With Jennifer purring and snuggling next to him Sean asked, “Where do you live?”
“I have a room at Jet’s house.”
“You live with your stepfather?” he asked and chuckled.
She sat up a little to look at him. “I’m not there much. I consult all over the country.”
“So you don’t have a home?”
She settled next to him again. “No, I guess not. I never thought of it that way. I like to travel and be in new places,” she explained.
“You feel more in control that way.”
She was obviously thinking that over for a moment. Sean lightly scratched her back.
Her hand made lazy circles on his stomach. “I guess so.”
“Where would you have lived if you’d married Ken?”
“I guess here, but I would still have traveled as much.”
He moved her face to look at him. “You wouldn’t have cut back your travel if you were married? You wouldn’t have seen much of each other. If I were married to you, I’d expect you to be home more.”
