Sh*t Happens

"Tobi, why haven't you greeted your grandma?"

Tobi at this moment, stared at Christy for a few seconds assuming he might have heard wrongly, as he looked at her with a confounded look on his expression.

'Wasn't this old hag supposed to be the midwife? Unless Christy is referring to her as grandma' out of this world courtesy.' Tobi assured himself.

"Even though we haven't seen each other for quite some time now, is this how you little imps say hello to your lovely grandma?"

Tobi's eyes widened as he watched the old hag spur craps from her mouth, while she said those words she inferred a smile on her creased expression, while her hands ruffled Belle's hair a bit who smiled in return.

As if that wasn't enough, she slowly bent down a little and stare at him dead straight in the eyes.

"Don't tell me, you have forgotten me that quickly little brat?" She did what would be called a pout on her expression, exaggerating it until he could see she had a smug smirk on her face now.

Tobi nearly cursed out loud, 'The heck, this old hag I mean the woman is my grandmother? How the f*ck no one ever told me about this, until now?'

He felt like sh*t, as he stood in their midst flabbergasted and dazed, he didn't even know if he should be rejoicing or angry at both his parents and siblings.

Rejoicing because it was unlikely she would bring back their old feud when he was still a baby, as well cut them some slack on the treatment and fee of Belle.

Angry because no one ever mentioned, a thing about having any relationship outside their family.

Since it appears he was the only one unaware of this fact.

"Young man, how old are you?" She asked curiously with a gentle smile on her aged face, any normal grandma would have after seeing her grandchild after a long time.

"Three years and a few months old, and you?"Tobi was now sure this old lady was his grandma. However, he felt incredibly stunned and stupid at the same time, that he just blurted out what came out of his mouth.

His words had caught her by surprise, making her more interested in her little boy than her previous rage.

"At least a few decades to the grave." She replied sarcastically with a light laugh.

Christy was shaken by Tobi's sudden words that she had no time to cover his little mouth, from speaking.

"My little son seemed pretty smart, for his age."

The room was once again resounding with a clatter, but this time they were all flabbergasted as they discussed what the midwife had said.

"Did she just call that *Demon child* her little son?"

"Isn't this the first time she had ever praised any child before?"

Her words had caused quite the commotion, with many stunned and surprised comments.

Tobi wouldn't just let such an opportunity to talk to someone who was also his grandma slip by.

"Grandma...."Suddenly he realized that he had subconsciously added grandma. "Can you heal my big sister for free?"

"And what would you pay? In exchange for her treatment?" Her reply would have normally been different, but her interest had been piqued by her grandchild. As she found him amusing to her.

"I can work as your apprentice," Tobi replied before realizing, he was rushing things of a sudden all again. Was it because it was his first time communicating with a relative outside his family?

'Dammit! Anyway, it shouldn't be too bad if she accepts, it is like hitting two birds with one stone. I could also treat my sister's illness and earn money to improve our family.'

"Really? And what can you do exactly?"

"Yes, Tobi. What can you do?"Christy was stunned. Inwardly she wanted to know what her little son could do too? But to the outsider, her foot was furiously tapping the floor in annoyance, and her eyes could almost spur out laser beams, Tobi was sure he was in for some serious talking.

"I could sweep the floor, and help be your little errand boy." He said with a low apologetic tone, staring at her face.

"I'm sorry Mother, I just wanted you to know that am a big boy now."

The chattering increased in volume. Christy was incredibly surprised, and how much of what he had said was true, and how much if he had said could he do?

She wanted to Know. But at the same time not in front of strangers, and when everyone was now starting to stare at them with a hint of admiration.

'Mother seems really impressed. Maybe this is a turning point in Tobi's, if he could use this means to impose a tinge of love in mother's heart to cast a spell that transforms him back to a human. We could let reveal him to be a normal child in our family, I can't ruin this opportunity for him.' Christy thought silently to herself.

She kept her silence and wondered about her son's future, just maybe this could show the villagers he was just a normal child too.

"Would you please be willing to show me?" She asked laughing for the first time.

'Here goes nothing.' Tobi thought.

Someone had quickly rushed to bring a broomstick, as they handed it over to the midwife before passing it to him.

Taking the broom with both hands, he began wiping the floor that had slight sand and dust on them.
