Normally, Eve wouldn't be bothered by anyone's attitude towards her. She wouldn't care at all. Throughout her life, she had experience many things and most of it was tragedy.
Her mother died after giving birth to her younger sister while her father died serving his country. Eve learned in the harshest way possible that she had to remain strong. Not only for herself, but for her younger sister as well.
She poured all her feelings into hardwork. Magic practice, literature, swordsmanship, and everything that she could learn. Although her grandfather assured her that he will not force her into any political marriage, she could tell that in the eyes of her uncle, she was already as good as his prodigy son's wife.
And she could also feel Isaac's glances towards her. She understands the she was beautiful, even more so in the future as she remembered her mother's face.
She and her sister were known for having peerless beauty which was also acknowledged by everyone in the entire Wynett Manor.
So, she was surprised to see someone who had a similar beauty like them. Not only that, but was also the opposite gender. Initially, she was only curious of the child who was adopted by their grandfather.
But after seeing Kayo's attitude towards their grandfather and her uncle. She was reluctant to acknowledge that he was going to be a part of her family.
Subconsciously, she began to have pride in her looks in which many people had praised her for, and so she could not help but feel shocked as she was entirely ignored by someone.
She looked at her sister, Elianor, who was evidently sad as both of them were entirely disregarded by Kayo. Elianore had a gentle and understanding personality and so, she did not get upset at Kayo's attitude towards them.
She only felt sad about the fact that someone who was also at the same age, ignored them. Isaac on the other hand, only snickered as he saw the two's reaction towards Kayo.
As the two sister returned to their seats, Gerfast only remained silent as he stared at Kayo. Meanwhile, Kayo's attention was pulled back to reality by Gerfast's intense stare.
It was then, he realized that Gerfast was signaling him to introduce himself. Kayo sighed as he only told his name.
" Kayo. "
Everyone remained looking at Kayo, some waited a while expecting him to say more about himself. Shortly after his short introduction, he resumed eating as if no one else was in the room. They were thoroughly astounded by Kayo's attitude.
Though why was Kayo acting like this? Actually, in his previous life, Kayo was quite reserved and had never taken a risky decision. He was also acknowledged by his master for his patience and perseverence.
After his master realized that Kayo could only remain as a 3rd assassin his entire life, he changed his way of teaching from ' Killing the target even at the cost of your own life ' into ' Prioritise your own safety and move cautiously. '.
Though Kayo was a failure in the eyes of his senior brother and sisters, it was his master's regret to had never let Kayo realize his ambition which his master implanted himself.
Assassins were known for being cold and indifferent, especially regarding the matters of emotion. To them, any kind of emotion was a lethal poison. Any act of impulse would lead to a tragedy even worse than death.
Being an assassin would naturally accumulate a lot of hatred from many different kind of people. From the relatives of their assassinated targets and to the swore vengeance of an organization.
Especially those famous assassins like Kayo's master and his senior brother and sisters. They had a lot of people willing to trade countless lives only for the sake of vengeance.
His master only gave tasks to Kayo befitting of a 3rd rate. Even after they had separated, his Master thoroughly drilled the cautious and calculating trait into Kayo that even Kayo himself could only instinctly act upon this trait of his.
Maybe Kayo's master actually cared for him or his master just didn't want to be embarassed by the fact that he had a 3rd rate student. Either way, Kayo didn't know nor did he care.
To him, his only goal was becoming a 1st rate assassin. Before that, nothing else matters. Even if he was well aware that it was a goal implanted by his master, he did not care. Because that is what he want to achieve, a realm that his master existed in.
Or if possible, a realm that even his master had not entered. Going back to reality, why did Kayo act with this attitude towards the Wynett family?
For one, Kayo knew what position he was in. He was weak. He does not have strength nor power. He could not even amount to 10% of his previous capabilities as a 3rd rate.
Even if he did have the techniques, he lacked the strength to execute them. He could tell that the people of this world was different. Though he couldn't precisely tell what it was, but meeting Gerfast made him realize that the humans of this world was vastly different from Earth.
That was because of the existence of " Magic ". An unknown vital variant of power that did not exist in his previous world. He did not know their effects but it was evident in Gerfast's body physique and movement.
He could also tell that since Isaac had practiced magic before him, he need to at least lose an arm or two in order to successfully kill him. The reason Kayo could gauge people's strength even if the person had not shown it himself or herself, is because of the instinct that his master implanted on him made him very sensitive towards danger.
Especially towards dangerous people like Gerfast. Earlier today, he had really done his best to escape from Gerfast's grasp but it was useless. Kayo was sure that what Gerfast saw in him was his boundless potential, which is why he was so eager on adopting him.
Funny thing was, his instincts sensed that Isaac was an even bigger threat than his father, Eustice. Having thought so, a sharp glint momentarily appeared in Kayo's eyes as he glanced at Isaac when he entered the room.
Naturally, Kayo hid it well so that no one noticed it except for Gerfast. Kayo knew that was the reasom on why Gerfast had an amused stare towards him when Isaac was introducing himself.
Secondly, the reason Kayo acted like this was because his bluff would momentarily provide him time to grow. From the moment he arrived on this manor, with existence of Eustice and his family, he knew that they would hinder his growth.
So this persona of his was necessary for making a strong empty fortress. He took his identity as Gerfast's adopted son into account and deliberately made this arrogant personality of his in order to boost the idea of " This child isn't simple to deal with. ".
They naturally wouldn't try to touch him secretly, not when he was Gerfast's adopted son. However, they can still openly challenge him and intentonally make things difficult for him.
Just as Isaac was boasting about himself earlier, Kayo immediately knew that Isaac intention was to publicly claim his position in the family as the future head and to ensure of it, he boasted achievements in front if everybody as to make clear that he was the most reliable choice rather than some unknown child picked up by Gerfast.
In other words, while he was putting the newcomer in his place, he was also ensuring his supporters that this unknown variant would pose no threat to him and his inheritance of the head position.
Just as Kayo finished his meal and drank orange juice for the last time, he asked Gerfast if he could leave.
" Can I leave now? Are we done yet? "
" Why? going somewhere? " Asked Gerfast who seemed to be a little disappointed by Kayo's earlier introduction.
" Yeah, to bed. I really need some sleep now and you staring at my pretty face isn't helping. "
By now, most of them were already somewhat used to Kayo's attitude however, his sharp remarks especially towards the man they all respected, earned their disapproval even if he was adopted by the Ruthless general himself.
Kayo intentionally lowered their evaluation of him in order to fully fortify the persona which he will use as the identity of Kayo Wynett.
Gerfast became silent for a while before allowing Kayo to leave dinner and head to bed. Kayo stood up and left without looking back as soon as he heard Gerfast's approval.
Kayo was once again escorted by the elderly maid to his new room. It was incredibly spacious, comparable to the 5 star hotel rooms in Earth. It had a large balcony and a bathroom that's half the size of a public bath house.
He saw that there was also a large king size bed as well as a large cabinet filled with newly bought clothes for him.
" Well then young master, Ring the bell if you need any assistance. I shall be going now. "
Kayo simply nodded before lying in the spacious bed which had the softest futon that he had ever felt. The sheets were made by the finest silk and his blanket was as soft as a baby's skin.
Before succumbing to his fatigue, he asked the system a few more questions.
' Well? do I get a reward or do we both die? '
Kayn thought, ' Wait... can you even threaten an A.I.? '.

Having asked all his questions, he succumbed to his drowsiness.

Kayo woke up before dawn. Before the servants even started waking up, he immediately stretched his body and started his physical training in his previous life.
Although he limited himself to at least 30% of the intensity, for the fear that he might damage his body, it was still a tortuous training that no average adult dares to do.
By the time he was halfway through his arduous training, he was far beyond sweating bullets while excruciating pain dwelled in his muscles.
However, no matter how hard it was, he still pulled through. After an hour or so, Kayo finally finished at the sight of the first sunlight.
Kayo immediately felt the need to cut his hair as it had been an uncomfortable feeling for him as his long hair stuck to his sweaty body while sometimes it would make it's way towards his mouth.
He took a bath and immediately felt rejuvenated as the cold water swept through his body. After 5 minute of bath, he quickly wore some simple clothes from his cabinet and went outside his room.
Normally, children of noble birth would have a servant or two to tend to their daily needs. Seeing as how no one tended to Kayo, either Kayo woke up too early or they intentionally didn't send him one.
Either way, Kayo did not care. After several twists and turns inside the large mansion, he finally found the room that resembled a kitchen. It seems someone was already there as Kayo caught a whiff of delicious scent going through the doors.
On his way here, Kayo practiced moving along the shadows of the building. He familiarized himself with the interior of the Manor, looking for blindspots, hiding areas, and most important of all- escape routes.
He was more than disappointed at the result of his body's slow and short movements. He could only helplessly sigh as he reminded himself of his goal of the possibilty of becoming a 1st rate assassin.
As he arrive at the door, he slowly opened it. Resulting in the door making a squeeking sound. Seeing as how the person inside was already alarmed, he just swung it open and went inside.
There he found two persons inside. One man and one little girl. The man seemed to be in his middle ages, he had an average but robust build. He was slightly brown in colour while his eyes were sapphire blue. His hair was cut short but had a small pony tail slightly above his nape that measured to his back.
His face had rough but handsome features. His long nose and sharp jaw, he would've been the type that most women in Earth would want to date. The little girl who seemed to be at the same age as Kayo, possessed similar characteristics as the former.
Blue serene eyes and slightly brown skin tone, long dark brown hair that's been tied into a pony tail. She had sharp eyes that possessed a hint of ferociousness.
Kayn thought, ' Obviously a father and daughter pair. By the way, what's with this house and attractive children? '
Kayo only glanced at them before heading straight to the storage room. The two oddly looked at the newcomer who acted as if they weren't there.
Theu weren't ignorant though, they knew that the child intruder was Kayo, the General's new adopted son. The man, seemingly the chef, wanted to ask the child but before he could, the child entered the storage room and closed the door.
