CHAPTER 27

Zion quickly ran towards Jessica. A few minutes later, when Zion was in his car and about to start the engine, he received a call from Jessica. She informs him she can't meet Zion today because she has something important to do. She told Zion to meet her up tomorrow after class at her house.

Zion slammed the steering wheel of his car. He tried to call Jessica back, but he couldn't reach her.

He stepped out of his car and began searching for me.

At the same time, Arien talked to her classmates and delivered the finished parts of the project.

"Arien, you finished almost the project. Thank you." One of my classmates said.

"I didn't notice it. Anyway, I have to go. I still have work to do." My classmates nodded, and I rushed to my work.

On a busy day inside the coffee shop, a person approached me at the counter.

"Hello! Excuse me. May I have your time for a moment? I have something to offer you." The person said it. I called Clint to stand on the counter for me for a while because the person called me. I went to the person's table, and she explained to me why she approached me.

"Would you like to work for me as a model?" She asked. I was confused and wondered why she chose me to become her model. Because my height doesn't qualify for it.

"I am sorry! Did I scare you? Did I invite you suddenly? I like your face very much. I know you were wondering why I chose you despite your height. But I don't care about that and I can see you have a perfect body, too. That is why you captured my attention. Don't worry, I am not a bad person. My business partner was a wealthy family, and we ran a model agency for a long time. I have many talents that are very popular now. If you accept my calling card to interview you further about yourself, please call me so we can talk if you have any concerns. The address of my company was on the back of my calling card. It may help you a lot financially." I accepted her calling card and said, "Please give me time to think about it first. I will call you when I decide. Thank you for your offer and please excuse myself. I still have work to do, madam." The lady nodded at me.

"I looked forward to your call." She told me before leaving the coffee shop and she waved at me.

I told Cassy about what I had encountered today.

"Why don't you try it, Arien? It can help you save money to get a PHD. And besides, you are beautiful."

"I know I can save money with it. But I am afraid. What if they find out about the scar on my back?"

"Try to open up to them. Maybe they have a solution for that. Just try telling them. There's nothing wrong with trying."

"OK, I will think about that before I sleep."

I laid on my bed and thought about the offer.

"Yeah, Cassy was right. There's nothing wrong with trying. OK, I will call the lady tomorrow."

In my free time, I called the number that the lady gave me. And she said that I should come to her office and talk about my work. The lady was waiting for me when I arrived. We talked about various things at work. She told me being a model must remember the Do's and Dont's.

"Anyway, Arien. Do you play sports?" She asked, and I told her I am a motocross rider.

"Brilliant! Not all girls can play that." She exclaimed.

"Madam, I have some concerns to tell you."

"Sure, feel free to tell me. I'm all ears." I removed my shirt and showed her my back to let her see my scar.

"Oh, dear! Who was the person who did that to you? Don't worry Arien, before showing you to people, let's treat that scar first. I will handle that for you. Also, I will make an appointment with my dermatologist. I hope that solves your problem."

"Yes, madam, thank you."

"I will inform you later about the surgery for your scar." I nodded and bowed to her and left the office.

I hurriedly drove my scooter to go to work. Luckily, I was not late. I changed into my work uniform and started cleaning before the customers came.

I was cleaning the door glass in our shop when I spotted Dave was passing by and parked his car nearby. He came closer to our shop. I stopped wiping the door and greeted him.

"I am sorry, Sir. We are not open yet." Dave was surprised.

"Arien, I didn't know you were working here."

"Hahaha! Didn't I mention this?"

"No! Just now I found out about it."

"Maybe I couldn't mention this to you when we were both busy. By the way, why are you here?"

"I have something to do about my homework and having a coffee here. Isn't it very dangerous for you to work here near our school?" I covered Dave's mouth promptly. And I looked around as if someone had heard what he said.

"Dave, anyone here doesn't know where I studied except my manager. Keep your voice lower." Dave nodded, and it startled me when Zion appeared out of the blue.

"I didn't know that you were close to each other," Zion stated.

"Why are you here, Zion? Are you going to buy a coffee, too?" Dave asked Zion.

"I was only passing by, and I saw both of you. You have known each other for a long time. I was just curious. How did you meet Rie Dave?"

"Rie?" Dave was confused about who Rie was. And I pointed at my name tag to give a signal to Dave. Dave looked at my name tag and realized my name in the shop was Rie.

"Yes, she was the one I told you about. One of my riders." Dave explained.

"Oh, I see. She was the one, too. Remember what I told you about Dave when I visited you in a small town? I met a girl on the street who looked like an angel. And told you I liked her? It was Rie, and I recently found out that she worked here. But that was before. I have someone I love now. Anyway, I have to go. I need to meet Jessica now." I frowned when I heard Zion's sentence and turned my back suddenly.

"Dave, what happened to Rie? Did you two fight?" Zion inquired.

"No!" Dave followed me inside the shop to order a coffee and left Zion, since he had a schedule.

Zion wondered why I was suddenly angry.

"Did I make her angry when I told them I didn't like her anymore?" Zion whispered and shook his head.
