Seventy-one hours and forty-eight minutes have passed since the three soul reapers started fighting the Asuachis. Renji had an easy time fighting off the Asuachi but his allies did not. They currently lie on the ground, bloodied.

"You did your best and you are really good. Good job, Renji. You pass, but your friends have failed," said Oetsu.

"I'm not done yet," said Kuroi.

"I'm not gonna wait for you. It's over, kid. You have failed," said Oetsu.

"I can still do this. If I'm not dead this isn't over," said Kuroi.

"Time isn't up, but my feelings are. It's not a matter of whether you can do it or not. The Asuachi didn't choose you. That's all. It can't be helped. It's over," said Oetsu.

"Wait!" exclaimed Kuroi.

"You're a pain to watch. You were dumped, so whining. Renji has proved that he is a shinigami and you are not. Mera, take him out," said Oetsu.

Oetsu turns around and walks away as his servant jumps into the void to grab the two faux soul reapers. As Mera gets closer to the two faux soul reapers, Kuroi easily flash steps past her and jumps to the entrance of the hut. He runs up to the Zanpakuto creator.

"I can't leave. There is a war going on and I need my Zanpakuto," said Kuroi.

"Kurayami Nokiribi will not be fixed. I refuse to fix it. I will not make swords for fake soul reapers," said Oetsu.

"You bastard! I don't care if you want to or not! I'm our best shot at defeating Yhwach, so you're going to fix it and I don't care if you like it or not!" exclaimed Kuroi.

"Make me then," said Oetsu.

"I will, you bastard!" exclaimed Kuroi.

Kuroi charges at the Zanpakuto creator, but he turns around and points both of his pointer fingers at the young soul reaper. As he does this, Kuroi is teleported away.

"Master, you sent him back to the Soul Society?" asked Mera.

"No. I sent him home. He needs to learn who he is if he wants to earn his Zanpakuto back," said Oetsu.

Back in the World of the Living, Kuroi opens his eyes and sees that he is in front of his house. The rain falls on his head as he decides if he wants to enter the two-story house or not. Before he can decide, someone taps him on his shoulder.

"So, are you going in there or not?" asked Aoi.

"Dad, why are you here?" asked Kuroi.

"I just wanted to see my house once again before we fight the Quincies again. Why are you here?" said Aoi.

"The Asuachis didn't choose me and that Oetsu guy won't repair Kurayami," said Kuroi.

"We need to talk. I think I believe why you can't get your Zanpakuto repaired. Follow me inside," said Aoi.

The father and son enter the house and walk into the living room. They both take a seat and don't talk for a minute as they just stare at each other.

"I haven't been very truthful with you, son," said Aoi.

"No shit," said Kuroi.

"I know that and I'm sorry. After Yama's death, something in me changed. I don't know what it is, but I'm tired of keeping secrets from you. I am ready to tell you everything that you want to hear," said Aoi.

"Aizen knows what my mother truly was. What was she?" said Kuroi.

"Your mother was beautiful and strong. I don't think that I could have made a better choice," said Aoi.

"Cut the crap. What race was she?" said Kuroi.

"She was a human," said Aoi.

"She may have been a human, but she wasn't a regular one. I just know it. If she was a regular one, an Asuachi would have chosen me," said Kuroi.

"She wasn't a regular human, my son. She was a Quincy," said Aoi.

"So, that's what Aizen meant by I was the perfect hybrid. I'm a human, Quincy, Fullbringer, Shinigami, and Visored," said Kuroi.

"Crazy right?" asked Aoi.

"Not really. I should have seen it coming," said Kuroi.

"Do you want to know anything else?" asked Aoi.

"How did you guys meet? It must have been something special for a first encounter," said Kuroi.

"I guess I should start at the beginning. It was a normal day in the Soul Society. Yama ordered me to come to his office and he gave my squad a mission. There was a large number of Hollows appearing in the World of the Living, so we were tasked to deal with them. We went to the World of the Living and started our mission. Before we could kill any Hollows, many of the Hollows were being destroyed very quickly. I tasked my entire squad to search the town for whoever is killing all of these Hollows. They found no one, but I found someone. I found a girl named Yumi Ishida, your mother," said Aoi.

"My mom was an Ishida? So, Uryu is my cousin and Doctor Ishida is my uncle?" asked Kuroi.

"Even though you are related to the Ishidas, they don't want you. Their family has always been pure-blooded Quincy. I am a soul reaper. When I married your mother, she was no longer an Ishida. She was no longer accepted as a Quincy," said Aoi.

"That's tough. Her own family disowned her," said Kuroi.

"Yeah, it was pretty sad," said Aoi.

"How strong was she?" asked Kuroi.

"She was pretty strong. She wasn't as strong as me or you, but she was pretty tough," said Aoi.

"What happened next?" asked Kuroi.

"I was annoyed that she was doing my job, but she was cute, so I wasn't mad because she was pretty cute. We exchanged pleasantries and went on our way. As I was walking through the town, I ran into Isshin. I was then informed that his squad was also sent on this mission. We decided to work together to defeat the rest of the Hollows until we ran into one very weird-looking Hollow. This Hollow wasn't like any Hollow that we had ever faced. It was very powerful. Even though it was very strong, Isshin and I dealt with him until two unexpected visitors showed up. Your mother and your aunt Masaki," said Aoi.

"Let me guess. They helped you defeat the Hollow. You kept in contact with her. You guys fell in love, got married, and had me," said Kuroi.

"Pretty much," said Aoi.

"That was less special than I thought it would be," said Kuroi.

"It was special to me," said Aoi.

"Anything is special to an old man like you," said Kuroi.

"Shut up," said Aoi.

"So, who killed her? If she was as strong as you say, a regular human sickness like cancer should not have been strong enough to kill her," said Kuroi.

"Yhwach," said Aoi.

Kuroi's bored expression becomes a shocked one. His eyes widen and he starts to breathe less.

"So, that Quincy bastard killed her. Why?" said Kuroi.

"The ability that he used was called Auschwalen. Yhwach selected Quincies and stole their powers, so he could replenish his. In old Quincy Folklore, it was stated that the sealed Quincy King's heart would start beating after 900 years, he would regain his intellect after 90, and he would regain his power after 9 years. Cancer wasn't strong enough to kill your mother, but it made her weak enough to get her powers stolen and she died from it," said Aoi.

"How could he do something so evil to his people? What did they do to deserve that?" asked Kuroi.

"They didn't deserve it, but Yhwach is pure evil. He doesn't care about his people or his loyal subjects. He just uses them to finish what he needs to finish. That's why the soul reapers fought against him in the first two Blood Wars," said Aoi.

"How does he have the power to steal all of the Quincies abilities?" asked Kuroi.

"His blood runs in the bodies of all Quincies. He was the first one after all," said Aoi.

"So, that's why he called me his son of darkness. He is my father, but he isn't my dad," said Kuroi.

Kuroi stands up and starts to walk away.

"I will be going, dad. I have to go reforge my Zanpakuto," said Kuroi.

Kuroi walks out of the living room and exits the house. Before he can start to walk down the street, Mera appears above him and grabs him. He is then transported back to the Soul King's Palace.

He looks up and sees that he is once again in Houoden.

"So, are you ready to reforge your Zanpakuto?" asked Oetsu.

"You don't even have to ask," said Kuroi.

Kuroi flexes his spiritual pressure and the Asauchis around him immediately bow down. Kuroi turns around and extends his hand to one of the Asauchi. The Asauchi grabs Kuroi's hand and it morphs into Kurayami Nokiribi.

"It's you, Kurayami Nokiribi," said Kuroi.

"Nice. I'll reforge your Zanpakuto personally," said Oetsu.

Five minutes pass. Kuroi, Oetsu, and his Asauchi slide through a pipe and are launched into a large lake.

"Owwww!" exclaimed Kuroi.

"I told you not to slide into the pipe headfirst, but you did anyway," said Oetsu.

"You kicked me in the head, you loon!" exclaimed Kuroi.

"Look around us, Kuroi. Look at your surroundings," said Oetsu.

Kuroi spins around and sees that the water that once formed a lake was surrounding them.

"We need all of this water to restore your Bankai. Prepare yourself. This is where you will say goodbye to your Zanapkuto, Kurayami Nokiribi," said Oetsu.

"Why is that?" asked Kuroi.

"Your Zanpakuto will never be the same after this. I don't know what will happen. Your Zanpakuto will tell you everything," said Oetsu.

"When will that happen?" asked Kuroi.

"Now," said Kurayami.

Kuroi looks around and sees that he is now in his inner world. His Zanpakuto Spirit now wears a black flame dress instead of barely anything at all.

"Oetsu said that you were never going to be the same after you were reforged. What does that mean?" said Kuroi.

"So, you finally found out that you were a Quincy, huh? I didn't think that day would ever come," said Kurayami.

"What do you mean?" asked Kuroi.

"I've been suppressing your Quincy powers for a very long time," said Kurayami.

"Why?" asked Kuroi.

"I never wanted you to become a Quincy. Yhwach and his army of Quincies are evil and destructive. I was making sure a kind little boy like yourself would never walk down a dark path like that," said Kurayami.

"Not all Quincies are bad. My mother was a good one," said Kuroi.

"I know, but she was an adult. You were a child. If Yhwach got to you, he could easily manipulate and change you. I couldn't let that happen," said Kurayami.

"I understand, but I have grown up. There's no need to shield me from the world. I will defeat the Quincies and save everyone. We can do it together," said Kuroi.

"That's not possible," said Kurayami.

"How is it not possible?" asked Kuroi.

"I've suppressed your inner Hollow to prevent it from taking over your body. I've been suppressing your Quincy powers, so you could never become an evil person. If you want to reforge me, you will have to accept all of your heritage and combine all of your powers into one Zanpakuto. I will be a completely different person after that," said Kurayami.

"No, you won't. My new Zanpakuto may be a fusion of my heritage, but I will never forget you. We've been together for nine years. We've been together for so long that you're like a big sister to me. I don't care if your appearance or your abilities change. You will always be a member of my family," said Kuroi.

"If you believe that, then you are ready," said Kurayami.

"Ready for what?" asked Kuroi.

"Ready for this," said Kurayami.

Kurayami fades away and a large sword stands in her place.

"Touch me and use me to win this war. Reforge me and I will return stronger than I ever was. Do it, Kuroi," said Kurayami.

Kurayami approaches the sword and grabs it. It blows up in his face and he wakes up in Soul King's Palace.

"So, your Zanpakuto is ready to be reforged?" asked Oetsu.

"Yes," said Kuroi.

"Then, get to forging," said Oetsu.

Kuroi looks down and sees a giant hammer in his hand. He holds the hammer over his head and slams it on the pot, creating a huge shockwave that nearly blows him away. He slams the hammer on the pot multiple times until two blades float in the pot. He grabs the two blades, one pitch-black Broadsword, and a black and white Dadao blade.

"Kurayami has split into two blades. Nice," said Kuroi.

"Your Zanpakuto is the first one to have two blades in its Shikai state. What will you do now?" said Oetsu.

"I don't know when Yhwach will attack again, but if they do, we will be ready to send the Quincy back into extinction," said Kuroi.

Extra clue: personality. Not many know that personality is actually genetic and influenced. Kuroi acts similar to Uryu and Ryuken. Hell, he and Uryu have similar relationships with their fathers. They're so similar that they could be family?
