"Help me Helios, I need you,"

I cried just before collapsing. The dress I had been holding fell from my grasp. At the speed of light faster than was humanly possible Helios appeared before my side and caught me just in time before I hit the ground.

"Chelsey are you ok,"

Helios panicked as he scooped me up into his arms trying to figure out what was wrong. Looking into Helios's eyes which were filled with deep concern, I gasped,

"I'm burning. I need water. My body hurts all over. What is happening? Why won't this heat go away. I feel like I am on fire!"

Helios scooped me into his arms opening his robe he pulled me into his embrace and wrapped his cloak around me. I was instantly enveloped in the icy frigid cold air. It was like the inside of his cloak was a freezer. Pulling out his canister he held it to my lips and commanded me to drink. Not having to tell me twice I guzzled the water as fast as I could, drinking too fast the water slid down my lungs, I coughed and sputtered as water dripped down my chin, I leaned against his chest to weak to move.

Trembling and shaking my muscles ached from where the sun scorched my skin and with the sudden temperature change from hot to cold, my body couldn't keep up with the demands, I shivered in his arms. Why is the sun being so cruel, I thought. It was now or never. She must know the truth about her planet. Wrapping his arms around me he took his thumb and forefinger and turned my chin to face him, with a deep sigh Helios spoke with sadness in his voice,

"Chelsey there is one more thing you must know, your Sun is about to die. When a Sun dies it will destroy everything in its path in order to create a new solar system. That means the Earth we are on now will cease to exist. Everyone on this planet will die. You have to come with me beyond the stars so that I can protect you. Staying here will mean absolute certain death. I can't lose you,"Helios rushed as he stared deep into my eyes trying to read my mind. "Please I'm begging you, you must let me save you."

"I can't live my life without you. I refuse to let you die here on this forsaken planet that treated you so horribly. Please come back with me, even if you don't want to love me, at least let me save your life so that you may live another day to change your mind."

He stared at me with tears in his eyes. Was what he was telling me true?! Was my planet about to be wiped away by the sun? Was this why it was so hot and the military was taking people underground? If Helios thinks my planet will be wiped out then going underground won't save anyone. Does this mean that everyone will die here? My heart and mind were racing a million miles a minute my pulse quickening again. My head was about to explode with this news. I was going to faint any minute now. Why does my planet have to die? I don't want to die, I'm too young to die. Does that mean my family will die too?

I don't have any friends here, no family that loves me. They left me to die, they knew what was happening and yet they abandoned me to save themselves. Kaleb turned me down, he never loved me, he only ever loved my cousin. There was no one else that I knew here, my parents died along time ago. So there was nothing left holding me back here. But why am I still hesitating? I wanted to say yes, I needed to say yes, but I was so scared, I thought as I bit my lip not sure what to say.

I didn't want to die, even though my life sucked here, I still didn't want to die. A minute went by before I looked into Helios's eyes,

"I don't want to die,"

I croaked grasping the front of his robes with desperation in my eyes. This was the only confirmation he needed. His Queen had spoken, she doesn't want to die. If she were to stay she will die for sure but if she comes with me she will live and I have no choice but to grant her wish to live.

With that Helios, tightened his grip around me pulling me into his chest and holding me in his arms as if I weighed next to nothing, and in a thundering tone he bellowed out,

"Ihloi ready the ships, I am taking my Queen home.

"Yes your Highness,"

a voice called out from a distance just inside the trees. A moment later a man that looked to be in his forties stepped out of the trees. He waved his hand toward the trees and a couple minutes later the invisibility charm was thrown off and multiple space ships appeared before me hovering just above the tree line. Starring in aww, I was taken aback by the sheer mass of the ships and suddenness of how fast they appeared. Had they always been here? How come I never noticed? Does the invisibility spell let me walk right through them? I had so many questions about the magic they were using.

I craned my neck around trying to count them all but I lost count after thirty three there were so many hidden even behind the ones I couldn't see. I truly had no idea things like this existed. I thought the beautiful man was joking when he said he was from the stars. I was baffled, something like this can only happened in the movies right? But I guess I was wrong. The next moment a beam of white light surrounded Helios and I as it began to lift us toward the ships. Helios wrapped his arms around me tightly pulling me closer to his face.

"Let's go home, my Queen,"

Helios crooned into my ear over the loud humming of the ships. Looking down toward the ground, panic began to set in the higher we rose up from off the ground. Humans are not supposed to be able to fly. Seeing the worried expression on her face Helios pulled her closer and shouted above the wind coming from the ships engines,

"I will not let you fall. I will never let that happen, I promise."

All of a sudden it started raining down little silver stars all around us. Helios watched as his Queen hesitantly reached out and tried to grab one of the stars but they danced just beyond her finger tips. Grumbling she tried again this time not missing. She opened her palm to see the star just in time before it vanished. Thank you Ihloi, Helios thought as he smirked knowing Ihloi was using his charm magic to temporarily distract his Queen from panicking. She is so adorable Helios thought.

This was the second time he was up close to his Queen while she was awake and could stare into her eyes. Looking deep into her eyes, in broad daylight he could really see just how beautiful her eyes really were. They shone with the color of emeralds inlaid with gold flecks. As the sun shone in her eyes the gold lit up like fire. She had tiny microscopic tears frozen in her eye lashes from being inside his robes of winter he had received as a gift back in Kosea.

He has never seen eyes as beautiful as hers before. Everyone back in Kosea either has blue black or grey eyes. If he had the time he would have stared into her eyes for all of eternity and never tire from their beauty. Her cheeks flushed under his loving gaze, they turned pink like the roses he collected, sitting on top of a fresh January snow that resembled her pale skin. Her frame was so tiny and delicate. One wrong move and he could crush her fragile body with his strength.

She was so beautiful that he couldn't resist the urge to kiss her. He leaned down and taking a hold of her delicate face he planted a kiss on her exquisite red lips. Her eyes widened in shock, at first her lips remained firm and unmoving, but as he glided his tongues over her lips, she gasped opening her lips just enough for him to taste just how sweet her mouth really was. Every muscle in his body tensed, the taste of her mouth was intoxicating him.

As we ascended toward the ships I began to see tiny silver stars raining down. They sparkled in the sun as they flitted about like shooting stars. It was so memorizing that I couldn't resist trying to grab one. I extended my hand reaching for a star but it dodged my hand at the last moment. Determined I reached out again and was able to snag one. I opened my hand and stared at the beautiful star. It was cold to the touch like a tiny snow flake, but then it vanished. I pouted my cheeks flushing as it disappeared.

I wanted to keep the tiny star. Looking back at Helios I was thrown off guard as he stared deep into my eyes. I blushed not used to being stared at with so much love in his eyes. Without any warning he planted a kiss on my lips. I froze shocked that he would be so bold as to kiss me when we just met. This was my very first kiss! I didn't know what to do, I was not prepared to receive my first kiss so soon.

I felt his tongue glide across my lips, and I gasped, his tongue entwined with mine almost as if he was tasting me, I inhaled his scent and it was indescribable, it could almost be compared to a winter breeze on the highest mountain top, but even then I still couldn't find the right word to describe my first kiss with Helios. I melted like putty in his arms, letting his lips mold with mine. When his fingers entwined in my hair I felt a connection like never before, it was like the flood gates to my heart poured out into the universe.

The grey clouds in my heart dissolved as every fiber of my being screamed to the heavens wanting his love all to myself. I so badly wanted Helios to hear my thoughts right now as my mind screamed at him. You are the sunrise to my sunset. You are the moonlight that lights up night. You are the stars that light up the path I walk on. There is no one else in this world that can ever compare to him.

He is my savior, my King and I will love him like an eternal flame for all of eternity!!! I finally knew why I was alive. I was alive in order to love my King this King who was holding me in his arms. The light of a thousand moons emanating from him pierced right through my heart. Because of you my life now has a purpose... her lips locked together with mine and it was in this moment that every fiber of my being wanted to protect my Queen with my life he thought with a burning fiery passion raging through his heart.

I would do anything for my Queen. I will cast every protection spell I have learned since the beginning of time to shield her from anything that wants to do her harm for I was able to see into her heart and her mind for the first time with no barrier holding me back for a brief moment. Her heart, mind, body, and soul was screaming at me telling me how much she loved me.

It was the most divine moment of my life to be able to see into the heart of my Queen and see just how much she loved me even though we had only just met. It was fate, and destiny that brought us together. The universe really wanted us to be together. I am glad I waited forever for this moment. There's was no way I could be with one of those heartless females from Kosea. Not when this little one here had all the love in the world to give with no one to give it too.

Her heart and soul were so beautiful white and pure. Whatever my queen desires she will get. (Because of her my life now has a purpose.) He gently brushed her hair over one of shoulders and leaning down he placed his lips on the back of her neck, a blue flame erupted from his lips as he marked her with his seal of protection. A crescent moon, with a ring around it surrounded by five stars appeared on her pale skin. This mark will protect her and ward off any male from wanting to pursue her until she was mature enough to mate. This mark was the mark of a King's protection. So no one would dare go against this mark for if they did it meant certain death.

With our lips still locked we had now entered one of the alien ships. Ihloi was standing there with the most amusing look on his face as he cleared his throat,

"eh hem," he coughed. "Sire it's time to go. The sun is about to give way anytime now."

When I noticed the man that Helios called Ihloi was staring at me with his eyes wide, I pulled away from Helios's lips and turned my face into his robes out of embarrassment from getting caught kissing someone I had just met. Especially since the person I just met was supposedly a King.

Helios's gaze met Ihloi's, his advisor frowned at him, for kissing the female child before she was ready. The King shrugged, not at all phased. He was just thrilled that he was able to see into her heart just this once. He turned and hollered to everyone on the ship,

"everyone let's move out. We have to make the space jump before the sun explodes." And with that the real chaos was just about to begin.

——————————————————————————

"Now everyone listen up, I want everyone on this bus to remain seated until each row in front of you has exited. I want everyone in single file lines, as you exit you will see the bunker doors to your right. Just inside the doors there will be a stairwell. When I say go all of you need to run as fast as you can down to level fifty seven. There isn't much time before the doors are sealed and no one will be allowed to come in or out. We have no power so we can't use the elevator. There will be no pushing no arguing and no fighting do I make myself clear?!"

The military man barked standing at the front of the bus. There were several buses lined up waiting for everyone to unload into the military bunkers.

"Everyone remain calm," he said walking off the bus for a moment, upon his return he shouted,

"everybody up, single file lines go go go."

Marvin, Marge and Sarah grabbed their one bag each and ran off the bus toward the bunker, not knowing what to expect when they got to level fifty seven.

"Daddy I'm scared," Sarah whined. "My feet hurt."

"Then take those damn heels off and walk barefoot. We don't have time for your feet to hurt."

Sarah cried out never having been treated so poorly in her life. All she can think about was Josh. Kicking off her heels, and following her parents they ran down the stairs finally reaching level fifty seven. Looking around Sarah saw other kids that were from her school here with their parents. As she kept scanning she finally laid eyes on Josh and Kaleb huddled in a corner terror stricken. Her heart lifting a little she walked over and joined them.

"Man am I'm glad to see you guys. So it looks like all our families have been selected to be saved from the solar flare," Sarah scoffed flipping her hair over her shoulder still haughty and selfish as ever.

"Do you know what's going to happen or how long we have to be stuck in here for?" Sarah asked sarcastically. I need to get back to my life at home."

Kaleb looked around confused as to why her cousin wasn't with her,

"hey what happened to your cousin," Kaleb piped up interrupting Sarah. "Did she make it too?"

"Oh her? No she was not selected so we left her. Last I knew she was at school when Josh dumped pudding down her chest," Sarah giggled remembering the funny scene at school. Kaleb frowned not impressed with what he was hearing.

"How could you guys do that.? She's your cousin. She's probably scared to death right now wondering where you guys are at and how half the neighborhood has gone missing. Does she even know about the EBS yet? She ran out of the school before the day was over. She's all alone out there,"

Kaleb yelled as he cast his eyes to the floor feeling really guilty about turning her down earlier.

"Who cares she's a nobody. Knowing her she'll probably find a way to survive. She always bounces back up whenever she's not wanted," Sarah giggled again. (Sarah did not know just how true her words really were.) The next moment another military man came into the room shouting,

"everybody listen up. We need everyone to sit on the floor and put their head between their knees and clasp your hands together and cover the back of your necks, and brace for impact. The solar flare is going to happen any minute."

Everyone got on the floor and did as they were told panicking at what was about to take place. Kaleb got down on the floor stewing in his thoughts about Sarah's cousin. He was feeling worse by the minute. He really regretted ever having feelings for Sarah. She was nothing more than a straight up bitch.

She even neglected her own cousin not caring about whether she was going to live or die. Today showed him just really how selfish she was. One of the last thought that crossed his mind was,

"I wish that I knew her name."

Everyone sat in complete silence waiting for something to happen, suddenly there was a creepy silence broken by a flash of blinding light, an intense heat, and poof the end of existence as the human race was completely wiped out minus one single human female child.

——————————————————————————

Helios with the Queen still in his arms dashed to the medical wing of the ship as many medical personal were scrambling about preparing the room for the Queen. Finding the nearest seat in the room he sat down and pulled the child onto his lap buckling them in with her facing him.

"What's happening?"

I asked glancing around at the medical staff running around grabbing blankets, machines, tubes, a needle! My eyes widened at the huge needle in one of their hands.

"We have to get you out of the Earth's atmosphere before we can start the procedures for the space jump, so no heart issues arise from the gravitational force. From there you will be put into a hyper sleep and then into a hibernation pod designed for humans to be able to make a space jump. Your body will not be able to cope with a space jump to another galaxy, your much to fragile for that."

"We need to do this before the sun gives way otherwise the whole fleet will go up with the sun and we will all parish. But until we get you to safety we are all risking our lives to make sure you can survive the space jump."

The medical team ran around in a panic checking charts and hooking up tubes everywhere. One of them came in and took a blood sample from me. My head was spinning from all the commotion.

"Ok Sire we are ready for launch,"

Ihloi came in strapping himself into the seat next to the King. A minute later we were shooting upward toward outer space. My heart jumped into my throat as I clung onto Helios for dear life screaming from the g-force and the build up of pressure all around me. I felt like I was on one of those shock drop rides at the fair only this one never seemed to end as I was flung forever upward into space.

For the next eight and a half minutes the ship bucked, jerked, and shook. I was scared out of my wits, it was true we were really leaving Earth! I clutched tightly to Helios's robes burying my face into his chest.

"Sire we aren't gonna make it, we are almost out of time," he whined holding up his watch that was counting down the minutes before the sun was about to give way.

"Quite Ihloi you are going to frighten her, we will make it." Helios gritted his teeth clutching the child tight in his arms, stroking her hair and her face to try to calm her. Frightened me? I was already frightened. I feel like I am going to puke!

"Come on, come on, faster," I heard Helios growl beneath me. Just when I thought this ship couldn't possibly shoot up any faster, the captain must have kicked the engines into high gear, I sunk into Helios unable to even twitch from the amount of G-force on me.

We had finally exited the Earth's atmosphere. Upon entry into space I started to float above Helios's lap no longer controlled by gravity. If it wasn't for the seatbelt holding me down I would have floated to the ceiling or was it the floor. Everything was all messed up. I was getting so dizzy.

Helios quickly unbuckled us shouting,

"move, move, move! Everyone into positions we must sedate her now," he carried me over to the medical bed laying be down and strapped me in. The doctors all swarmed and started taping tubes to me and in my nose and one stuck me with a needle as an IV drip monitor began to beep near my head. Sedate wait no one said anything about sedating. Hyper sleep? what was hyper sleep? Would someone please tell me what is going on? I began to freak out with everything that was happening.

"Helios I'm scared,"

I called out trying to reach for his hand for comfort. My heart was racing in my ears. I wanted all of this to be over. I felt like I was in a nightmare, and if I could just wake up, it would all be over.

"The ship will be ready in five minutes to make the jump your Highness,"

Ihloi called out as he came over to stand beside the King.

"I'm sorry if this all frightens you my Queen but it is necessary if you are to survive. Everything will go back to normal soon,"

Ihloi smiled with the love of a grandfather shining in his eyes.

Looking out the one and only tiny little window in the room the ship began to shake. The engines roared to life as the wormhole opened up. And then I saw it, the Sun was glowing brighter than ever before. Solar winds and flares were shooting out all over the sun sending blasts of heat waves in every direction. In the next minute there was a blinding white hot flash as the sun gave its last breath before shooting out in all directions. I watched as it blasted through Mercury, Venus, and then Earth and its moon. Helios stepped in front of my view to shield me from the horror I just witnessed.

I literally just watched as the entire Earth was destroyed in a single blast from the sun as we entered the wormhole. My heart cried out as I reached toward the window one last time before it was lights out for me. My eyes drooped and closed, my hand falling to the bed, turning everything from light to dark as the IV drip in my arm finally put me into a long deep sleep, the last words I was able to utter before I drifted off to hyper sleep were,

"Helios I'm so scared."

Seeing that his Queen was asleep he shouted to everyone on the ship,

"into positions everyone, brace for impact."
