Miriam nodded. "He's entering prison soon. I think in a week. I hope the press coverage will die down again the way it did after the trial." She switched gears. "I've a chance to do a room in the Realtors' Association House."

Joe raised an eyebrow. "That's quite an accomplishment. Have the press made the connection between your business and you?"

"No, I go by my maiden name for business."

"Smart," Joe answered.

"Ms. Stokes?" Donner interrupted her thoughts.

"What else, Detective Donner? We've been through this twice already."

Before Donner could answer, a familiar face poked through the doorway. A broad smile burst onto Bob Carnes' face then, as if he realized she might be the bad guy, a surprised look replaced his grin. He opened the door wider to let his bulky frame into the room. She had never been so relieved to see anyone.

"What's going on here? Detective Donner?"

"This woman is being questioned in relation to the murder this morning."
