Shadowman opened his cell phone the moment the device rang. The bronze beauty laid out before him could wait. She was there on his dime. "Yeah," he murmured into the phone.
"Boss, it's me. She's with a guy. In a bar. A cop, I think."
"That would follow. She is a young, attractive woman. Men would flock to her," he said, though he knew the sarcasm would pass over the caller's head. "If she isn't carrying a picture, don't worry about anything."
"Do I have to stay here?"
Shadowman rolled his eyes. "Your orders are to keep an eye on her."
"But this cop is making me nervous."
"Live with it. If he doesn't see you, you aren't there."
He punched the disconnect button, tossing the phone onto the nightstand. "Now where were we? More importantly. Where were you?"
