Chapter 22

"Thank you for helping her" Flavio said while looking at Adel's concerned complexion. "I know we both haven't been so much as friends since we know each other but is for the greater good". Flavio said while sitting on the chair porch rocking back and forth. "I thought we were goners; she overpowers us so easy I couldn't believe it".

"How she stopped?" asked Adel his eyes looking exhausted, while leaning on the porch pole.

"I'm not sure, but when we woke up, we were laying on the floor, she was suffering you know. She was screaming and crying. Is a sight that I don't want to see anymore. I don't really know anything about it but if it was for me, I will take all the pain that she is enduring and make it my own. She is like my own child, and you don't want to see your kid suffer. She has suffered so much in all her past lives and on this one as well. I wish we could do something to help her".

Flavio's eyes reflected fear and pain at the same time. Seeing Melissa in this state made his heart ache so much. He felt like it was shattered to pieces.

"Melissa stopped because she came back to her senses. She overcame the beasts inside her. If she finds a way to keep herself from drowning again those beasts; I know soon she will be able to control them". With saying this Adel was convince that she can overcome this state.

"Do you want something to drink?" Flavio asked standing up from chair, walking towards the kitchen. "No thank you I'm OK, Adel said walking towards the backyard. I think I'm going to go".

"Are you leaving without saying goodbye?" Melissa was coming down the stairs with Anastasia behind her.

Adel face lit up when he heard her voice, she was herself again, talking in her normal and decisive voice, that voice that always caresses Adel complete being like silk. Turning around to face Melissa who was now standing behind him.

"How are you feeling?" asked Adel while coming closer to her, he wanted to embrace her he wanted to feel her again in his arms. He has waited for her for so long and tonight she finally had kiss him. A true and sweet kiss, the kiss that he has been longing and craving for all eternity.

"I feel ashamed. I'm so sorry everyone. I have put the tree of you through so much if it wasn't for my stubbornness" ….

"Melissa, I think that your plan was successful. You open the door inside you and learned to control them".

"But I almost killed you all", Melissa said while sobbing uncontrollably. Flavio came close to her, and caressing her hair "but you didn't", he said reassuring.

"Tell us what happened have a seat", Flavio brought a chair close to the one he was sitting on taking a seat again.

"When I was on trance I could see the wolf, and the vampire. They are hungry to govern over my body. They are always fighting each other to kill one another but I told them… I asked them to live inside of me, I told them that we all need each other in order to overcome this".

"And what did they say?" Anastasia asked reluctantly.

"They agreed said Melissa", she remembered what they said at the end. "But they are not content with sharing my body. I know that they are trying to kill one another". Melissa's eyes were absent.

"The one who attacked me wasn't you, Melissa". Adel said while looking at her.

"No, it wasn't. I don't understand but I remember my hybrid form talking to you. Not clearly though, just traces of the conversation and" … she stops her eyes widening… "I bit you! I almost killed you Adel".

"But you saved me", he said remembering the sweet taste of Melissa's blood.

"You bit him?", asked Anastasia. "And then you revive him? Flavio finished looking at Anastasia in dismay, "how is that possible?"

"A hybrid bite is so potent that it can kill vampires in an instant, and the only way to save them is having the victim drink their blood". Anastasia said while looking at Adel with intent eyes, her gaze glaring at him while he was looking directly at Melissa with a please expression.

"It was me who bit him Annie, and it was my decision to save him. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him lying on the floor lifeless. My hybrid form told me the antidote and it was a fast no brainer decision. I'm just tired of people that I love suffering for my actions".

"Love", Adel thought to himself. "Did she said love?" Adel almost couldn't control his happiness, the word meant so much to him. But he kept compose.

"The only thing that matter is that you are alright Melissa", said Anastasia while bringing some strawberry tarts and tea for everyone to eat. They eat them in silence all looking at Melissa lost expression.

"Adel told me that you communicated with Anastasia", Melissa broke the silence.

"Yes", said Anastasia "some vampires can communicate to one another by thoughts. When we woke up, I felt Adel's presence. He told me that you were outside. But I couldn't find you, it was like you blocked me from doing the same to you". Anastasia paused "I was also trying to reach you while you were in trance but I couldn't". Anastasia finished while looking at Melissa with teary eyes.

"So… does that means" … Flavio said confused.

"That means that she didn't want to be found" Anastasia finished.

"I didn't want to be found." said Melissa repeating Anastasia's words still absent from everyone.

"I have to keep trying! it is expected of me to save everyone. I must learn to control everything inside and outside me". Melissa stood up with a determined voice.

"What are you thinking?" said Adel looking at Melissa whose expression changed suddenly.

"I'm thinking that is time for me to stop overthinking everything, it seems like instead of two there's three beings living inside me, the wolf, the vampire, and the hybrid. I'm not sure why the hybrid is not fuse completely with me. I won't lose the fight this time. Same as I will not lose my company".

The three of them looked at Melissa startled. They couldn't make up Melissa's words.

"I won't give up on me, or the ones that had been there for me. Same as I won't give on my parent's company. It seems that I don't need the moonlight to turn. I can turn only using my emotions.

I will need you more than ever now" she said in a loud voice walking towards the garden and standing on a clear path under the night sky. Show yourself Blaze; Melissa commanded".

Blaze came forward slowly walking towards Melissa, Flavio's face turned into a big smile. Anastasia face distorted in disapproval, Adel's eyes glowing red with fury and hatred.

"Now, we must play nice with one another Melissa said in a motherly tone. We must put aside our differences because we are all working towards the same goal".

"Were you there standing there all the time? Anastasia asked. Glaring at him, you have some nerve to show up after what you did to Melissa.

"Annie, I called him. And he is sorry for what he did right Blaze?" Melissa asked him and he nodded. Melissa looked somehow different, but Blaze couldn't put his finger on what made her looked like that.

"I've been trying to get in here since this afternoon, I heard screams and noises but for some reason I couldn't make it on time. When I finally could enter the four of you were standing on the porch talking but I didn't want to get close without Melissa's permission". Blaze saw Melissa's wrist and looking at Adel's eyes, which for some reason seemed pleasured. He clenched his fists, he didn't what to jump into conclusions, but Adel eyes were intent on his and his heart was aching with fear. He didn't want to say anything. He will ask Melissa in private, after asking her for forgiveness.

"Rembrandt has always used me as a pawn in order to get more investors on the company and to load himself with my money but it's time for a change".

"But Melissa you said that you didn't want anything to do with the company". Flavio said looking puzzle, but content.

"Yes, you are right, but the company is my parents' legacy, and I will not let him win anymore. I will not sign anything. I just must find a way to get rid of the stupid conservationship which he imposed on me".

"I can help you with that Adel said, I have a judge friend that can make that happen", thank you Adel I appreciate that.

"Flavio you know a lot about the company, I will have you come with me from now on so you can show me the ropes".

"I will Melissa I'm here for you".

"Does someone know why they had kept so quiet until now", Melissa asked, "I haven't been attacked they must me plotting something".

"It seems that they are all waiting for your birthday to come and attack". Adel said

"What about the werewolf's, they are also awfully quiet", she asked Blaze.

"I haven't seen any movements" Blaze said remembering what Selena had said to him. "I learned that they have been having some internal problems on their own".

"Keep an eye on them" Melissa finished.

"Annie make yourself available for all my birthday preparations. Rembrandt can't suspect anything". We will do Melissa, Anastasia said with a grin on her face.

"Blaze and Adel, I need you both on my birthday you both are my special guests". They both looked at each other with rage and satisfaction, they both though that they were closer each time to Melissa.
