Chapter 10 Touring The Property

Chapter 10 Touring the Property

'It seems like I need to get a piece of that large crystal pie. I will start with this palace management thingy.' Damien greedily thought as he stood up wanting to immediately start developing the property.

"Let's go outside and inspect the property." He said as he pushed back his chair and guided his round form to start walking outside.

Phoenix too stood up and followed after him.

"We are too full, it will be unsightly to walk like this so we will be staying." Dark said on behalf of Silver whose face reddened.

"Okay." Phoenix simply acknowledged with her back to them while a wide grin spread on her face.

'I can finally be alone with him. Heheheh... Is it going to be our first date?' Phoenix thought to herself as she excitedly broke into a sprint instantly catching up with the wobbling Damien.

"Let me help you." Phoenix offered while walkind side by side with Damien.

A bewildered Damien stared at her with his mouth open and he almost lost his footing. He steadied himself after wobbling for quite a while.

"Are you sick from the food?" He asked as he put his palm on her forehead upon which she blushed furiously.

"Why are you asking?" She asked as she hit his hand away and turned her face away from his vision trying to hide the blush.

"You, a god queen taking care of me??? In what universe does that happen? I admit that I must be a bit too perfect that I have earned your affection. Hoo....Being too perfect truly is my curse. Even a god queen fell for me!!!" He lamented loudly as he tilted his head upwards.

"Oh...it seems like you think you are perfect even without your hair. Maybe you should stay bald forever." She threatened as she turned and looked at his self admiring pose upon which she grinded her teeth and went on ahead to leave him behind.

'What's wrong with her? I was merely concerned about her wellbeing after all she is my ticket to becoming a higher version of greatness, 'tycoon Damien 'money bags' Okoye. Heheheh...' He went back to his daydreaming when she left him behind.

"Why did I show concern for that plebeian?...wait, it was supposed to be our first date...aaaaaaaah!!!" She shouted while passing both hands through her hair whike squatting as she mumbled to herself and since her domain had seeped into all of the artifact, she isolated the sound to around herself.

Damien who had just exited the gates, found the god queen squatting down beside them as she manipulated her golden flames to draw circles on the ground.

'Is she a little girl? Or what?' He thought to himself.

She seemed to not have noticed him as she appeared to be deep in thought while a myraid expressions passed through her face.

"Hey!!! You seem more like a normal me compared to being a lofty god queen." He sarcastically shouted upon which she stood up hurriedly as she turned her golden eyes to stare at him.

They narrowed dangerously as Damien felt a chill down his spine. He subconsciously took a step back as he sweated profusely. It looked comical with his round protruding belly and prompted Phoenix to break out in a bout if laughter.

He turned around and walked away. She followed behind as she laughed.

"I want to know the layout of the other properties." He said to her when she caught up.

"Let me show you the map." She said as golden flames gathered midair and formed an image in the air.

The temple looking palace occupied half of the platform and it also had a residence behind it.

A wall was erected in between separating the two halves and had a gate, the one they had just passed through.

A cobble stone path extended from the gate to the edge of the platform while rows of ten houses, five on each side of the path could be seen. Each of the ten houses on each side of the path also had a house directly behind them adding up to twenty with ten on each side. Paths were made between the houses closer to the path so that they could reach the ones behind.

All the materials in the house except some items were golden.

"Why are the yards empty, there are no plants anywhere. It seems I have a tough job ahead of me." Damien mumbled to himself.

"During the time of creation of the city, no one had time to weave such useless things with their elemental strings. The city was only created to be a transaction ground for gods with the god emperor ensuring fairness. Wars were everywhere, elemental weavers of that time are like the elemental string weavers from the current universe. Everything they made was created for war, never entertainment." Phoenix explained as she had caught his mumble.

"That is right. Where I come from, its the law of the jungle. It is one of the reasons we look down on you people. You have enjoyed so much peace that you forgot how to fight." Damien said as a sigh escaped his lips. His slaughter days were truly hard and he didn't want to go back.

"Some of us enter this city to try to run away from that life even if briefly." He said while in a daze.

Phoenix sensed pain from his expression and was at a loss as to what to do to console him.

She raised her right hand and gently parted his back.

Beneath the orange gold rays of the suns, his back truly looked lonely from her eyes.

'If it hadn't been for those bastards, I would have been a happy person.' He raged in his mind while outwardly, he remained calm.

Phoenix's eyes which had been fixed on his side profile, involuntary reared up.

'Why do I feel so uncomfortable? It feels like am suffocating when I look into his eyes. And the pain I feel in my heart is worse.' She thought as her free hand rose as she placed it at her chest.

'I feel like I want to do something nice for him. What a strange feeling.' Phoenix thought.

He turned around and gave her a reassuring smile when he noticed her consoling him.

"Let's go tour inside one of the houses." He said as he entered the house at his right.

'That fake smile doesn't suit you.' She had wanted to say that but she had subconsciously stopped as she knew that he couldn't be asked to forget what had led to that fake smile.

She evaporated the tears in her eyes and proceeded to follow him inside.

Once Damien entered inside, he saw that it was in the same layout he had seen in the house he had been placed in. A living room, kitchen, bedroom, a bath and a toilet as for some reason that god emperor made it that the people of Pantheon, apart from eating had to use the toilet.

"Wait a minute, how could there have existed toilets before that god emperor even tampered with the laws of Pantheon city?" Damien asked out aloud as he stood near the toilet.

"Apparently, god emperors are masters of time. They can see future events even though they can't spy on themselves. My mother told me that the creator of Pantheon city must have seen that the divine laws he was laying behind were going to be tampered with." Phoenix explained as her feet entered through the door.

"Oh...god emperors must be amazing. By the way, why don't you wear shoes or something?" Damien asked as he looked at her toes which were peaking out of her high collared golden feathered gown.

"I am more comfortable like this." She answered as she wiggled her toes.

"Come, let me show you something amazing." Phoenix said as she pulled on his hand. She led him towards the bath tub and opened the tap.

Seven colored liquid gushed out into the bath tub upon which Damien's mouth opened widely.

It looked like the six colored liquid he was in previously but this one contained all the seven elemental particles. It was even previous to gods. He had heard about it even in the universe outside. It was called rainbow water and normal gods couldn't even synthesize it. He didn't know which gods could but it was very precious.

"This rainbow water can only be synthesized by god emperors. You mustn't undercharge the tenants who will take residence in these estates." Phoenix said as she looked at him with her beautiful eyes.

Damien's widely opened mouth still hadn't closed. He was mesmerized by the seven colored liquid sloshing about in the tub.

"Glorious. Phoenix, we are going to get rich. Hahaha" Damien laughed heartily upon recollecting himself and picked up the peit Phoenix upon which he spun her around happily.

She blushed, but as she looked at him laughing with genuine happiness, sweetness gushed into her heart.

He abruptly stopped amspinning her and hugged her in his arms. She was so startled that her eyes widened and she subconsciously pushed him away with such force that he collided with the wall. His back crashed into it and his back bone shattered since she was a god queen and the wall was part of a god emperor artifact, his body was the one which suffered the consequences.

The force had also shattered his eyeballs and his skin had developed cracks. His suit had been destroyed as it couldn't handle the force. The stomach busted apart and the undigested food spilled out. It mixed with his blood forming quite an unsightly mess.

His consciousness had entered a muddled state and he couldn't feel anything from his body as it laid down in the gooish mess.

Phoenix's embarrassed face turned pale upon seeing the gruesome condition he was in and she rushed to use her divine nirvanic laws to remake him.
