tomorrow, you will be moving to your new home. A home where you will be taken care of very well", replied the hypnotizer.

"A new home?" asked Wuraola, the-wild-west-thunder-bolt painfully.

"Yes, a new home far away from the region of Africa. There you will eat the white man's food and drink the white man's water", the unsuspecting man said.

"Baba, the way you speak, it sounds like a great nice place and I wonder if you will be coming with us", added Taribo.

"Oh! No, you will not need an old man traveling with you over a long distance by sea. You will have other girls with you, he replied.

Traveling a long distance by sea? With other girls where exactly is this place? Asked Kelechi, trying hard to conceal his contempt for the old evil hypnotizer.

Then Taribo asked the unprepared old man a sudden question, and watched him closely for any sign that will give him away, it worked.

"I heard a lot of girls were been kidnapped by the Book Haram and forced to join the terror group. Somewhere transported to other neighbouring countries for other ill-fitted profit making activities?"

The night was dark and silent. Apart from the distant noise of crickets and night insects, the room was quiet.

Taribo could make out in full details, the face of the old man. The question seemed to have upset the man and threw him off balance.

"That is not true", squalled the old man in a husky voice after a long pause.

"I don't want to travel from my home country, I also hate to be a child slave in the camps of the terrorists," added Wuraola, as she took another fruit to her mouth.

"I think it's time for us to go to bed, remember you have a long journey to make tomorrow," the old man said. And with that, he stood up and began to make his bed.

Long into the night, with The Green Ambassadors snoring noisily on the pretense of fallen deep asleep, the old hypnotizer stood up quietly from his bed.

He sat on the edge of the bed and watched his young victims for a while, making sure they were deeply asleep. Then an evil smile of satisfaction creased his ugly face.

Slowly and silently, he sneaked outside to wait for his two assistants whom he had earlier sent for.

The old man brought out his phone and pressing a key, the keypad light came on showing him it was few minutes to two o'clock. The old hypnotizer stepped outside into the cover of the dark night.

It was a dark, cloudy night, a perfect night for such job as the one he was about to carry out.

Slowly but surely, an evil plan crept into his evil mind. As he thought over the plan, that evil smile once again spread even wider over his ugly face.

Quickly, the hypnotizer spread out his arms into the sky and began to mutter enchantment, and as he did so, the sky quickly thickened with cloud which spread rapidly over the sky. Soon, a heavy torrential rain began to pour over the quiet sleepy village.

As it is usual among village people, night rainfall, is a welcome development, it casts a deeper and more comfortable sleep over them like a spell.

No one will want his sleep to be disturbed at such times, not even when his house is on fire.

The hypnotizer's two assistants slithered quietly to join the hypnotizer followed by three heavily built men.

They exchanged few words and then moved into the house. But The Green Ambassadors were all sitting up, ready and waiting for the terrorists. One member of The Green Ambassadors was missing though, Wuraola, she had a special assignment to carry out.

As the terrorists led by the old hypnotizer entered the room, they were met with a big surprise.

"Whom are we putting up with? A child lover or a terrorist?" Kelechi asked in a soft nasty voice.

"Well, my dear youngsters, our original plans have been temporarily suspended. Which means, you have to be moved away to a safer place, right now", replied the old man.

"Temporarily suspended? I see, how much we worth are at Abubakar Shekau's camp?" asked Amina the northern Amazon.

"What do you mean? What are you trying to say?" Asked the old hypnotizer, trying as hard as he could to hide his surprise.

"Look, could you please stop playing games with us and tell us all we need to know; after all we have no choice.

You know we have no power to stop you, do whatever you want to do with us. But we have the right to know our fate", Kelechi said.

After a long silence, the hypnotizer gave them one of his meanest smiles and then sat down to face them. That smile makes them even more nervous than ever.

"We are the upholders of the true laws of Islam, infidels the world over must face the full wrath of Allah's judgment. If you like call us Boko Haram; we hate Western lifestyle and education!"

Taribo lifted his hand harmlessly and circled it over his head twice.

To the terrorists it meant nothing but a mere gesticulation. But to the rest of The Green Ambassadors, it was a signal to start the micro recorder on.

"Do you realize that child trafficking is a criminal offense that carries a serious punishment?" Taribo said, his eyes never leaving the three heavily built men.

"There was a bout of laughter from the terrorists, who seemed to be enjoying the fun in the same way a cat would enjoy playing with its prey before devouring it.

"No one does this and gets away with it. The law will catch up with him", said El-Kanemi, speaking for the first time.

"We are the executioners of Allah's laws!" the three men sputtered almost immediately through clenched teeth.

By this time, the rain outside had stopped, bringing a sudden calmness outside.

The super sensitive ears of The Green Ambassadors picked out the light movement of feet outside, Taribo, who had super human ears, had even picked the quick heartbeats of the men outside. It was almost time for action.

The Green Ambassadors remained in their normal human states when there are no reasons to transform into the super human heroes.

But now, the mental alarm in their system is already bleeping, sending warning signals of danger to their system. In such moments, there are reasons for transformation of The Green Ambassadors into the super heroes.

"I want to assure you, you won't get away with this", Taribo was saying.

A look of surprise came into the faces of the terrorists. There was a moment of silence and then the old hypnotizer spoke carelessly.

"We have been preparing for this day for years, and by the help of Allah, we will never fail.

I wonder if you little infidels realized you are nothing more important than a piece of flesh for the sharks in the sea if you want to prove stubborn.

"And I want you to know that God does not help wicked people as you have claimed!" Taribo replied sternly.

"You dared to call us wicked people?" Threatened one of the terrorists as he moved forward.

There was a dead silence again, and then the old hypnotizer nodded his head to his men and then signaled them to commence the operation.

Even as the gang of terrorists prepared to move into action, the mental electronic countdown of The Green Ambassadors had reached the maximum.

The transformation time of The Green Ambassadors depends on the frequency of the events confronting them. The quicker the need for their intervention, the quicker their transformations.

As the transformation of The Green Ambassadors was fully activated the door of the room flew open, and in came the policemen armed to the teeth.

"Freeze! This is the police", screamed the operation commander. But the three armed policemen were no match for the highly trained terrorists.

Like a flash, the policemen where disarmed. While two of the terrorists looked after the disabled policemen, the other three faced The Green Ambassadors.

But it was no longer the young defenseless kids. It was the super The Green Ambassadors they faced.

The old hypnotizer had muttered few invocations and subsequently vanished. The three heavily built men closed on The Green Ambassadors with Kelechi in the front.

"Now you little brats I'm going to teach you a lesson you will live with all the rest of your lives, while you rot away in some slave home", the biggest of the terrorists said.

"I beg your pardon sir; didn't your mother teach you to observed good manners and to avoid foul language?" Kelechi said taunting the heavily built man.

"Kelechi", hissed El-Kanemi behind him.

"Don't provoke him".

"Don't worry friend, I'm just going to grease his cheeks, that's all", replied Kelechi-the- sledge-hammer, going by his nickname.

Even as the heavily built man came at Kelechi like a rampaging bull, his hand heading toward his throat, he stopped dead in his track.

For, Kelechi stood, head and shoulder above the man like a mighty tower.

The heavily built man whipped out his dagger with the speed of lightening and shoved it hard into Kelechi's belly. There was a moment of silence. The dagger splintered into two parts like a piece of dried wood.

The terrorist stepped back with the look of amazement on his face. Kelechi never looked an inch hurt. He smiled at the heavily built man.

"Want to try something else?" Kelechi growled at the man.

The heavily built man took one quick look at the half part of the weapon on the floor and the half part in his own hand before flinging it away.

Even as the weapon hit the ground, the other two terrorists came rushing after

Kelechi.

Kelechi, whose head was very close to the roof of the room, jumped up and reached out his hands, grabbing one of the roof's beams. He swung himself up as the two men came rushing at him. They went passed him and crashed into the walls.

Kelechi pulled hard on the beam as he did so, the roof of the house caved in with a loud noise.

On the other hand, Wuraola who was outside, standing under the cover of darkness was battle-ready when the old hypnotizer reappeared just in her front. She gave him one of her usual deadly chopping blow at the back of the head. He slumped down and passed out.

The fight in the little room came to a prompt end when the roof collapsed.

It knocked everyone who was standing down except The Green Ambassadors. Amina, El-Kanemi-the-rubber-boy and Taribo went down an instant before the roof came down.

Kelechi hardly noticed it as pieces of wood and clay came down over him as he stood.

The other terrorists were all clubbed to submission by the falling bricks. The Green Ambassadors helped the policemen who escaped without injury out of the rubles.

And before twilight, the six terrorists, the policemen and The Green Ambassadors had left the village.

The Green Ambassadors helped the policemen in making sure the terrorists were safely locked away behind bars in the police station.

The Green Ambassadors were trained to move fast, silently and to work under cover. And by the time it was daylight, no trace of The Green Ambassadors was left in the village.
