Chapter 36: Downfall

Third Person's POV

"Water Dragon eat him!" Aquafina shouted as the summoned water dragon attacked Car'hul.

The dragon dashed at Car'hul opening its mouth trying to devour him. Car'hul, the demon of attraction, stopped the dragon's attack by holding its jaw and nose.

"This is for my dad!" Citrus shouted and jumped from a whitemane to the back of Car'hul and pierced him with a spear.

"It tickles" Car'hul replied as blood drips from his abdomen. He then jumped and evaded the dragon's attack. He pulled the spear from his abdomen and threw it away. His scar is now healing rapidly, as if he wasn't damaged in the first place.

"Sisters, pull him down!" Aquafina shouted and all of the nymphs binded Car'hul with a giant water chain. They then pulled Car'hul into the water.

The dragon then quickly dived into the water to engage Car'hul.

"Citrus, why are you here? What happened to your brother and Tufan?" Aquafina asked.

"They're trying their best to hold their ground againts the arachnids. The spirithooves' earth walls are useless againts them, they can easily climb through them" Citrus anwered.

"You better go back" Aquafina said.

"But you can't take care of Car'hul by yourself" Citrus replied and picked up another spear.

"That's more of a reason that you should go back. If we cannot hold out here, you will still have a chance there." Aquafina said and then she dived to follow the dragon.

"No, I will stay here. We need everyone's help to win this war." Citrus rushed to an empty boat brought by the underworld army. He then rummaged through the barrels and containers looking for things.

"Is this a gargoyle teeth? This bat wing could work. Eye balls, fishes ... Ah preserved demon blood! Perfect. With this I can make a poison lethal to demons" Citrus said to himself. As he mixed different ingredients in a vial, dead bodies of nymphs floats to the surface one by one. "Sh*t, I need to rush" Citrus quickly mixed the ingredients in a small vial, but he's missing a single ingredient.

"Holy magic, holy magic... Who the hell used holy magic" Citrus exclaimed.

"You. Will. Never. Win" Car'hul flew from the sea, with Aquafina punctured by a dragon tooth while being chokes to death by him.

Citrus searched his surroundings for any person who can use or most likely to have holy magic. Then, he found Sky's body floating nearby.

"Will whitemane blood do the trick?" Citrus said and rushed to the corpse.

"Darkness... Never... Win" Aquafina said as she tried harder to gasp for air as she was being choked by Car'hul.

Citrus scooped a little blood from Sky's corpse and mixed it in the vial.

"Now, I need is an arrow or a spear to dip" Citrus said and swam back to the ship. She found some broken spears but it won't work out.

Looks like Aquafina saw what Citrus was doing. She held on Car'hul tight.

"If you... Not... Me go... We... Die... Together" She said and turned into thick water which wraps Car'hul.

"What are you doing let go of me!" Car'hul shouted and tried to shrug off Aquafina.

At the same time, Citrus found a crossbow with only one arrow to spare. He dip the arrow in the vial and loaded it. He then aimed for Car'hul, but as soon as he looked up. He saw Aquafina tying Car'hul with her body.

"Aquafina let go!" Citrus shouted but she just smiled and  shook her head. She whispered 'do it'.

Citrus then fires the crossbow as it pierced through Aquafina to Car'hul. Both of their bodies dropped to the sea, as Citrus landed on his knees.

On the other side of the island, Tufan with his spirithooves, Flarius and the remaining harpies, ironscales and whitemanes are battling the invading arachnids.

"Flarius, the fourth wall needs assistance" Tufan shouted as he reinforced another wall.

Flarius was killing the arachnids who passed through the 1st and 2nd walls while Tufan is reinforcing the remaining walls.

"We cannot hold out for long if this continues. There's just too many of them" Tufan said.

"We need to stay firm, Aquafina and the others are still battling on the side" Flarius replied.

A group of spirithooves falls everytime a wall is breached. Flarius tried his best to kill every arachnid who almost breached a wall, but most of time she will be overwhelmed by their numbers.

"This. This is not right. We cannot win this if this will be our strategy. We need to attack. We need to split our forces. Have one team defend and the other attack to balance the fight." Flarius suggested.

"That will make our walls easier to breach. We cannot afford to split our forces" Tufan replied.

"No. This is not a battle of attrition. We'll lose if we'll stay put. We need to make a move. I'll bring the harpies and ambush them." Flarius said "Harpies! Come with me!" All harpies flew to his direction as they went into the forest. They ran in circles and went straight to the forest. They went straight to the back of the enemies.

"Let's go. Attack!" Flarius shouted and sliced every arachnids that comes his way. The harpies flies and then grabs an arachnid then threw them at the sky one by one causing them to fall to their deaths.

"This is our chance. We need to attack!" Tufan shouted.

They also went on the offensive. Flarius and the iron scales pierced through the arachnids attacking forces, supported by Tufan and his spirithooves. They managed to pressure their enemies and halt their advancement.

"Everyone disperse!" Citrus joined in riding the water dragon that the nymphs summoned. It dashed through the fight and squashed some of the arachnids. The dragon let out a devastating roar. Although it is heavily injured from its fight against Car'hul, it can still stomp these bugs to pieaces.

"Brothers and sisters, the victory will be ours!" Tufan shouted and all of them fought the remaining enemies until no soldier of the underworld army is left.
