Impeached

"Clarke, how many of the hundred were captured by the mountain men?" I ask her, looking up from the security monitors.

Echo and Samuel had just finished securing the medical and many of the released warriors were currently finding ways to arm themselves. Some could be seen walking around with firearms, while others could be seen holding various blades or blunt weapons.

Near the elevator and staircase entrances were stationed guards equipped with firearms and gas masks. Normally anyone that belongs to a clan would never think of picking up a firearm for fear of the mountain's retaliation. However, with recent developments and for the first time in several generations, they finally have a chance to end the constant fear; that is the mountain.

Clark looks surprised at my inquiry, almost as if she wasn't expecting me to remember that she was there. After I shot Wallace through the knee, I uncuffed her and gave her the job of keeping him from bleeding out while I planned my next move.

"After the grounder's attack on us, there are only thirty-six of us left…" She says sadly from her position at Wallace's side, her voice trailing off at the end as she is reminded of all of her friends who fell in the battle.

I just nod in response. While I understand what it is like having lost friends and people I had grown close to, it was war. No matter who you are fighting against and no matter the cause, everyone that is fighting, is fighting for something… Whether they are fighting for their beliefs, their traditions, or their family, everyone is fighting for a reason. While I see the hundred as invaders and people who spit on our traditions, they see us as people wanting to kill them. They are fighting for their survival and their new home. Neither side is more righteous than the other, and all that matters is victory. After all, the victor is the one who decides how history is written.

"And how are you feeling old-timer?" I ask the president mockingly, observing him from my seated position on one of the chairs present in the room. Hearing my question, he sends me a glare that was absolutely filled to the brim with hate. Just as he looks like he is about to respond with words filled with vitriol, a radio sitting innocently on the desk near me comes to life and a voice cuts through the air like a knife.

"Roy! The savages have taken control of the medical floor! Why have you not sounded the alarm!? Lorelei isn't responding and neither is my father, what the hell is going on!?" A man's distressed voice erupts from the radio. Hearing the voice, everyone's reactions were different. I raised a brow in intrigue at hearing the word father, Clarke's face shown with surprise, Dante's was filled with rage and grief, and both of the security guards that were in charge of the command center showed panic.

"So… which one of you is Roy?" I ask lightly, picking up the radio. After a moment of hesitation, the smaller of the two guards shakily raises his hand.

"Shame on you Roy…" The man just hangs his head in shame at my words.

Shaking my head in amusement, I turn my attention to the radio in my hand. "Excuse me, is this Cage Wallace? The son of Dante Wallace?"

There was a small moment of silence on the other side of the radio before it came to life once more. "Who am I speaking to? Identify yourself at once!" Cage inquires angrily, a tinge of distress in his voice, nearly unnoticeable to all but myself.

"Who I am isn't exactly important, Cage. However, what is important, is what has been done to my people…. and what will be done to yours." I let my words settle in silence, hearing the shaky breathing coming from Cage and the small gasp that escapes Clarke at my words.

Sweeping my gaze over the small group on the other side of the room, I still haven't completely decided on what to do with Clarke and her considerably smaller group of people.

While they have been nothing but a nuisance to my people, they didn't exactly have a choice in the matter of being sent to the ground. While we can forgive them for invading our land, there is still the matter of what amounts to war crimes against my people. Then again; I could offer them a chance to assimilate into Trikru, but that same offer could not be given to their leaders, Clarke and Bellamy. My people will want blood, and only theirs will suffice.

Hearing Cage's voice come through the radio, I am pulled back to the situation at hand. "You cannot escape from here alive, there is no point in resisting the inevitable. Release my father and Doctor Tsing. We need your people's blood to survive, you and a few individuals selected by yourself will be free to go. All you have to do is give up this futile resistance." He says calmly, trying to salvage whatever he can from the situation.

"Mr. President, I don't think your son understands what type of situation your people are in right now." I say lightly, looking towards the pale old man sitting on the floor.

"My son will kill you. Even if I die here today, my son will end your rebellion and will lead our people to greatness. We will walk outside once more!" He says passionately, having faith in his people like a decent leader should.

"We'll see… Cage, did you get all that?" I ask into the radio, showing everyone that I was allowing Cage to hear what his father had to say.

"Yes, I got it!" He roars across the comms.

I only shake my head in response. "Allowing your rage to take over in the middle of a negotiation; what an amateur."

Swiftly directing the handgun at the president's head and before anyone has any time to process what is happening, I pull the trigger.

Bang!

The silence that followed the shot was comparable to the calm before the storm. No one expected me to kill the president like that, they thought I was going to use the president as leverage or something similar; Cage was especially shaken by my actions.

"Who did you shoot!? Tell me who you shot! I will kill you!"

The two formerly panicked and scared guards looked vicious and were ready to charge me at any second, while Clarke seemed to still be in a state of shock that her patient that she was taking care of, just caught a bullet to the head right in front of her.

"Roy, other guy, don't make me shoot you both as well." I direct towards the two guards before continuing my conversation with Cage. "Now you listen to me, Cage, you are in no position to threaten me. My people control your people's medication, most of the doctors you have, have been killed, your head doctor is bound and under constant security, you are not in control of your command center, and on top of all that, your president has just been killed. There is absolutely nothing you can do to me… and the things I am able to do to you from this very room are oh so very numerous." I slowly and calmly, making sure to push the idea of helplessness into his brain with every word. After I finish talking, I smash the radio onto the floor, shattering it instantly.

Not everything I said was the truth though, Doctor Tsing is in fact not bound and under constant security; because she is dead. Yes, the fact that my people have guns and gas masks makes trying to retake the medical floor a suicide mission, but having Doctor Tsing as a hostage is another deterrent that is nice to have.

"Clarke, I have a mission for you."

"What is it you need from me?" She asks suspiciously, not trusting of me at all. Rolling my eyes at her behavior, I try to reassure her that at the moment I mean her no harm.

"Relax, it's nothing nefarious towards you or your people. Your people are very technically adept, I am wondering, is there anyone in your small group that was captured that is familiar with all of this?" I ask, motioning towards all of the surrounding screens and technology.

She seems to be struggling with herself on whether or not she should divulge that information to me, which is a tell-tale sign that there is, in fact, someone similar to who I was inquiring about.

After a small moment of hesitation, Clarke decides to risk it and confirms my suspicions. "Yes, his name is Monty. Monty is the smartest guy I know."

"Excellent! I need you to fetch him for me; if you want to leave this bunker that is." I dangle the bait in front of her with my words. While it is very unlikely that she is going to be allowed to live through the war, I am wanting to see if there are any people I can poach from her small group of teenagers that can be beneficial to Trikru.

Clarke, hearing my words, starts to believe that I will let her go after all of this is over. I already took off her handcuffs so she would be able to heal Wallace, that is already a small amount of good faith that I had given her.

She nods her head at my words, that spark of hope and determination that was recently extinguished has now returned and is shining brighter than before. "Of course, I will come back with him and then we can end these monsters once and for all." She says with disgust towards the mountain men.

Before I can give her any more details, she is running off towards the elevator. The elevator is the only entrance to this floor, making this floor very easy to defend against outside forces. If Cage and his men decide to encroach upon my position, I would be very easily able to do so. If the person that Clarke brings back is as good as I hope he is, we would be able to shut off the elevator and any other parts of the bunker directly from this room; making it impenetrable.

After Clarke runs out of view, I am only stuck with Roy and the other guy for company. While I admit that I've somewhat developed a little bit of attachment for Roy, kind of seeing him as an ugly pet, I also know that he is the enemy and he wouldn't be able to survive the mountain's fall.

My gaze locks onto the only two other people in the room with me. Seeing my look of slight regret, their faces crumple under the intense wave of despair that they suddenly feel. They were going to die, and they knew it.

"I'm sorry Roy…" I say with mild regret, raising the handgun towards eye level. "You will be missed... "

Bang!
