Little White Rabbit?

A few minutes passed, and they finally got to the woods. Jophiel was exhausted. His stamina had been deducted, so it took all he had not to fall off the horse. The woods were not as densely packed as the forest he first appeared in. Unlike the forest, the greenery in the woods was well-spaced, and it felt serene.

Marcus informed him that there were two clearings. One on the outskirts of the woods where they were and one in the middle of the woods.Marcus suggested that they ride to the clearing in the middle of the forest so Jophiel could train there. Jophiel thought about it then refused. He instead called out his system and asked for the daily quest.

Riding through town seemed to have fulfilled the quest's requirement for exploring the town.

'That was one down and three to go.'

After he was done viewing the system's interface, Jophiel turned to Marcus

"Let's run there."

*Jophiel's Pov*

Marcus nodded in agreement and hopped off the horse. He picked up two bags that had been strapped to his horse. He then turned to me, waiting for me to make my move.

I obviously couldn't jump down like him without killing myself, so I hopped down to the stirrup, which was 6 feet off the ground and jumped down but landed on my hands and rolled. Jumping from such a height was extremely difficult after not having done it for a long time. I was skilled at such jumps. After all, who hadn't jumped over the fence of their house or school at least once?

Once I reached the ground, Marcus handed me my backpack. Then like that, we took off running.

It was a sight to see. The trees were the most beautiful shade of green. They looked too luscious to be real. The sun was bright, so little rays shone through the gaps in the leaves. The air was extremely fresh and green. I wanted to stay in those woods forever. That was until my lungs started burning. This body I now occupied was extremely unfit. However, I kept running. If I ever want to begin cultivating or stand strong in the household, I have to overcome this body's restraints.

After a while, I reached runner's high. As a result, I couldn't feel the pain anymore and running felt wonderful again. Every once in a while, Marcus, who had been keeping pace with me, would look over to make sure I was okay. He was a good companion. I'd rather use the term companion than maidservant.

As my legs were about to give out, we finally reached the clearing.

After hearing the incessant beeps, I dropped to the ground and sat on the grassy plains. After which, I leant against a tree. I panted hard and was completely out of energy. Marcus, on the other hand, was just fine.

He took my backpack from me and took out a bottle of water. I drank just a little because I knew I had more exercise to do.

*End of Pov*

After catching his breath, Jophiel decided to finish the task of lifting 50 kg. He turned to Marcus, who was staring into distant mountains and called out.

"Marcus?" At the sound of his voice, Marcus reacted and turned to face him.

"Could you please get me a heavy stone. It should be just big enough for me to carry."

Marcus nodded and went off into the woods. He didn't say anything, and this bothered Jophiel. He had talked less ever since their fight.

After a short while, Marcus returned with a stone. It weighed about 10 kg, so Jophiel gave it a shot. He picked it up, and it felt heavier than 10kg. He knew that it was just because the body was weak. After picking up the stone, he lifted it up above his head and then dropped it. He repeated this about five times. However, he didn't hear a ding. So he continued five more times but still didn't hear a 'ding'.

This situation confused him. Judging from the weight of the stone, he believed that he should have heard a 'ding' by now.

After thinking it through, he realised that he had dropped the stone on the ground after each lift. Did the system want him to lift it consecutively?

He decided to test out his theory. He went over to the stone and picked it up again. Like before, he raised it over his head, but this time he did not drop it to the ground. He put his hand down to his waist before lifting it above his head. At this point, his hands began to shake. At the third lift, the trembling increased, and he felt like he was about to drop the rock. However, he pushed himself to do the fourth lift. By this time, his biceps were burning. They were sore and hurt too much. By the time he dropped the fourth lift, his hands were numb. He felt like he couldn't lift it even if he tried.

By this time, Marcus, who had been watching all this while, finally moved to Jophiel. He positioned himself behind him and somewhat massaged a few points along both his arms. Whatever Marcus did, allowed Jophiel to regain feeling in his arms. He then took the opportunity to push through the final lift. Once it went above his head, Jophiel dropped it as his hands couldn't support its weight anymore. Marcus, who had been on standby, used one hand to catch it with ease. He then casually tossed it far into the bush. Once again, Jophiel rested on a tree. This time he heard the alert.

He had now completed the tasks. It was time to claim the rewards and return.

However, before leaving, he had to take care of an important issue.

"Marcus, when you went, I saw a little white rabbit..."
