Chapter 48 Visitors

Casting a spell, Asa removed the barrier that surrounded the doors to this room. He opened the door, and in filed my three best friends, Arthur and Eleanor and Ira one of my private guards. Their eyes lit up as soon as they saw me. Sprinting over, they were about to jump onto my bed to hug me when Asa and Helios both held out their arms stopping their assault on me, "you must tread lightly, her Highness is still in a lot of pain. You mustn't jostle her so, quiet yet," Asa warned them. They all nodded guilty that they had almost caused her more pain. I looked over at Eleanor, and glanced back at my soup. I didn't want to seem rude so I ate a few more bites. She smiled seeing me eat the soup she made.

I could taste the soup, but there was another taste that was bothering me. I couldn't put my finger on it but it kind of tasted like rust and it was way too salty. This was not like Eleanor's usual cooking. Asa said that she had added ingredients that would help with my strength but I couldn't stomach eating anymore of that soup. Asa brought over the vial that held my baby, grateful for the distraction, I pushed the soup as far away from me as possible. My friends all filed in close around my bed being very careful not to touch even the sheets. "I'm not that fragile," I giggled seeing their careful expressions. "Come, take a look," everyone leaned in waiting for my announcement. "Everyone, I would like to introduce you to Ezra, he is the most beautiful male I have ever seen."

Helios raised his eyebrow at my words, blushing I corrected myself, "sorry second most beautiful male I have ever seen next to Helios." Everyone laughed seeing the jealousy on their King's face. Asa grabbed the screen and turned it on, he played the short snippet of my baby's future for everyone to see. Everyone had similar reactions to Helios and Asa when they first saw my baby. "The little darling, he has your eyes," Eleanor wiped a tear from her eye. "He will turn out to be a fine young King one day. Everyone will admire him and his likeness to you two," Arthur said beaming with pride. "I call dibs on mating with him," Sophie shouted. Everyone turned and stared at her. My jaw dropped shocked at her words.

"How can you two become mates? You'll be too old for him, he is just a newborn. How can you already call dibs on him?" "That's easy, I can stop aging and wait for him to catch up to me. He is so handsome, there is no other male like him. And besides I'm the only female left who hasn't mated yet, a King gets first mating rights to any female available so that means I'm next in line. She said pinching my cheeks, hasn't anyone told you yet that Kings get first mating rights yet?" I glanced over at Helios, "no this is the first I'm hearing about it." Everyone now turned their eyes on Helios, who shrugged his shoulders, "I didn't think it was important to teach her that yet." Everyone laughed merrily at his innocent expression.

Asa came over to my bed, "eat!" He commanded softly reminding me to eat the soup. He pushed my soup back in front of me. "You need your strength, you've hardly eaten a bite in almost two days." I stared at the soup with a gloomy look. I didn't want to eat anymore of the soup. Asa placed the spoon in my hand, and pushed the soup closer. My hand shaking I scooped up a spoonful and shocked in a couple of bites. My face turned green, my insides churning from the awful taste. "I need a bucket quick," I shouted kicking the tray on wheels away from me knocking over my soup. Asa found a huge bowl and handed it to me just in time. I let loose a stream of vomit retching my guts out trying to get rid of the soup in my system.

I looked up clinging to the bowl of vomit, "I don't like hospital food," I cried leftover vomit dribbling down my chin. There was a flurry of activity in the hospital room as Helios and Asa got rid of the bowl in my hand and wiped the vomit off my chin. I fell back into my pillows clutching my tummy. "My tummy hurts," I cried out pain written all over my face. Silas came over and patted my arm. Her skin! It was ice cold beneath his hand. "She needs her blankets warmed up she is ice cold," he shouted. "Ca... can I borrow Be'ron's fire blanket," I asked weakly from the cloud of pillows. "Thes...these ones aren't wor...working," I chattered. Asa sent a note to Be'ron and within minutes the blanket that I had used before popped out of thin air landing in Asa's outstretched arms.

He then came over and toss off the other blankets and wrapped me in the fire blanket provided by Be'ron. I was instantly enveloped in warmth, it was like I had stepped into a desert and the warm arid air surrounded me. He lifted the blanket trying not to expose my skin to the cool air and massaged my pelvis trying to alleviate the pain in my abdomen. Silas and Lucas came over and picked up the tray on wheels and cleaned up the spilled soup. They quickly took it away so that I didn't have to smell its contents. "I'm so sorry my dear, I didn't realize you wouldn't like it. I can prepare something else for you if you would like," Eleanor stared at my with worry in her eyes. "It's ok I'm not hungry anymore, I'll eat later." I had completely lost my appetite.

Ira came over and signed to me, "will you be ok?" I smiled weakly, and stuck my hand out from under the blanket to pat his hand. She was too weak to even sign back to him. She turned her head and closed her eyes whimpering in pain. She had slipped back into the dark, unconscious. "The poor dear, she must have pushed herself too hard so soon after her extraction. She hardly touched her food. She must be so hungry. I'll go prepare another batch of soup for her, for when she wakes up again." Eleanor and Sophie turned on their heels and dashed out heading to the temporary makeshift kitchen. Everyone minus Helios and Asa headed out to stand guard in the hall. Once everyone was gone Asa grabbed his black notebook where he kept a detailed log of the Queen's medical history and started writing down his observations.

"What are you writing down this time," Helios inquired. "She didn't like the soup, I believe the cause of her vomiting was from the soup and was not from her extraction. I noticed how she only took a few bites of the soup and pushed it away with disgust. Her face turned green when I made her take a couple more bites. I'm beginning to believe that humans aren't supposed to consume the placenta. Females here enjoy the taste, but her highness found it distasteful even after Eleanor had disguised the taste. She was still able to taste it. This is only my assumption of without asking her about it of course. We can always try again when she wakes up. But if she doesn't eat within the next few hours we might have to forego the placenta, it will take her longer to recover but it can be done the long way."

Helios nodded, he didn't want his Queen to suffer. He wanted her to get better as soon as possible, but if consuming it made her sick then they shouldn't push it like Asa recommended. The last thing he wanted was for her to go hungry. He never wanted her to experience hunger ever again not after what little he had witnessed when she was on Earth. Her family let her go hungry only feeding her scraps and when there was a food shortage they didn't share at all, forgetting all about her. "Send a note to Eleanor, tell her to not mess with her food. I can't bare to watch her go hungry. It will take her even longer to recover if she doesn't eat. I'd rather it take her longer to recover than to see her starve. After what I witnessed on Earth it pains me to see her suffer." Asa watched as a fiery rage built up in the King's eyes.

He came over and sat down by the King, "what happened to her on Earth? Her life before coming to Kosea is a complete mystery to us, only you and Ihloi know about her previous life, why do you look like you want to murder somebody every time you talk about her past life on Earth?" Helios unclenches his fists. He didn't realize he body language was showing such anger. He sighed rubbing him temple, "I wasn't able to witness much while I was there. I was only able to observed roughly two weeks of her life when we found her in a country they called America. The people she was living with treated her like a prisoner. She was forced to perform various duties that had her up at dawn and awake until the late hours. She had to walk everywhere carrying heavy loads, cook their food, clean their house, and basically everything a male would do here."

She was tossed aside by her own family when their military evacuated the people of importance underground to try to escape what they kept calling a solar flare. She was abandoned, with no one to look after her or even care if she existed. But what I found to be the most strangest thing about her life is that no one on Earth ever mentioned her name. Her own family kept calling her "hey you, brat, get over here," she attended a school while she was there and not even the children or her teachers called her by name, and even stranger yet, when they had to give names and ID's to get food from their military due to a food shortage, their military had no record of her existence. It was almost as if she didn't exist on her own planet."

"After they couldn't find her in their systems an older female ended up giving her some bread but then my Queen gave it away to another female. She was left to starve with no food and to fend for herself since her family left to go into hiding underground. By the time I rescued her, her flesh was burning, if I hadn't brought my winter cloak she would have burned to death in the heat. All of the things I saw were only two weeks worth of her life. I can only image what she went through before I showed up. I have also been suppressing her memories of her past life. I can't bare to have her think of that horrid place and everything she went through. And I most definitely can't stand to see her go hungry. She was so skinny when I found her. She probably weighed less than fifty pounds soaking wet."

"How awful, I had no idea how much she has suffered. It's a good thing you got her out when you did. It's a shame we can't go back to look for her records, I would love to see her medical history before she came here," Asa said opening his black notebook. "That's the problem, they had no medical history on her either. They searched every database and she wasn't registered anywhere. It was almost as if she had been living on Earth as a ghost. No one ever uttered her name while I was there." "That does sound strange, humans always kept records on everyone, I wonder why she didn't have records of her own. Who took care of her when she got hurt or sick? How was she able to register for school? It's doesn't make sense to me." "I know tell me about it, I can't wrap my mind around it," Helios said shaking his head. "My Queen is a complete mystery."

Hearing a moan coming from the bed Asa and Helios's heads snapped in her direction. They came over helping her to sit up. "I need some water." Asa grabbed a cup and poured her a glass. He held it to her lips watching as the water trickled down her throat. Sighing she finished the entire glass. "How are you feeling my love," Helios asked stroking her back. "I feel much better. My stomach doesn't hurt as bad as it used to. Asa brought over another bowl of soup and sat it in front of me. "We made you some more soup, you should eat." I stared at the soup and sniffed it. It had that same rusty scent to it like before. I scrunched my nose, "I'm not hungry, I'll eat later." Helios and Asa stared at each other. She rejected it before even trying it. Her stomach let loose the loudest growl they have ever heard.

Helios raised his brow at her, are you sure you're not hungry?" "I'm sure, I don't want to eat so soon after vomiting, it might hurt my tummy again." She pushed the soup as far away from her as possible. A moment later her stomach growled again this time louder than the last. "Can I have another glass of water?" She asked blushing. Asa brought me another glass, I downed the whole glass trying to fill my tummy up so it wouldn't go empty. Helios was worried, he took a hold of her chin, "my love you must eat, you haven't eaten since coming to the infirmary, I can't bare to see you go hungry." Tears streamed down my face, "It's the soup, it's making me sick. I can't eat it," I cried. Asa's suspicions were confirmed, she can detect what's in her food isn't good for her. "Is there something else you would like to eat? I'll alert Eleanor not to add anything to it," Helios rushed.

My stomach growled, I was craving bacon. "Can I have some bacon a little undercooked? Cook it until it looks like ham but not crispy." Helios smiled. "Of course my love anything for you." He quickly sent a note to Eleanor, she refused the soups, forego to the placenta it's making her sick. She requested bacon a little undercooked, cook it until it looks like ham not crispy. After sending the note out to Eleanor he leaned down kissing my forehead, "please tell me if you don't like something or if it makes you sick. We don't know how to take care of you if you don't tell us." Asa nodded in agreement. "We only want what's best for you, your Highness." I clutched my knees to my chest, tears streaming down faster. "I don't know how to ask," I whispered.

Thoughts of how my uncle would hit me every time I asked for something flashed across my mind. If he couldn't reach me he would take off his shoe and throw it at me. It would hit my back as I tried to flee. If I went outside he would lock me out and I would have to spend the whole night on the porch. I buried my face in my knees crying from the memories flooding back to me. Helios heard my thoughts, his fist tightened hearing this, he reached out his hand to pat me on my back, but I flinched at his touch thinking he was going to hit me like my uncle, I waited but the pain never came. Instead Helios picked me up and sat me on his lap, he wrapped his arms around me soothing me, he whispered, "no one will ever hurt you again, you do not have to be afraid. No male will ever lay a hand on you here. That is a promise."

The Queen must have remembered something horrible from her past, otherwise why would she say she doesn't know how to ask for things? All females ever did here was demand for something to be brought to them twenty four hours a day. Just how bad was her life on Earth that had her so afraid to ask for something as small as food to eat, and even has her flinching at her mates touch? He shuddered just thinking about the horrors that befell her. He felt angry for whoever would stoop this low and do something like this to her. He wanted so badly to take her from the Kings arms and comfort and protect her himself, but all he could do was watch in silence as the King comforted his Queen from a distance. The King really was lucky to have found such a wonderful mate, someone who deserves to be taken care of for the rest of her life.

Helios held me tight, rocking me in his arms. He promised me that no one would ever hurt me here, and so far for the past six months he was true to his word, I was well protected, well fed, and loved beyond measure. But why did I get the feeling like all of this was going to end? My new life was way too good to be true. I must have died back on Earth with everyone else and I was stuck in limbo waiting for my new life. There was a saying on Earth, that if it was too good to be true then it probably was. I felt like any moment I was going to wake up and my fairytale life will completely disappear and I'll be stuck back with my aunt and uncle. "Helios, can you pinch me?" Helios frowned, "I am not going to pinch you. I don't want to hurt you." Oh great even my dream prince doesn't want to pinch me. I knew it, I was stuck in a dream.

Helios heard her thoughts, why does she want me to pinch her to prove she wasn't in a dream? Asa came over not being able to resist her request. He stroked her arm before he pinched her as gently as he could. "Ow," I cried out, "that hurt." Helios growled, "why would you pinch her? She's still trying to recover" Helios snarled through his teeth. "Her Highness requested to be pinched, so I obliged," Asa shrugged. I looked around, I was still in the infirmary. I did not wake up back at my aunts and uncles house. Giddiness built up inside of me, seeing Asa and Helios snarling at each other I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Both of them turned startled by my laughing. "I'm not dreaming after all, I didn't wake up to a nightmare." They both stared at me confused.

"You weren't sleeping, you've been awake," Helios said looking confused. "No, no, on Earth we had a saying that if it's too good to be true then it probably is. We also say pinch me I must be dreaming. If you pinch yourself in your sleep and wake up then you were dreaming, if you remain in that dream after getting pinch then that means you are not dreaming. Asa pinched me and I'm still here with you, I didn't wake up back home, it means I was not dreaming you guys are real, and this is my new home, and I really did give birth. It means if I did this," I tackled Helios to the bed until he was laying in my pillows, I leaned down and placing my lips on his grazing the coolness of his lips with mine, I whispered against his lips, "it means this is real too." Asa startled turned away blushing.

He didn't want to get caught eavesdropping on their intimate moment, so he walked out of the room to look for her bacon. The scent of her wanting to mate was still strong in his nose. His members stiffened as he battled with himself, fighting his urges. Helios was shocked at how playful his mate was. He chuckled under her lips, "I can assure you my love that you were not dreaming. I am real and this," he said caressing my spine with his finger tips, "is real," he flipped me on my back so he was hovering above me, "and this is real too, "I felt his members stiffen against my privates through his clothes as he leaned down and kissed my neck. I gasped under his lips my breathing becoming labored. His kissed trailed down my neck to just the top of my breasts.

He stopped glancing up into my eyes, her eyes were filled with lust for him, her eyes swam with a need for him. If she wasn't still in the infirmary recovering, he would have ripped off his clothes and took her to bed with him. His lips left her breasts and trailed back up to her lips, he felt her pouty face under him, he chuckled as he kissed her forehead, "soon my love, you must recover first, believe me, it's killing me having to say no. He entangled himself from her grasp, just as Asa and Eleanor came back with a heaping plate full of bacon his Queen had requested. He just finished straightening up his robes just as Asa looked up at him jealousy on his face. Eleanor placed the bacon on the bedside table and wheeled it over to me. My stomach growled in anticipation.

Once the plate was in front of me, my jaw dropped, the bacon was stacked a foot off the plate! There was probably a good five pounds of bacon sitting in front of me. "It's as big as a mountain! There is no way I'm going to be able to eat all of this," I said glancing at Asa. "We made extra since you haven't eaten in two days, eat as much as you'd like. There is more in the kitchen if you need it." I shook my head, even if I hadn't eaten in a week I still wouldn't be able to finish what was on my plate. "Eat," Asa commanded sternly, "if you don't eat I'll come feed it to you." Seeing that he was serious, I grabbed my fork and speared my undercooked bacon and popped one into my mouth. The bacon melted on my tongue as soon as I closed my mouth around it.

My eyes rolled back into my head. I was in heaven, I had two gorgeous males looking after me and a plate full of bacon. Life couldn't get much better than this. Realizing just how hungry I was I shoveled the bacon in as fast as I could. Helios tried to reach for one but I put my arm over the plate shielding it and growled, "my bacon." Asa and Helios laughed enjoying seeing her eat with a lot more gusto than before. Within minutes she had finished off the whole plate and was requesting seconds. Eleanor came in with a second plate, she sat it down in front of me, "I'm glad to finally see you eat, you had me worried there for a minute. I'm sorry about the soup. I can make more later without the added ingredients. If there is something you don't like let me know right away and I can change it." I nodded, with a mouthful of bacon I replied, "your bacon is excellent. I love it. Can I have some more?"

She smiled, "of course dear right away," she dashed out of the room in a hurry to make more before the Queen was done with her second plate. When I was half way through my second plate a note dropped in front of me landing on my lap, curious I opened it. Little tiny sparks shot out of the note raining down little fireworks, it was amazing the magic that they could do here. Looking at the words I frowned, "I can't read it," Helios took the note from me he read, "congratulations my Queen on your successful extraction, I send this note in regards to the heirs birth. We can't wait to meet the little one. Signed Be'ron." "I forgot the visiting Kings are still here. Send a message, I am almost done eating, they can all come in to visit. Helios nodding sending my reply.

No sooner had he sent it, there was a knock on the door, "you may enter," Helios called out refusing to leave my side. Ihloi opened the door and ushered in all of the King's. He closed the door behind him so no one would dare try to peek in before their time. That was fast, I would assume they had been standing in the hall waiting for my response. I shook my head taking another bite of my bacon. The Kings gathered around my bed excited to hear the news. I swallowed my bacon, just as Asa brought over the vial that held my baby. Asa flipped on the screen again everyone turning to watch. "Wow your highness, your first try and you were able to produced a male heir for Kosea, congratulations you have secured the safety of the throne with your offspring," Be'ron bellowed.

I blushed when Be'ron mentioned my first try like it was a trivial matter. "You shouldn't tease her so, the lady is trying to eat," Arlae chastised. "Don't you worry about him my lady, he is only teasing. Rul'hal came over with a serious look on his face, "make sure to produce a lot of females, I wouldn't mind mating with one of your offspring." Everyone stared at Rul'hal, they couldn't tell if he was joking or if he was actually being serious because of how he said it. I stared wide eyed, he would be too old by the time I birthed a female. "I'm only kidding," Rul'hal laughed dropping his serious expression. The entire room erupted with laughter. "You about had me scared out of my wits," Helios cried clapped Rul'hal on his back. "Your going to give my mate a heart attack if you go around saying things like that." I blushed poking at my bacon.

"All jokes aside, I want to congratulate you, your Highness, I have been working along side his Highness for quite sometime and I can tell you this is probably one of the happiest moods I have ever seen him in. If it wasn't for you, he would still be slouched at his desk working his life away. Please watch over him and make sure you two don't get into too much trouble together. I'll forever be by his side watching over you two as you take your journey through life together," Ihloi wiped a tear from his eye, as he patted the back of my hand. "I'll try to keep him out of trouble, but it always seems like trouble finds me first." Everyone chuckled at her comment, they couldn't agree more with her. She was like a magnet for trouble. "What have you decided to name the young master," Ihloi asked.

His name is Ezra, it means Helper where I'm from. I picked his name because I believe he will grow up as a fine King and help all those that he will one day rule over. He will guide the city and all who reside in her walls, and help those in need. He will be a fair and just King just like Helios. "My what a fine name you have chosen my lady, I think those name will suit him well when he grows into it of course. You couldn't have picked a finer name for your offspring," Arlae crooned from the corner of the room. "I agree, for such a strong bloodline, your heir deserves a strong name," Be'ron came over and clapped Helios on his back. "It was a good idea letting her pick his name. I wouldn't have had it any other way if she was my mate."

He winked at Helios smirking. Be careful what you say Be'ron, you may be a King but you are in my territory," Helios growled. "Calm down will you, it was only in good fun," Be'ron teased. And so the day went, many visitors stopped by to find out my baby's gender and the name I have picked out. Asa played the clip of my baby over and over until I had every second of it memorized. I had finally finished two and a half plates of bacon before I was finally full to the brim. Seeing his Queen yawning and feeling exhausted from all the visitors and from all the bacon she had just finished, He and Asa shooed the remaining visitors away telling them to come back tomorrow, the Queen needed her rest so that she wouldn't over exert herself. They sealed the doors shut just as her eyes closed, her head hitting the pillows. Helios came over, covered her up, and kissed her goodnight.
