Between two storms

The elevator door open and Melissa didn't have to see the entrance of the building to know that the situation was the same as the entrance in Marco's apartment. Policeman coming and going inside his house, a smell of rotten blood and flesh was the first thing she could notice, and the familiar burnt metal smell. As the owner of the smell came walking towards them,

"Where is she?" Marco asked, as the lieutenant approached them. Her small but imponent figure came as a man was next to her, "where were you last night?" the woman asked as she sign some papers handing the folder back to the man.

"What?" Marco asked, stunned by the question. As he looked at Melissa. "Are you blaming me for Suzzanne's death?" He snapped.
