Trade and family

His face kept changing complexion, it changed from white, ebony, and finally tanned.

There was a smile on his face, as he looked at what was before him, in the system interface.

[1:59]

After doing this Tobi squinted his eyes and stared at his hands that were now completely different than what they used to be, with an astonished expression.

However, he barely had over 1 minute fifty 8 seconds to finish what he had in mind, so he couldn't waste time admiring himself.

After looking at the countdown, he decided to move quickly.

'Time to go do some money shopping.' Tobi smiled and headed out.

Even though he had spent four years of his life in the village, Tobi was still new to the surroundings but he wasn't worried, with his senses he could already see signs ahead.

He ran past a few shops and a tavern, before arriving at a place where a multitude of locally made shops could be seen on both left and right.

This place was the local trading market square of the village, even though it was evening time, people could still be seen moving about, while some that still had things for sale were still opened trying to sweet talk customers to buy their goods.

Tobi looked around before perceiving a stall that sells, cabbages and other local veggies items.

He smiled before running towards the exit of the shop he had perceived those veggies earlier, the shop seemed like it didn't have a lot of customers at the moment.

There were rows of various types of vegetables and fruits, arranged on top of the wooden cabinets, but they didn't seem to be that fresh most especially like the one he had in the bag.

Tobi could see the type of vegetables the shop had weren't fresh, some even appeared to have been pest infested.

After confirming the reason, the shop had little sales, he wasted no time in alarming the shop owner.

"What do you want to buy, little lad?" The Owner said with a smile on his face, he was a man in his middle-aged, 1,7 meters tall. His tanned skin was a bit creased from maturity, while his hair was tied in a rough pony.

He would have been considered to be very nice, at least from his polite attitude and tone, but his use of only one arm spelled he had lost an arm, coupled with his sharp eyes and his over-politeness, made him appear more creepy to him.

He wore a normal farmer outfit of plain shirt and jumped up long black pants, and black pair of sandals.

"Excuse, me sir. If you don't mind I would like to sell my vegetables."

"I see." He said with a nod, as he proceeded to look at the bag by his side.

There was a reason Tobi had never taken all the stalk of vegetables he had found at the forest, it was because he knew he could earn more from selling at the market square rather than to that cheapskate he called aunty.

The sudden level up of morph had been what had pushed his plans forward into motion.

Being a city boy, he knew nothing about selling vegetables or even what a market looks like. He needed a stimulator and the cheapskate had been perfect for it, that was why he was willing to shoot himself in the foot to learn.

[1:20]

Even though Tobi was smiling, his innards were tied in a knot, which was making his heart pace increase, this was from nervousness and the continuous countdown of morph.

"Sir, don't you like them?" Tobi said, still staring at the man's expression, with his guard up against anything sus.

[1:19]

"No, child you got me all wrong. I guess your parents probably sent you to sell them right, so should I wait for their arrival or you will do the bidding?" He was still smiling, but this time the smile he had was a bit wider.

"How much are you willing, to sell them. Don't worry I won't cheat you, besides they are quite fresh and business has been out for the entire day."

"Three gold coins," Tobi said with a pretentious, putting on a brave act and struggling to move the heavy sack of veggies forward.

The man squinted his eyes, before scratching his chin thinking of a deal to not drive his potential customer away. He had never expected, for a child to appear with a bag of veggies when his business was about being ruined.

"If you want me to buy them, first you must sell them for two gold coins."

'I guess you can't really judge people by their appearance.' Tobi thought as he stared at the man.

"Thanks, sir, I will take it."

"Good." He replied, with a smile.

[00:30]

Turned around, after getting his two gold coins, seeing the countdown decrease before his eyes, made him sweat bullets in his pants.

At first, the owner of the shop wanted to guide him back to his acclaimed parents waiting for him at a tavern, but Tobi had politely refused his help.

Before the man could insist on sending the child to his parents, he realized he couldn't find the young boy, after searching a little he was sure the child had probably left already when he wasn't paying attention.

After running as fast as his legs could move, he only needed a thought to realize what notification the system had just sent.

[Morph' has been deactivated]

Even though Morph has deactivated, Tobi felt an unknown rush of excitement, as he finally arrived at the front of his house.

For someone who had just risked his a*s to earn some money, he felt a sense of delight maybe it was excitement from finally getting to use one of his abilities or because he had really hit it rich.

However, he felt a bit nervous.

The moment his hands pushed the door opened, he was met with a crowd of worried parents and siblings.

He could've sworn he saw his father crying, not because his sister was ill but because of himself.

He felt a surge of emotions course through his heart, he felt a sense of guilt as he looked at his parent and sibling, though he knew they loved him but seeing them like this for his sake, he finally got to appreciate them like a part of him.

'Is this what having a loving family feels like?'
