"The shrouded?" I asked, a bit confused by Laili's words.
"Yes. That is what we are known as within the shadows." Laili simply replied.
"Hmm… That sounds a bit evil…" I gave my opinion, which Laili didn't mind at all.
"Exactly." Was what she said to me right after I gave my opinion. It was as if she didn't even care about her syndicate sounding evil… Well, she did say that the syndicate has a characteristic that is between good and evil. So inspiring, aren't they… Like, they are the definition of the darkness that brightens the light, aren't they?
To embrace the darkness, in order to serve the light…
Like soldiers to a Queen, Involving themselves in a war in order to keep the Queen in place…
The existence of pron, which does everything to keep itself alive in order to let the loners who have nothing, feel wanted…

Oops… That just so happens to have slipped inside my mind. I doubt those last words of mine makes sense actually. Or perhaps, does it have a deeper meaning…

Anyway… After a minute of waiting for me to process the information, Laili teleported me away from the place without my permission. Like, why is she always so forceful and sudden! Is asking that difficult for her to do?! Let's not talk about her asking too! Because if she's asking, she's so persistent about the same question even after it's answered! She's simply a psycho!
'Now… Where have I been teleported to. Last I can remember is that both Laili and Leslie didn't come along with me. Great… I guess I'm alone now… Not even a ceremony or something after joining her syndicate. At least in the sect, I get a cute little cabin and some places to visit! Maybe I should just leave this place… Oh, right. That's the purpose of the shrouded ones, isn't it?'
Well, anyway, after my thoughts that consisted out of a lot complaints, I decided to check my surroundings to see where Laili had brought me to. Looking in front of me, I could see that there was a flat wall a few inches away from me.
'Haha… So funny Laili…' She really had to teleport me right behind a wall. The position that I was in sure did remind me of my middle school years though.

The teacher always made me face a wall whenever I was disturbing the girls in class. And by disturbing I mean talking to them for too long. The classes were quite boring, okay… And it was always the girls who were so damn playful with me and my corn looking pencil sharpener. Obviously, I had to reply to them! After all, I would be a damn scum if I didn't.
You see… My dad had always told me in the past to be nice to kittens and girls. But apparently, my whatever grade teacher just had to be nice to girls alone. What a misandrist honestly. She would always blame me…
Well, she wasn't really wrong, since I was quite the chick magnet when I was still a child. But it's the girls that spoke to me! What was I possibly able to do? Decrease my charm?!
Those were quite the good days honestly, but then puberty and highschool had to hit me. F*cking acnes and my chubby arched back ass after I had discovered those PC games from the year two thousand and ten. It was common for gamers to be looking horrible at that era, so yeah, you should understand my appearances. Luckily, I finished school, and was able to improve myself into someone better. Thanks to the new era of gymnastic gamers too, which motivated me even more, I became charming again after my puberty… Haha! I guess me having quite the charm is truly inevitable huh…
Oh, how life became better for me after I left puberty. I'm talking about the life where everything was still normal of course. That's right. Even without the first appearance of the system, my life was actually doing quite well. Although I didn't have the best job, or the best life, I was still happy. I had good looks that would give me a few one night stands, great luck with random generator devices, and I could do quite a bunch of things that I loved. Gaming obviously, which is something that I never got tired of since the day I was first introduced to it.
Of course, I was still the average upon the average, however, I was happy.
After the appearance of that jade necklace though… Hehehe…
My life was at its peak! Hahahah! Everything was amazing, except for the fact that I knew that great things would never remain stable however.
The reason? Simple! That is just the ways of life, and my high IQ knew of that. The universe strives on balance you see, so, just like the stats of economy, or the ways of evolution, things that are too much will be decreased in order for there to be balance! Clever, ain't I?
Well, in the end, because of my cleverness, I was indeed not wrong, and that awful foresight that I had expected, did happen.
But guess where that brought me? Ha! To this wonderful world where my necklace actually became a system! A world full of excitement and adventure! Both in one place and in many places!
Cough Cough, I wonder if you know what I mean with one place? Are you smart enough to know? Hmmm….

I still can't believe how the supposed downhill of my good life actually made my life better. Well, not really better, since this life of mine now is completely filled with danger… Nonetheless, the thing is, that the danger is actually the best part! The excitement you know! Like… Right now, I can finally experience the things that I was only able to experience in videogames and fiction!
*Sigh* I let out a sigh after my proud thoughts. Indeed, I was proud of my life. A life that not many can have the opportunity to experience…
