Chapter 8

Blaze got back to his human form; he had stopped running leaving the mansion behind him. To sit at the riverbank near his house, the moon was shining. He took a deep breath while closing his eyes. The moon looked like Melissa's gaze was staring directly at him between the bushes, he could see its brightness bathing him, just like he could see Melissa standing at the window staring back at him.

He knew that someday he will find her, and she had opened a path for him. His body started to tremble with the only though of her gaze looking on the distance towards him. He started to sweat in desire, remembering Melissa's grey eyes glistening under the moon light.  Her long black hair caressing her shoulders, her pale skin almost white a snow, he wanted to kiss it. He wanted to mark her, to stain her white skin with his entire body, paint it like a blank canvas.

Melissa belonged to him, he wanted to feel her now. To press her lips against hers, to feel her warm breath close to him. His animal instincts were playing with his body, all of that combined to the altercation with the werewolves made him feel like he was about to explode. To release the desire and the fluster inside him, he closed his eyes and began his handwork.

When he relieved but it wasn't enough. That will have to do for now, he had to shift his mindset and think about how to get rid of Valdevious and at the same time he needed to get closer to Melissa, how can he do this without frighten her? He needed to find a way to get see her before her birthday. He needed to be there to defend her, to protect her, to love her.  Melissa's birthday was a decisive phase in his life, and he needed to show himself to her in his raw form.

He was scared as he didn't know if maybe she will reject him and decide to love the vampire instead. The thought that all his efforts will be in vain, that Melissa will be choosing that filthy vampire instead of him made all the hairs on his back rise in rage.

"I didn't ask to be a werewolf", he said with a lamented voice, starting to walk to his house. While walking mindlessly through the same that he had walked so many times before, a path he could remember so well. He remembered his dad, how majestic he was, he loved his dad and his mom. He didn't know he was a werewolf until his senior year.

The small house between the bushes where they lived was the prefect hideout for them. His dad didn't want him to live the savage life of a werewolf, with their bloody traditions and customs. They flew from London to Paris to settle on a small cottage outside of the country.  His days were pleasant until they were found.

One day his dad was working the farm when more than hundred man and women came to him blocking the path between the farm and the house. Valdevious was leading them.  He was his dad's third generation cousin. The scrawny kid that Valdevious was once. Was nowhere to be found in the muscular man standing now in front of him. "I came to challenge you", Valdevious said demanding.

"No, you came to disturb my peace for a simple title", Bladhir said in a somber voice and continue working on the soil "I'm not longer part of the clan, Balthimore is in charge of it."

"Balthimore is dead, the vampires killed him, and I came here to find you. They didn't want to face me because I'm not the leader".  This news didn't surprise Bladhir, he knew that someday his father's time will come.

"I have no interest to be the new leader of the wolfs, you can have the title. It's yours". Bladhir said while plucking a handful of grass from the ground.

"You know it doesn't work like that" said Valdeviuos with a smirk while turning towards the crowd "you see all this people; they need a leader. If you don't want to lead them, then you will have to fight me so I can have my place as a head of the den". Bladhir, didn't wanted to fight, he grew tired of it, they were always fighting among themselves of against the vampires, it was a never-ending cycle. He tried so hard to escape from them, but the werewolf senses were way too strong he knew that this day would come.

"I don't want to fight you, I never liked werewolf costumes, we are not animals".

"We aren't humans either, our werewolves' instincts will always reign above our reason. There's nothing you can do about it".

"I did it, I've lived as a human for a long time now without the need of any transformation. We all can live our lives in peace. That's all I ever wanted. I don't care about the vampires"

"Are you saying that you will not seek revenge on your father's death?" Said Valdevious stupified.

"My father was a savage!" Bladhir pointed in a matter-of-fact tone "he always was looking for a way to preserve his reign, to demonstrate his power and to preserve power, he was a tyrant, just like you. His fate caught up to him. I have no intention to fight you."

"Oh! Isn't that, right? I was afraid you will say that ". At the same moment the multitude opened giving space to two transformed werewolves carrying his wife and a young Blaze between its claws. Bladhir couldn't believe his eyes, the two most precious people in his life. The ones that he dedicated his entire life hiding them from the werewolf's world were caught by them.

Valdevious looked at Bladhir's fierce eyes knew at that same moment that he found the trigger; he finally found the way to dethrone and destroy the alpha werewolf. "So, what were you saying about not letting your animal instincts take over? This is only an incentive to see how true that is".

Bladir's silver hair prickled with hatred all over his body. It has been a long time since he had transformed, and this was the most painful transformation of his life. Even more painful than the first time he transformed into a werewolf. He doubled his size as his bones were cracking, his skin ripping open giving place to the beast inside, the beast that will do anything for his family. His silver hair grew from his forehead elongating to the end of his tail.

The sight of him was a mixture between something beautiful and destructive at the same time. He glanced to Valdevious that was already transformed and waiting for him to attack. Meeting him with much force, they interlock claws grabbing one another. Pushing one against the other as they stood tall. Bladhir growled while overpowering Valdevious as he launched him to one side, making his back slam against a tree, as he charged towards him again. Valdevious saw him and stood rapidly, evading the blow by moving aside to scratch Bladhir's back, making him bleed profusely. The sun was setting, and the battle continue bloody and fierce.

Bladhir charged again, this time jumping high, disappearing for a second in the tall trees, and descending with an extraordinary force into Valdevious' head grabbing him by the skull with so much force that Valdevious and everyone present could hear his skull crack. At that moment he saw Blaze, his child eyes wide in horror, his wife was trying to console him, but they had them so far apart that she had to scream trying to comfort him. He couldn't kill him. All the efforts to live peacefully will vanish if he killed Valdevious now.

Valdevious saw an opening, it was his chance, scratching this time Bladhir's chest aiming for his heart. Bladhir let him go after this attack as he abruptly grabbed him by the neck starting to choke him.

His claws were sinking into the silver wolf's neck as Arena was screaming "don't kill him please. You won Valdevious. Everyone saw it, you have witness, a lot of them. Please let him live. I beg you". Valdevious heard her but didn't flinch and kept pressing Bladhir by his neck until he felt unconscious.

Turning towards the multitude, some of them were in silence, other ones cheering. "Now there's a new leader in the pack".  He said while raising his arms in victory, "let them go" he ordered the werewolves that had Blaze and his mother immobilized.

Arena went running towards Blaze and embraced him, he was still screaming and crying in horror. "Sorry my boy but sadly this is the truth. You are a werewolf just like your father and now you must avenge him". Arena look up to the sky and a bright full moon light was shining bright among them.

Blaze fury was overwhelming, he kept screaming and screaming. His body burning with fever as the pain started filling his heart, which kept pounding harder and stronger every time, he could feel it. The boiling blood running through his body, his muscles began to grow and ache with such intensity that he felt that they couldn't fit into his skin anymore.

Still curled on the floor, his mom covering him with her own body. She knew that he was awakening. Blaze skin began to rip open giving room to the new and furry skin underneath it. His arms and legs grew long and muscular ending in big and furry hands with long silver claws. His eyes turned black with thirst and his face expanded giving place to a long and strong snout with sharp white teeth. His hair turned onto a silver glow lighting up quickly, turning into flames. The flames did burn him, the flames were part of him.

His mom was now laying on the floor his flames didn't burn her either, "you are and Ignite wolf Blaze, avenge your father". She said falling also unconscious as she closed her eyes. Blaze was blind with rage; he went directly to the werewolves that had them prisoners and ripped their throats out of their bodies with his claws.

He got in front of Valdevious and started to scratch his whole body, "I will made you suffer a long and painful death". Grabbing him by his hair, he brought him towards the almost lifeless body of his father and said "look what you did to him. Because that will be the last thing you'll ever see" as he pulled the old wolf's his eyes out their sockets with such force that Valdevious screams were almost deafening. No one dared to confront the Ignite wolf as fear and amusement engulfed everyone witnessing the young Ignite wolf coming to life in front of them.

He was about to finish him off when his dad opened his eyes and whispered to him. "We are better than this son", Blaze started to cry hearing his father's words. "Finishing him will not prove anything". Blaze let Valdevious go with loud thud in the ground, returning to his human form.

"Leave, at once before I kill you and don't you ever dare to come back" There were his final words as he helped his father get up from the ground and grabbed his mom with both arms they disappeared into the forest.

Valdevious tricked his dad into that fight and his father lost to him, after the fight with Valdevious. Bladhir fell ill and died. For Arena, Bladhir sickness, and then his death was too much for her to bear, and she followed. When a werewolf loses its mate it will fall into depression, just as wolves they mate for life.

Blaze had come to age, he could easily dethroned Valdevious, but he swore to follow his father principles. So, he never looked for vengeance. On that alone and desperate time it was when he met Melissa. Who turned out to be his new beacon, his lighthouse his north, his only reason to live.

Her name wasn't Melissa her name was Veronikah, it was her 16th birthday, and she was beautiful, her long blue princess dress was perfectly molded to her body, and he immediately fell in love with her. They promise eternal love to each other, she told him she loved him, but then she disappeared.
