Today, I decided to wear my new beige tunic with a dark bluish trim, that matched my dark blue pants. Since dad informed that he will take me to a mission, once the meeting with the Targaryens.
"Nervous?" I heard brother Cedric ask from behind, "No!" I said voice cracking. "You sure? You have been fixing that satchel of yours for an awful lot." I unconsciously fix it one more time.
"See that's what I mean? Look I know that you are nervous, and it's normal I remember Rhea's first mission." brother Cedric started saying, "was she nervous too??" I asked.
"No she was ecstatic, but I was nervous the entire mission." brother Cedric said, "really why?" I ask confused, as I continued to stare at the stairs.
"Rhea will kill me if I tell. And besides you will work with her soon enough and you will see." he said, "But that's not what I wanted to talk about, it's okay to be nervous this is something new for you. And change can sometimes be scary, but if you face it you might just like it."
"So, feel any better?" brother Cedric said, which made me turn around to face brother Cedric, he was wearing an emerald green tunic with tree brown pants.
"Yeah I do, thanks." I said feeling much better, this will be my first time outside without mom. Since mom pretty much doesn't allow me to leave her side.
Brother Cedric and I are next to the front door, we are waiting for dad to come down from his office.
After, we waited for a while in silence I heard snickers come from brother, "You too! Pfff" before his snickering turned into a full blown laughter.
"That was a one time!!" I shouted feeling my cheeks burn, at what I did before. 'He really won't forget about that, will he?' I thought lamenting myself.
"Well, are you guys ready?" Dad said from on top of the staircase, followed closely by mom. "Yes, we are. Isn't that right Jade?" Brother Cedric asked, "Yeah, we are." I agreed.
As dad and mom were coming down from the staircase. Brother Cedric went to open the door, I followed closely behind him. As soon as the door opened I jumped out, running a head of brother, quickly getting into the carriage.
As soon as brother and dad got in, we were ready to set off. As we were leaving, I heard mom shout "Be careful, and don't leave your dad's side Jade!" As I saw her silhouette fading slowly, before completely disappearing from my sight.
The roads of the city were packed with people of all colours, the houses were huddled together and all were made of grey stone. There were a lot of bridges to connect the roads together, as we had a long way to go.
From time to time, I could see some man with slender swords on their waist, they must the water dancers lady Demetric told me about.
I could also perceive some women dressed in an all red dresses, everytime we passed one she will stare me directly in the eyes.
'Brother Cedric and dad must be bored since they always see this.' I thought, as neither dad nor brother are looking out the window.
The roads are getting smaller and smaller, 'Is this really where the future king is staying, the smell is horrible!! It smells like something died and stayed in front the sun for a long time.' I thought, while trying my best not to breath the air from my noise, as the smell is too much for my young nose.
We passed through another stone bridge, this one was pretty small compared to the other ones thus far. not long after, we reached a bigger than average house, the smell around this part was less atrocious than before but it was still present.
Although the house had a red door at the front, it was like all the other houses as it too was made with grey stone. Dad got down from the carriage, and knocked on the door.
We had to wait for a few minutes before a woman in her mid-twenties opened, she had black hair that reached to her waist, and almond brown eyes.
"We are here by an invitation from Sir Willem Dary. I am Jarred Connington, and these are my sons." Dad said in a matter of fact voice, I couldn't fathom to know how he could keep a normal face with such a smell in the air.
"Follow me." Said the woman with a courtois smile, before leading us inside. The house was pretty simple, it had a corridor that led to a T section with a door at the end.
As we were walking, we could hear two people talking behind the door, one of the voices sounded tired and old, while the other sounded flirtatious and swavy.
"Please wait here for one second." Said the woman, once we reached the door. Then she went inside the room giving us a glimpse of what's behind the door, before closing it again.
"Sir Willem, some guests by the name Connington have arrived." Stated the woman to the men that only a few seconds ago where laughing and talking joyfully.
"Let them in already you dumb woman!!" Said the old voice, the door then quickly opened and the woman stepped with some anger in her eyes, before taking the right side allowing us enough space to go inside.
"Hello, it's an honor to meet you Conningtons!" Said a huge old man, he had a white lush beard whilst his head was pretty bear as most of his hair has fallen, save for a thin layer of white hair at the sides.
He was laying in a queen sized bed, he was wearing a beige tunic. The room was pretty big, with a few colours spread around. There also was an armor set, with a three headed dragon on it in the middle of the armor.
"Ahhh. You must be the Conningtons I have heared so much about you. A pleasure to meet you." Said a young man, he had a luscious jet black hair and brown almond eyes, with a caramel brown skin.
"Prince Oberyn Martell! A pleasant surprise to meet you here!" Dad stated as shock was apparent in his eyes.
'Who? Wow this is the first time dad is caught of guard. I wonder who he is to make dad so surprised?' I wonder as I turn to look at brother Cedric, who looked at the man (Oberon?) really weirdly.
"Marry!! Bring us some wine!! Gentleman we have much to discuss!" said the old man in between bouts of laughter.
"There is no need. I would like to ask you if the offer you wrote on the letter is still standing." Dad inquired from the old man.
"Yes, it is still up! Does this mean y..." the old man nearly leapt from joy, but he was quickly cut off by dad "I would like to make some conditions of my own to the offer."
"And what might these conditions be?" Asked the old man slightly angered at dad, for interrupting him earlier, but he didn't say anything.
'Just as dad said. You can act however you want, as long as they need you they will do anything to please you!' I thought as what dad told me suddenly clicked.
"First: I want to create a magic knight system, and that magic is never persecuted again in Westeros.
Second: I want one of my children to become a vasir, It's the same rank as the hand of the king except that they deal with magic, and defence systems of the country.
And lastly: I want one of my sons to form a guild for jobs and to run it, 10% of the money made will be given to the kingdom's treasuries while the rest will be used to pay the workers in the guild." Dad gave his terms.
After a long moment of silence where the old man seemed to be thinking, he finally came to a decision "I agree to your conditions." he said.
"Then we have a deal. Whenever you send us a raven to war we will come." Dad stated, before turning to (Oberun?).
"It was nice to meet you, prince Oberyn." Dad continued, shaking hands with prince Oberyn, "Nice to meet you too, Magus Jarred." prince Oberyn said shaking hands with dad.
As we were leaving I saw two children outside the house around the cornor, they both had silver grey hair and pulsing purple eyes. One of them was tall and lanky with shorter hair, while the other was short and fluffy with long hair.
