Chapter 8- You owe me

The battle had begun.

Simon took care of two assassins with his surprise attack. Cale also took care of the guy near him. The original 10 were reduced to 7.

Cale was weak but experienced. Simon was average in strength but inexperienced. However, Zero made up for his combat power.

Simon knew that this was not the original plot. He was cursing at the situation.

Cale's mind was even a bigger mess. If not for Choi Han arriving, He would not risk his plan by gaining the Ancient Power in front of Simon.

But since, Choi Han had already arrived. He needed to risk it.

Cale was frowning as he also took the dagger from the assassin. The assassins did not waste their time anymore.

They attacked Cale and Simon at once. Simon had shouted 'protect the children. It was not just for reminding Cale but an order to Zero.

Zero tackled the assassin in his way as he made his way to the children. But, that was not effective. Zero was a puppet that needed control.

Simon would not be able to focus in the middle of a fight. That is why he controlled Zero to delay time. Simon took the dagger from the other assassin.

Two guys got delayed by Zero. The other one was running towards Simon.

The assassin was around 3 meters away from Simon. He was ready to thrust the dagger. But,

Simon threw one dagger at him. But, his luck was good. The dagger rotated and the handle hit his nose. He was about to scream but stopped himself.

He was a trained assassin and knew to be silent. But, as soon as he used his hands to block his mouth.

Simon ran at him at stabbed the assassin. The assassin fell. Zero was already on the ground. One assassin came at Simon.

He was fast. Simon needed a way to win. He stared at the coming assassin as he got two daggers ready. He threw the daggers at the assassin.

Of course, the assassin dodged. But, Simon threw a rock this time. The stone hit him on a pretty sensitive spot. That made him unable to move.

Simon did not stop. He picked up many small-sized stones and aimed at the head. Although, many missed. Some stones hit the head.

The assassin clenched his head in pain. Simon ran at him and threw some small pebbles. He then kicked the feet of the assassin.

The assassin again fell and hit his head on one of the stones that Simon threw. He died.

The third assassin was near Simon. Simon ran like hell. He ran over to the guy near On and Hong. He was heading towards Cale.

Simon went towards him and tackled him. Both fell. Simon snatched the dagger from the assassin without caring about some cuts on his hands.

He threw the dagger at the assassin that was about to kick him.

The assassin knew the kid in front was cunning. So, he decided to kick the kid of his friend and kill him. He did not want to give him a chance.

But, he did not expect the kid to snatch the dagger without caring about the pain in the hands.

This assassin did not have good luck. The dagger stabbed right at his neck. He died.

The guy under Simon pushed Simon off. Now Simon was lying on the ground. The assassin got up and sat on Simon ready to punch him.

Simon still hadn't snapped out of the pain. Some thoughts were running in his mind.

'Sh*t This is reality. Not a novel. My plan will not work perfectly. Damn it. Why does my back hurt so much? Argh..'

Simon had a small plan. But, that did not work perfectly. The dagger did not stab the first guy. This forced him to waste time kicking him.

He had originally planned to run towards Cale and regroup. But, that did not work at all.

Now, he was pinned down and was about to be punched. His one hand hurt too bad from the cuts.

The other hand was also pinned by the assassin. It was the worst situation.

As Simon was about to be punched A silver cat jumped on the assassin's face.

It scratched his face. Another red cat also jumped and scratched his face. The assassin fell without resistance.

On and Hong were the cats. Hong used poison on him.

Simon pushed the guy off him. He then switched his focus on Zero.

Zero stood up and started running towards the rest of the assassin. He jumped on one of them and headbutted him.

The man bled and fell hitting the ground hard. Cale had taken down the rest using underhanded tricks.

The battle was over.

Simon told the cats to go away as he thanked them.

Hong was hesitant but got dragged away by On. He thanked them once more.

After they left, Simon sighed.

A voice came from behind him saying thanks. Simon turned around and saw Cale.

Cale looked exhausted. Simon replied to him.

"You owe me once."

Cale was silent.

'He must be cursing inside.'

Simon thought.

Both of them were exhausted. Simon controlled zero. Zero stood up and dragged all of them to one place.

It took all of their weapons. Actually, this team had mages. But, the first two that Simon attacked were those very mages.

'That explains why their reaction was slow and had weak bodies.'

As for why they had daggers in their hands instead of a staff. They were probably sadists.

After a few moments, Simon walked towards the assassins. He used their own clothes and tied them.

Then, He took off their masks. Cale also got up. It was quite awkward.

Simon was nervous about how this might affect the story.

He noticed a few corpses. He then asked Cale.

" I am curious but I will not ask you about much. I just want to ask you something. Were these people innocent?"

Cale replied with a 'No'

Simon also said 'Thank god'.
