Although she just woke up and was finding it hard to understand what was going on, Lucy could still make out that he wasn't lying at all. A single look at the people who had saved her and her teammates from all the dangers up until now was enough to tell her that they would die of oxygen deprivation in a minute or so. She managed to see them even in this lightless night because the bright rings that were restraining their bodies also illuminated them and their surroundings. She wanted to save them; that was not only her conviction but also the way she chose to repay them.
"Please don't kill them?!" Lucy shouted and leaped up to him, grabbing one of his arms in a vicious grip. Elliot, however, didn't even feel a single trace of pain. Her soft hands didn't have enough strength to even squeeze his muscles, after all. Her bright eyes met his abyssal gaze. She flinched but didn't look away, her actions causing a subtle change in the way Elliot looked at her.
