Sheng Zhen loeked around the city. The last time he was here, he stole from the auction house and fled before anyone could find me.
That was four years ago. In these four years, the city has not changed at all. Wide roads, sprawling building complexes, tight bazaars with people milling about; Ifre was a prosperous city, no doubt about it. Especially due to its close proximity to Indigo Beasts Forest, a lot of traders and mercenaries come here every day, and many sects have established branches here.
"We are here", Zihao said, pulling the cart near the back of a large building named 'Peach Blossom Fairy'.
"Peach Blossom Fairy, the best inn in the entire city. Here everyone from city lord to branch heads of sects come to eat, drink and dine."
The horse cart stopped in front of the back entrance. Both of them dismounted, and Zihao soon left to meet someone, leaving Sheng Zhen to take care of the cart.
'Now...how to earn spirit stones..., I can sell the Pills I refined but where...no one is going to take twelve years old seriously', he pondered, idly petted the steed.
"Screech"
Sheng Zhen looked up to spot a large fiery red eagle coming and circling overhead. Sheng Zhen could spot a few men in white robes standing on its back.
Another cry of a bird sounded and the bluebird he saw outside the city gate came into view. The bluebird was smaller than the Eagle but from their aura, Sheng Zhen could guess the bluebird was actually the one at higher cultivation.
After a few moments of gliding in the air, the bluebird landed followed by the City Lord's eagle somewhere in the Peach Blossom Fairy and the tall buildings obstructed his view of the avian beasts.
Sheng Zhen watched all the byplay, intrigued about the identity of Blue Bird and the cultivators atop it. From its aura and appearance, Bluebird did not appear to be a simple demonic beast.
Just with a mental command, Skyword appeared and turned to show him the results matching the description of the bluebird.
"Not this...not this either...Yes, this, Blue Plumed Luan", Among all the results Sheng Zhen searched among the results Skyword presented him.
'Rare, very high affinity for Ice and Wind, very fast, terrifyingly resistant to fire and frost Qi and have a faint bloodline of.., ancestors above!... Ice Pheonix.'
'Whoever owned it must be important.'
Suddenly Sheng Zhen had a thought, 'If I got a drop of blood from it, I might break through to next level of The Thousand Blood Beast Art progress, maybe...'
Just then the backdoor opened a bunch of youngsters came outside, looking dead drunk. All of them were wearing white robes, with yellow brocade which Sheng Zhen could assume were uniforms of some immortal sect.
"I will down your restaurant...believe me. So what city lord is your backer, I Jin Cuifen will not stand for this.", Spoke the guy with red brocade instead of yellow.
"Best inn, best inn my foot."
"Stupid inn, don't you know Brother Jin is the core disciple of Alchemy Hall."
"That is so unfair", Others agreed, but no one dared to curse loudly like 'Brother Jin'.
In the center stood a tall, pale boy around the age of sixteen whom others were calling Brother Jin. Both his hands held a gourd of wine and on his back was a Jian, sheathed but Sheng Zhen's senses told him that that was no ordinary sword.
Everyone in the group was around the eighth realm of Qi Gathering, with 'Brother Jin' having the highest cultivation, Second Stage of Foundation Establishment.
Sheng Zhen watched the byplay with amusement. Everyone here fit the stereotypical definition of Young Masters and Sheng Zhen found it amusing.
"Hey you there, bring us Peach Wine", a boy standing beside 'Brother Jin' ordered.
Sheng Zhen looked around before pointing at himself, "Who? Me?"
"Yea, who else you imbecile, go bring us some more wine" Another butted in, shaking his empty gourd, "Look mine is empty."
Inwardly Sheng Zhen groaned, 'Brother, why the hell are you dragging me in this'. As for arguing against arrogant, drunk snobs? He might as well argue with a brick wall.
Just then a plan formed in his mind and he smiled.
"Ugh..but my lords, I have no money", Sheng Zhen said, bowing down. Immediately he used his spiritual energy to cast a spell to obscure his face. They could clearly see his face but would have difficulty committing it to memory.
Good thing was that everyone in front was at a much lower realm than him. The spell would only work if the caster's cultivation was at least half a great realm higher than those from which the caster is hiding his face. And it also helped they were drunks.
Sheng Zhen did not want his actions to implicate his family in any way.
"Just go, we will pay afterward", the young master waved, not looking even a little bit sincere.
Outwardly Sheng Zhen just nodded, turned around, and left towards the inn. The moment he turned around the corner, he erased his presence using Shadowless Flight and left towards the direction of Blue Plumed Luan.
..
He did not have to search for long, the Blue Luan was not hiding its aura at all. He tracked it to a luxurious garden on one side of the inn.
Surrounded by various spirit flowers and fruits, it just lay there on soft grass, lazying around in the autumn sun.
Only looking closer that Sheng Zhen realized how huge the Luan was, body twice the size of his home, with a slender neck and head. On its head was its namesake, a blue plume a shade darker than the rest of its body.
Sheng Zhen covered his face with his fur cloak while keeping his Qi restrained and jumped down from the roof, into the garden.
Luan immediately turned to him upon sensing motion but on sensing no cultivation from Sheng Zhen, it again closed its eyes with a snot, completely ignoring him.
With an evil grin etched on his face, Sheng Zhen spoke, "Hey Luan, do you want this?", he pulled out a block pill about the size of a baby's fist.
The moment Luan laid eyes on the pill, the lazy gleam in its eyes vanished, replaced by greed. Sheng Zhen was amused to note the drool leaking out of its beak.
The black pill was nothing but a large Qi supplementing pill, but instead of supplementing Essence Qi, it supplements Demonic Qi. As for why the pill was so large? Because it hid another pill inside.
"Here catch", Sheng threw the pill towards Luan, who snatched it out of the air and swallowed in a single gulp.
And promptly fell down, unconscious.
"Well...", Sheng Zhen pulled out a dagger, "That was easy."
