Chapter 24- Just Two truths

Well, I don't have much to say but check the link I gave in the last chapter's comments. And see the comments there. And, Has anybody talked about 'That' novel?

Also, today's a good day for me so I will pump out as many chapters as I can.

Simon was drinking some of the wine that he hadn't finished before. The wine tasted quite good to be honest. He put the cup down as the doors to the room opened.

Simon had left a lot earlier than Cale. When Lock had shown signs of stopping, he immediately left the room. He wasn't interested in seeing the touching scene.

Cale entered the room with Choi Han. Choi Han seemed calmer than before but still had those complicated emotions.

Simon was sitting on a sofa and drinking. Cale and Choi Han sat at the table with food(that was already cold) between them.

Choi Han looked at Simon for a moment before looking at Cale. Cale also looked at Choi Han and told him to report.

"Cale-nim. Everything was fine until I met Rosalyn. I arrived at the city Cale-nim mentioned. Once I got there, I found the merchant guild heading for the capital as you described. Well, it was just a small brigade of five people rather than a guild."

Like this Choi Han explained what had happened. It looks like after they started to travel, Choi Han became more interactive with Rosalyn because it was a job Cale had given. And he would complete it in the best way possible.

After realizing that the wounded guard was a wolf beast person, Choi Han decided to help him. He followed them to find Lock.

However, He saw a sight familiar after arriving at the village of the Blue wolf tribe. It was those secret organization bastards.

They had massacred the entire village. Killing the adults and trying to kidnap the children.

Among them, A certain bastard who seemed to be the leader said

'What a shame? These would've been the perfect seeds. The blood of the children would be even better.'

Simon's head worked fast. Till now, Many of the conversations were slightly different from TCF. Simon was fine because most of them were basically the same.

But, now he was being more cautious. Was Redika, that bastard just saying the same thing or did he mean anything else?

'In TCF, He said tastier. Now it is better. Is the implication the same or different? Damn it.'

Simon might be overthinking but he needed to be more cautious. Simon thought about it for a while and calculated the possibilities.

'Redika should be implying the same thing. Although, I had yet to read this part's meaning. It won't be too important. The villains have been cleared and The gods will take care of other gods.'

As Simon was thinking, Choi Han also explained everything to Cale. Cale also seemed to be thinking too.

After a while, Cale spoke up.

"You must be curious. Follow me. I will tell you two things."

Choi Han nodded and Simon also got up. Choi Han saw him and asked.

"...Is he also coming?"

Simon immediately replied.

"No. I am just done with drinking and returning to my room. Anyway, Bye."

Simon left and Cale again told Choi Han to follow him.

Choi Han immediately followed Cale while asking 'Where are we going?'

Cale replied swiftly.

"The temple of God of Death."

...

Simon entered his room. He was now going to sleep. Today, Simon had learned many things about close combat. After seeing Choi Han fight, Simon could say that he knew more about fighting.

Thus, He was in no mood of doing other stuff. It might seem reckless to relax this much but Simon didn't care.

He knew that things are slowly changing but He was also changing. He was getting better at using his powers. He would probably need more time to research and experiment.

Leaving that, Simon was going to do whatever he wanted. It was nobody's business.

...

Cale and Choi Han walked towards the temple of God of Death.

Why were they going to such a place at this time?

To make a vow. Cale knew that He could tell some bullsh*t and Choi Han wouldn't question him. But, Later Choi Han will ask him.

Cale thought about it and concluded. Should he reveal everything? No, he wasn't going to do that. In fact, he would be telling the truth.

But, Only 2 truths.

A vow of death was usually used by nobles, merchants, and scammers. They all have different purposes for using a vow of death.

A vow of death will kill the one that vowed if he/she broke the vow. So, It is the best thing used for establishing trust. Also used for scamming the oblivious.

'But, My goal is pretty simple.'

'Just two truths.'

Cale and Choi Han arrived at the temple and did some necessary stuff. Which might have consisted in vowing that

[For the person who is putting their life on the line. The hand of the God of Death will touch the one who came with you. Once that happens, you can say your vow. Should you break your vow, death awaits you.]

All the other things were fine.

After a while, Both of them were in a room with a priest who couldn't hear their conversation. Cale spoke first.

"I will tell you two truths."

Choi Han nodded as Cale continued.

"The priest in front of me guarantees that he cannot hear, and, if that is not the truth, he will pay the price with his life."

"And, I, Cale Henituse, vow to speak the truth to Choi Han in front of the God of Eternal Rest, and, if what I say is even slightly a lie, I will immediately die in this spot to pay the price."

Choi Han's eyes shook slightly as he remained silent. He gulped as Cale said.

"First"

The first truth.

"I Cale Henituse have no direct relationship with the organization named 'Arm'. I say no direct because I have been attacked by them once. Furthermore, I have and never had any intentions to work with them."

Choi Han's eyes seem to be contemplating. That kind of wasn't enough. He wanted more information. He knew he was being selfish but He needed more information.

"Second. I despise those bastards and want them to disappear."

It was correct. Cale had no intentions of fighting 'Arm'. But he wished they would disappear. The wars would not happen and he would get his slacker life.

Although Cale wanted to smack them back, He thought sending the protagonist after them is the best way to get back at those bastards.

Choi Han spoke after a few minutes.

"Why do you despise them?"

"It is because As I mentioned, I have been attacked by them. I also met Simon during that time. He is trustable and helped me when I was attacked. The cats too."

Choi Han nodded. He was a smart guy but the recent happenings and witnessing the massacre of innocents had stressed him out.

He couldn't think smartly with all that stress. He again asked Cale.

"Cale-nim What do you wish to do?"

Cale immediately replied.

"My dream is to be a slacker. I want to live peacefully as a slacker. My younger brother can succeed the territory. Also, I wish 'Arm' to be gone from this world."

Choi Han seemed satisfied with the answer. He knew Cale was weak So he wouldn't force someone like Cale to fight against a deadly organization like 'Arm'.

Why? Because He knew Cale was a really kind-hearted person. He believed that Cale always did things for the better of the world.

O̵f̵ ̵c̵o̵u̵r̵s̵e̵,̵ ̵C̵a̵l̵e̵ ̵w̵a̵s̵n̵'̵t̵ ̵a̵n̵y̵t̵h̵i̵n̵g̵ ̵l̵i̵k̵e̵ ̵h̵o̵w̵ ̵C̵h̵o̵i̵ ̵H̵a̵n̵ ̵i̵m̵a̵g̵i̵n̵e̵d̵.

After that Choi Han requested Cale to inform him if Cale found any information on Arm. Cale was weak but Choi Han wasn't.

He would kill every one of those darned bastards.

Hello friends. I might have written some stuff that makes no sense up there. But In my defense, Writing about Choi Han is hard. He isn't a tsun-tsun like our Cale.

Anyways, Choi Han is a little sour about Simon. Why? Because Simon was drinking and thinking while he explained about the Blue Wolf tribe. He thinks Simon sus but Cale also noticed it. That's why Cale defended Simon saying he is trustable.

IDK if that makes sense, but honestly I don't care. Just needed a reason for Choi Han to dislike Simon. Since Simon's personality isn't the type to be loved by Choi Han.
