Chapter 85: A bad day

In the afternoon, she decided to go to the library, and when she entered, she smelled the soft scent of flowers.

"Madame Pince, again using scents to make the library smell different?" he asked normally.

"It's lavender, child with no rational taste. As usual, you continue to be a pain in the ass, even when you barely come in, you come with complaints."

"That's why I went to the trouble of bringing some scents you don't see on this side of the world," William pulled a package out of his robes and handed it to Madame Pince.

Madame Pince opened the package and found several candles of different colors as well as incense.

"You surprise me William, I never thought you would remember this old lady while you were having fun in Brazil," she took the candles in her hand and felt their scents, "exquisite, their aromas are incredible.

"I thought you would love them."

"Thank you, William," Madame Pince smiled with pleasure.

"My pleasure, but now I'd like to read something more advanced, it's time to start learning some things that will help me in case of trouble".

"Is it because of the Fenrir Greyback thing?" asked Madame Pince looking at the boy in front of her, they had been together for a year, "When I saw the news in the Prophet's paper I was very shocked and worried, I couldn't believe how it was possible for you to fight Fenrir Greyback, you were unconscious, completely irresponsible. Not many adult wizards can come out of a fight with Greyback alive, let alone children, it's a relief that they didn't get bitten".

"True, I wasn't bitten, but I did get a wound," William lifted his clothes and showed his stomach where the claw wound was, "but you should have seen Fenrir, he lost half his body in the fight."

"He deserved it, he hurt a lot of people during the wars, now that he's captured he won't be able to hurt anyone again."

"Still, someone might try to take revenge, and I want to be prepared for whatever happens," William worried about the future, but Greyback also had some followers in the world.

"You're a Rosier, I doubt anyone would try to take revenge, your last name alone is enough to intimidate half the magical world. You're part of the sacred 28."

"I'm still looking for something to protect myself."

"Well, you are free to search wherever you like, except of course in the restricted area" No one could enter there without permission from a teacher or the Headmaster himself, but William had nothing to search there at the moment.

Following Madame Pince's words, William walked into the library, approached the shelves he had seen so much of a year ago, and began to search through the titles.

"The Sound Enchantment and the Orb Charm, these are the best choices for now. The Orb Enchantment should be used in conjunction with the Levitation Enchantment, considering my ability, it would be possible to bury even a giant alive. On the other hand, with the sound enchantment, the wand will make a loud roar, if I could increase my enhancement rate to the maximum, it would be possible to scare away any beast that would endanger my life."

He took both books and a few others that contained a bit of history or things related to the two spells he had chosen for his repertoire.

As he studied, time passed around him, it is amazing how the passage of time ceases to be important when a person is focused, this was the case for William, it usually happened.

Then, out of nowhere, he felt a hand land on his shoulder, pulling him out of his level of total concentration.

"It's time for you to go back to the common room," Madame Pince stared at him, "it's late already and I don't want there to be any problems like a year ago, besides, if some prefect sees you on the way when you're out of time, you could lose points and I don't think you want to lose points, do you?"

"Haaaa...." William let out a long sigh, she was right, he wanted to disagree, but it was useless "You're right, I've already lost a lot of points for my house, and if Lockhart finds me, he'll probably ask for my transfer to Azkaban."

"Lockhart?" asked Madame Pince with a disgusted expression, "All his stories are lies, nothing but nonsense, fairy tales, even Muggle fantasy books are better than that guy's, you should stay away from him, though with the Potter boy hanging around the castle he must think he has a rival".

"Considering Lockhart's personality, he's probably trying to make Harry Potter his sidekick to get more fame."

They both laughed and chatted for a moment, then William left the library and walked down the corridors. The Prefects should be heading back to their dormitories by now, after all they are people too and should be enjoying their student life, because of the deal he doesn't have to worry about Filch and as for Peeves, well that ghost must be starting to fear William.

With no worries, he continued on his way to the common room, rubbing his stomach, "Now that I think about it, I didn't go to eat, I'll have to eat some of the rations that are in the crate while I'm feeding the creatures.

"Why is the whole floor full of water, where is Filch when you need him?" complained William as he walked down the corridor, only to meet three people in the corner of the corridor.

"William," Hermione called worriedly, his two friends Ron and Harry standing next to him. The three boys looked desperate, just from their expressions and the surroundings, William knew what was going on.

"Oh no..." he groaned, lifting his head slightly to see what was written on the wall, "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened, enemies of the Heir fear."

Harry looked at William, then they turned their attention to Filch's cat hanging on the wall, "We'll be in trouble if anyone sees us here, I've got enough on my hands with the Morphing Wizard, I don't want to be pals with the Slytherin heir too."

"I'm nobody's heir."

"It's obvious, Slytherin wouldn't have such an idiot heir," William scoffed and turned to leave, then students started coming in from all sides "Shit"
